The pit lane entrance on the inside of the last turn is redundant. The correct pit entrance can be found on the RH Side of the start/finish straight.

Also please use extreme caution when leaving the pits and keep to the RH side of the circuit until after the first turn. Watch for very fast approaching cars.

Just managed a 1:42.6 in the Vette after a handful of laps. Ade was well slow with a just a 1:42.9  :P ;)

The Vette in the right hands (not mine) will win.  :)

The Vette in the right hands (not mine) will win.  :)

Jeff ain't racing GTL any more.   :D ;)

Practice in the Pantera got down to a 1:39.38 and that wasn't a perfect lap, but its a complete beast to get the power down, especially out of the first corner, I doubt I'll keep it off the dirt over the whole race.

What the hell, first race since I unboxed the G25, I'll more than likely mess up pressing the wrong button anyway, so more of a trial run anyway.  :)

I'm at mid 42s in the Pantera. I love Fuji, but I hate that - am I gonna make it to the end of this bend feeling - all the way round the back section

I think all the leaders were clear of me when I speared off, sorry about that.   :(

I'm not entirely sure but I think I may have kept my left foot on the clutch pedal from the start and just been pressing the clutch to slow down, not the brake.  I obviously haven't driven with the G25 enough to make the controls automatic yet.

All I know is I headed into the first corner at unabated speed and wiped the engine out.

Maybe I should dig the half-broken DFP out of the cupboard and use that instead.  ;D  Or perhaps just spend more time with the G25 and get used to it.  :D

Hope you have a good race.

I'm struggling with a new G25 as well Steve, the brake is very (too IMHO) close to the throttle.
Like the wheel, like the new found throttle control I now have  ;D
I am still not quite at home with the brakes yet,  :(
it's not yet natural whether I am pressing it or not.
Oily mentioned a rubber driving aid (ooh err) to stick in the brake pedal to give some progressive
like I used to have with my half squash ball.

Anyroad up, had ponly a few laps practice last night, decided to take the big Vette, huge fun if
rather off the pace, was beggining to get the hang of it, fell off somewhere, had some fun battling
with Sandor and Alex, was giving Legzy room after his rejoin when I get knocked round from
behind, right in to the path of a flying Geoffers, ended up over a bank, was stuggling to get out
so left. Most "dissapointing"

Not a big fan of the GTL 70s cars. They need wierd diff settings to be driveable and even then they don't rank up there with enjoyable cars to drive. Anyway, thought I knew the circuit, but didn't had done no practice (as usual), only managed a couple of laps without spinning in qually so I was still learning the track through the first part of the race too. :-[ Managed somewhere in the 1:42s or 43s in qually I think and must have been 15th on the grid. By the first corner I was up to 7th though as my Pantera went flying past loads of slow starters and nasty Fords. ;D Had a few offs along the way during the race, but eventually I worked out where I should be braking and how fast I could take some of the corners, bringing my lap time down by 2 seconds or more. Finished 5th I think, so not a bad outing again.

, had some fun battling with Sandor and Alex,

was reasonably on the pace but race proved too long for a driver like me in the Pantera.
Was going backwards all race and ended up doing a contest who-can-make-the-most-mistakes-in-one-lap with a green machine...
I won but finished anyway.

Great track btw, just couldn't keep a cool head..

I'm very sorry I hit you, Matt.  I gently hit your bumper  and your car ended up in the middle of the road facing the wrong direction...... Geoffers had nowhere to go.

Just a standard race for me. First laps are good , after that one or two mistakes and the race is ruined.
Had a splendid Q and started from p8 , highest for me. Unfortunately the finishing position is the only one that counts.
After the first corner got myself to 6th position and was able to hold that spot for a few laps.
Had my first error and ended up in the barrier which ruined the suspension. Car was horrible to drive from that point and had to stay very focussed.
Was just too close on Matt and caused him to spin . Waited for him to join again but his car was probably too much a wreck after Geoffers redoing the bodywork.

Continued for 4 laps more but the car was hard to drive and I made another spin. Saw someone coming towards me and just hit escape .

fun track, fun car, fun race (1/3) , hated the end (2/3)

BTW, how can I change the self driving when pitting and when race finish? I can't remember.
I had to setup a new profile driver and just can't remember.
Thanks.

I think their settings in your PLR file. You probably have your old one under your previous drivers name. I think you can simply re-name it to overwrite your current drivers PLR file and you should have all your old setting back.

(5) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

PS: Sorry to Tibs for spinning your Corvette on about lap 5, I was too eager on the throttle  :wetfish:

Took a bit of a gamble on the Pantera (don't usually like these big powerful beasts) but found/adapted a nice setup which gave me a PB in quali. Cautious start and first lap, but then came across a stationary Paulo in T1. Sorry for the tap mate, but I had nowhere to go. Had a decent race from there on which included a nice little battle with my teamie Geoffers.

Lost it a couple of times, notably on the penultimate lap when I was concentrating too much on an approaching Lazlow in my mirror. Fortunately I had a big enough gap to limp home for P9.

Have to say I thought the track looked fantastic and so much the better for not having that later Mickey Mouse section at the bottom.

Qualified 16th & finished 8th having got up to 5th for a short while fairly early in the race.

Enjoyed the first half as no matter what position I was in, there was always somebody to fight (thanks for good driving all :)). Unfortunately by the last 10 to 15 laps, I was pretty much stuck on my own. I could see API up the road regularly, but as my tyres wore he seemed to edge away & as I pushed I started finding the barriers ::).

Prefer the old banked corner to that new hairpin T1, but good race overall from where I was sitting. :)

Legzy

p.s. Great win Lazlow. Any win against distinguished opposition such as Minton, Ade, Shark & Mr Holmes must have been a quality performance (Don't think I forgot anyone Oily :-*).
p.p.s. Well done to Tibs & Matt for braving the Vette 8).

Well then....after my mistake tapping Geoffers on second lap (I made the report of the incident to take my deserved penalty) I fall to dead last. Sorry to goltop57 too, I was there because I was waiting to Geoffers to come back to tarmac and my front end was aiming to his car. That is why I was stopped. Didn't want to reverse in the middle of the corner and jeopardize more drivers.
Two laps later I went to pit repairs because a huge oversteer due to the rear tap I suffered.
3 minutes of repair work, had put me 2 laps down, nevertheless I tried to finish and collect as many points I could for the team. Last half of the race I was behind Dan (1 lap down but being a bit faster than him) and in front of ADE (1 lap down aswell) and kept their pace, which make me more mad with myself for ruining Geoffers race and mine also.
Congrats on your win Lazlow and to mr_oily (do you have a RS3000 Capri in real life?) and Dan's podium.  ;)

Cheers

Well, first race of the second half of the season and it had it's moments that one - at one stage in practice I thought Dyno was on for pole and I'd be slotting in nicely for a second on the grid.....then I woke up - well Jim, Mr. Minton and a resurgent Steve Holmes did anyway! Sandbagging if you ask me but still - that was me in fourth instead :)

Possibly my worst start this season and by the time I'd got the thing rolling, I'd been given a "fly-by" from Phil's KERS powered Pantera - we shall knight thee Maverick. Managed to pick my braking point reasonably well into T1 and creep around the outside with just enough speed to slot me in behind Minton, leaving Dyno hot on my tail.

Some good tussles early on, somehow found myself in second(?) for a few laps before braking for T1 with the car slightly off balance. Locked the inside tyre and just eased off the brake in time to get enough grip to keep me mostly on the black stuff and but a few inches onto the gravel - that let a charging Dyno through who was followed by Dan who also needed no invitation to nick another one of my lovely race places :(

Tried to take the early initiative on the latter a couple of laps later before he'd learned where I was quick and to give me a shot at staying in the same postcode as Jimbo, so I stick it up the inside of the first chicane - was close but didn't quite come off as I'd liked! Eventually after some more close racing and a fair few more laps Dan made a rare slip up, didn't quite get the turn in for the right hander before the really slow downhill left and I managed to just drive my line and nab the spot back.

After Cadwell's horror show any points were good here - I knew it would be tough seeing Jim's pole time but the story of the race was really going to be about whether I had a hope in hell of hanging on to the back of Lazlow in the opening stages and whether he'd lose the edge of those tyres in the closing stages. I didn't, and somehow he kept the pace up with what I know must have been seriously second hand rubber by then so hat off to ya bud...bold car choice and maximum points as a result.

I'm not looking at the drivers ;) but we lost a few points in the team standings so we look forward to having those and some more back at Long Beach :).

P.s - PR if I drive a Capri, you surely have to be a CSL owner!

Got a good jump off the line but held 1st too long and went sideways after engaging second which let a few people through.   Made a mistake coming out of the first corner which let Oily through. Was lying 5th and things were getting busy . Finally got second and thought i had a good chance of catching Lazlow after Oily dropped back after a mistake , i took a couple of seconds out of him but then the car just started to feel weird with MAJOR understeer and i couldnt keep consistent which Lazlow was doing and he started to pull away.
By this time Oily had recovered and was large in my mirrors , it was like having one of them boggies that you cant flick off your finger  :P ,  I new he had more pace but just tried to keep my lines good but in the end the Pantera bit back and Oily went past and he crusied away .

First time ive finished a race in the Pantera ,  Grats to Lazlow on a storming drive.

Cheers
