Soooo... car choices? I'm not sure whether to give the Lambo another go in GT2 or return to the 350Z in GT3. ???

The Gallardo might be as common as muck so I'll try something else and I found the 430 faster last season and this  :P Will be running around late Friday if anyone fancies it.

Estoril is a brilliant choice for GT2 by the way  :)

will wait to see what my teamies are driving before final decision (make sure we are represented in both classes), but will be GT2 360 (or 430) or GT3 Vertigo.

I'll be in a GT2, that's for sure, but haven't decided on a car yet.

It'll probably be between the M3 GTR or the Porsche 996 GT3-RSR  ???

i will not be able to race here due to my injury, which is a shame  :'( Not an ideal start to an endurance campaign  :(

How come the new 'physics' pack is 225mb?  :o  Are we allowed to know what the actual changes were compared to S9, in a transparence governance style, ala FIA ?  :P  ;)

I will prob be in a GT2 997RSR, theres a surprise eh? for S10 Endurance  ;D but is there a car list for the respective groups somewhere ?

Almost identical in size to the previous physics pack and I believe Dave has already stated the readme details the changes.

I'll be taking the GT2 F430 assuming it's basically the same in the new Physics pack. I look forward to checking out the readme file  ;)

Cant make this race :'(

Will be on cycling holiday in Wales ;D Typical weather ::) Only 2 days though so I can handle it. :)

I have been considering GT2 for this championship as I have not driven GT2 much. Probably M3 but, not fully decided yet.

Enjoy the race all.

Quali went alright, loaded my race setup, then clicked DRIVE......nothing  ???

I could access all the other screens just couldn't get on the track! By the time I reloaded, the race had already started  :(

I'm off to watch top gear.

Gawd my patience is running thin  >:( Hope I didn't take you with me Gazza, was having the time of my life  :) Were you running with a full tank as well? Would it last till end? :)

Replaced my graphics card with a 4870 which isn't overheating and I still get lockups. Looks like that was 100 notes well spent. Spose it could be processor overheating or psu? Had a struggling psu before and its simply shuts down so I'm plumping for processor.

Nightmare.

Sat on the grid thinking, 'everyone is being a bit tardy joining', and then realised that the screen had frozen - no wheel movement. Pressed escape and the machine rebooted :( Shame, because I was looking forward to dipping my toe again in the endurance experience. Still somewhat off the pace as my brain is still in PnG land but it was coming back. Hope everyone else had a good race.

Not my favourite circuit but great race all the same, BAD tyre choice on the front made my car handle great for about 5 laps then it turned into a nightmare, had to pit early which cost me, great battle with 57 Gold Top, good drive Gold Top, I just couldn't catch you in the last third of the race.

Interesting first few laps, spun once, then a bit later on couldn't avoid a sideways nsfast marooned mid corner. Sorry dude  :o

Bit of fun then catching DG who then spun on the final corner just as it was about to get interesting.

And that was that  really :(  Bit disappointing to only be racing 5 or 6 other cars in the GT3 class. I know that mixed class racing is where it's at but if there was a choice I would prefer a single class endurance series where there's more chance of coming across someone of your own ability to race against.

Still, looking forward to the next one  8) and a big well done to teammates Gazza and RM for respective class wins  :notworthy: :notworthy:

Well that was great fun.

Never really got a clean run in quali, but managed P9 so can't grumble.

Race was my best yet. Kept it on the fast bit all the way round and had some great battles along the way, notably with JPS. Got my strategy bang on, but maybe cut things a bit lean as I was showing I lap of fuel with well over a lap to go. Had to manage my gap and  short shift around the last lap to bring the 430 home in 7th.

Bad luck to Paul and sbg :(

Nice to be the first home for team KC - won't be able to say that too often ;D

No you didnt SBG, did give me a bit of a fright though as you just went sharp right into the barrior on the last corner. I wasnt on a full tank at the start which is probably why i was able to stay with you, so it would of been interesting to see how it would of panned out. I suspect you would have had the edge if you were gunna make the fuel last. I did gamble on the tyres which just about worked.

Was able to keep a good gap after SBG's off but i wasnt very good at traffic tonight and kept losing some time. Wasnt sure on what i was gunna do at the stop, change all tyres or just front? I thought i had enough time to change both and it just about worked as Jose was 7 secs behind.  He kept me honest in the last stint but i just drove smooth and tried to maintain the gap. Think Jose must of had an off as he was 20 secs behind at the end.

Grats Jose and TT

Grats RM and Psuedo  and Ted,  Good team showing tonight.  8)

LOL, just the 8 of 14 of us in GT2 driving the F430 then

Well, embarked on my defence of the GT2 Endurance Crown with a very respectable 4th spot. Happy with that considering the number of aliens ahead of me (3!). Chuffed that Blunder backed me up in the team result & we're keeping the Psuedo & Legend teams honest (currently).

Had a great race with Spanner, finishing about 1 sec ahead of him, but he'd been gaining on me since the pitstops & to say I was getting nervous was an understatement! :sweatdrop:

But I'm always dissapointed when MJ's a no show. He usually finishes just a few seconds behind me too :P ;) (hope you're limp wrist is better for the next one buddy ;D)

Had a CTD in Q2, re-qulifying took me from 3rd to 5th place, still 0,5 sec slower than my pb.
Was sad to see Paul968 drop on the start, others too. :(  SBG and RM were having their fight, so were me and Jose. Gallardo is faster on a straight, while F430 is more stable, so we switched places a few times but were close every lap. Had a wobbly pass through the killing chicane and then another. And another.  ::)

Strange car, this Gallardo. While it's faster than F430 if you get it right, it's unstable enough that I didn't get it right every time. :P And when tyres got more worn I was having trouble catching it on braking more and more. I used F430 last season and to compare it: you can set F430 to trail brake and you can do it however you want, it's very stable. I was trying to set Gallardo this way and when I did I had trouble on the exit - understeering. When I set it to get the exit right, I was getting snap oversteer entering the corner and skidding all over. Maybe it was just the track, I don't remember having that much trouble at Donington.

All in all, I'm satisfied with the 3rd place. Grats to winners and podiums. :)
GJ JPS, too bad MJ was missing. Get well! :wheelchair: Soon!

Knew this track was going to be one of the worst for the Z33, what with all the long corners, but based on what I saw in pre-dinner practice I didn't think I'd be too far off the pace. That hope evapourated in qualifying and I found myself dead last in GT3, and only ahead of the GT2 stragglers. :o

I did a final fuel run at the end of qualifying with the power side of the diff upped from 0% to 5%, as I was worried about getting spat off under power in the slower corners, but once into the race it just increased the understeer slightly, and I still managed to get spat off in the penultimate corner, face planting myself into the barrier. :-[ I had to wait an age for the track to clear so that I could rejoin, and having picked up a dink to the rear earlier on, I dived into the pits, the crew acknowledging my request about 10 yards before I reached the speed limit line, topped up with fuel, repaired the damage and took on fresh mediums.

That had rather spoiled my plan, which was to run long and then pit late for a splash of go go juice and soft rubber, but I didn't want to risk staying out with a damaged car and losing yet more time. As it turned out I just didn't have the pace to be competetive anyway, and gradually slipped down the order as other cars took their stops. :-\ Late in the race the track temperature seemed to fall away and I was struggling to keep any heat in the tyres; the last 10 minutes I was just cruising to the flag and letting the traffic by. :sleep1:

M'eh, just like the real GT2 class this season then ! Looking forward to getting back into action and taking the Porsche fight to them all  :fencing: ala Richard westbrook but without the talent  :D

I will hopefully be back for the next one and i will be gunning for Legzy and co  ;) though hanging onto the shirt tails of them there aliens will be a challenge  :P

The 430 and Gallardo were on exactly the same pace for me, and the 911 wasn't far off so its got to be said Daves done an excellent job, as normal  ::) The GT1's I've tried are also beautifully matched. As everyone has plumped for the 430 its Gallardo for me next time, which will be a while as I'm at Spa next GT2 time out  :)

Was not meant as a criticism of DG or Psuedo and his elves - just an observation of the car behaviour. :)  I agree, cars are greatly matched. 8) I'm tempted for Aston Martin(s) in S11, though the nagging feeling of overlooked car (by me) drags me to GT2 Porsche...

Unexpectedly good result from me!
Was still downloading the physics pack as qualifying was going on!
Manged to join, load my Valencia set up, (Thanks for the tip Legzy)
and got one very slow timed lap in trying to remember the circuit as I had done
no practice! So was next to last! Not a suprise!  ;D
Anyway, race went really well, got quicker and quicker all race and was only 30 secs behind Legzy aand Spanner
at the end! Not bad from the back of the grid!
Really enjoyed it! Gives me the motivation to stick with this series this season!
Might even do some practice!  ;D

Thanks all, great fun

M.

Had an overheating engine in qualifying and then totally forgot to increase the cooling before the race. I was short shifting most of the time but engine temp was still around 104C all the time and health was below 60% by the end.

Think Jose must of had an off as he was 20 secs behind at the end.
I got caught up with some battling GT3’s and after that decided to just cruse to the finish.
I didn’t have any straight line speed advantage over the GT3 cars so lapping was really hard.

Reign Man, when I was behind you towards the end of the race you had some sporadic warping IIRC.

Thanks for letting me know about the warping.  Its worrying, my connection hasn't been any good recently for some reason.

As for the race, It was a pretty quiet one.  I was racing along with a GT2 for the first quarter, but after that I found myself on ma own for the rest of the race.  :(

A brilliant race in the end 8)

Managed my best lap ever in qually, going under 1.40 for the first time ever but knew it was going to be really close in the race. Going in 6secs infront and coming out 8secs behind kinda says you didnt do something i did Legz in the stop! Was slowly gaining over the later stages but just couldnt quite get there.

The GT3's didnt seem too slow compared to the GT2 which made overtaking interesting at times so sorry for scaring people!

If you dont want to give anything away, i will! Equal fuel stints of 50L each and changed tyres in the stop. Was happy with the driving, no real offs or mistakes and seemed pretty consistent, the equal tyre wear probably helped in that regard. Was getting tyre wear of around 10 in the first stint and around 12-13 at the end.

Hurry up MJ and come back :P (Gawd never thought i'd say that!)
