As an irregular attendee myself I can't really complain about the low turn out but when nearly half the field was gone before the end of lap two it became a fairly monotonous drive to the finish.

I amused myself by watching the Tim/Dave battle on my Pribluda. I was concious of taking the Ferrari and thought about taking a slower car but if Mike hadn't got discoed and the likes of Paul and Hristo had turned up then I felt I would have needed the red car!!

Well done Ken, it was still a good strong drive despite the dwindled field.

I feared it would be a monotonous race too when I saw how far off the pace I was in qually.  Managed to narrowly avoid the first lap incident on the way to T1 though and found myself in second behind Tim who then proceded to give me palpatations many times through the Lesmos which he enjoyed taking in spectacular Gerry Marshall style!  Took the lead for a while before Ken stormed through as I made a mistake and then had a mighty close battle with Tim right to the flag.  We generally passed each other at least a couple of times per lap, but our slipstreaming didn't help us close on ken who breezed to victory.  Last lap and from in front I pushed extra hard through the Lesmos to try to break the tow, but by the approach to Para he was on my tail again so I made him go the long way round.  Side by side around Para and exiting just in front (I think) I kept close to the pitwall only for Tim to deny me second place by 1/100th of a sec.    Nice one Tim..  Grrrr  >:(

Congrats to Hristo for taking the title in such convincing fashion , thanks to everyone for some great racing this season and to everyone involved in running and moderating UKGPL.

I knew that once out of slipstream range we had no chance of catching Red Ken ( ;D) so thought I'd have fun and battle you instead
You may not be so pleased to hear that I contrived my minor mistakes in the closing laps to ensure I was behind you when entering the backstraight the final time, Knowing that I had an edge on you through Parabolica  :ninja:

It had been my intention to make my move for 2nd there from about the 4th lap, but decided that following you nicely would be too obvious  ;D

Very well battled, you nearly held me off after all that - Fantastic race there  :thumbup1:

Congrats to Ken for a convincing win - and bigger cheers to Hristo for anihilating the championship again in HER name  ;)

Thanks, guys, I lost my Internet 30 minutes before the race, apparently someone cut the cable to the whole building. Clive could have actually won the Championship if he had entered and won the race (because of the 2 worst results drop). I guess luck was on my side.  :P

Ah, so my plan worked. I can sanction the payment to the guy with the cable croppers now!! :)

He overdid it! The whole 8 store building had no cable tv and internet until late morning on the next day! He'd probably demand overpayment.  ;D

Oh and, did you send someone to cut the electricity as well? Got cut twice in the last 2 days!

Grats to Hristo on the Season win, and to Ken on his race victory

My sudden departure, happened as we went to the grid, when I just got turfed out to the Reconnect to Server board :(

I hope Season 18 brings better fortune

Was looking forward to getting a tow from Ken, but instead ended up with Clive running a 65 race at East London, which was amusing but somewhat tedious in the T77.

Yes, grats to Hristo for yet another Championship and thanks to Syd for moderating and running this Historic Division which has been great fun.

As it happens, I had not spotted that opportunity Hristo :-\.    I looked at the scores and decided that you were more than 50 ahead, so the best I could manage would be second. Probably if I had known, the race would have been even shorter for me than the 300 metres I survived and I would have blown the engine on the grid or something equally stupid.

I'm still not sure what happened as I forgot to save replay ( again!!!), other than knowing I tangled with a Fezza ( Syd I think??). Ken bogged right down off pole and from my position in 3rd on the grid I almost ran into the back of him. Fortunately ( or unfortunately ) Mike who would have been in second spot had discoed, so there was a gap to move into. I think that may have put me closer than was prudent to the left hand side of the track and although I tried to keep it straight, I'm not sure if I actually gave Syd ( if it was Syd) enough room.
I could hear cars all around me and there were a couple that I COULD see in my mirrors but the Fez must have been right alongside in the "blind spot" for both of us.
If it was me I apologise  and to anyone else who got embroiled in the carnage. I will have a look at the replay when its available and prepare the sackcloth and ashes if appropriate.
