Righto, sorry for the added delay (was absolutely shattered from the weekender)  :-[

I've had a sit down with a pen and paper and decided to try and follow Hristo's earlier approach of the normal interleague races - fastest/most consistant drivers in the fastest cars as we have quite a strong grid here :)

From as near as I can guess based on general finishing positions/penalty points ect I've gone as follows:

Lotus 1 = Phil T
Lotus 2 = Natan 5 (he was VERY competative in this last season)
Ferrari 1 = SamB
Ferrari 2 = Stiggy
BRM = John Roberts
BT11 = Maestro57 (as Requested)
Honda = FMG (I have a cracking setup for her already, so have free'd up some faster chassis for others  :))
Cooper = HappyAl
BT7 = Bookie

Hoping this should do us proud  :thumbup1:
The BT7, T77, and BRM are undecided at the mo between Happy Al, Bookie, and Stiggy.
Can you give me an idea of your speed/Consistancy please Mr. Stig so I can sort you guys provisionally  :)

Anyone with any complaints about their chassis or suggestions please pipe up now  ;D

Otherwise hope you're all happy  :angel:

Lotus 2 = Natan 5 (he was VERY competative in this last season)
Ferrari 1 = SamB (Hope this is ok but you're proving very fast and consistent)

BRM = TBD
BT11 = Maestro57 (as Requested)
Honda = FMG (I have a cracking setup for her already, so have free'd up some faster chassis' for others  :))

I'd like to take the BRM Tim , that will allow you to give lotus to another driver and they might find it more easy to drive than the brm .

OK, John. Will edit the above.
Will move mike into your car as he requested a lotus anyway - that free's up a fezza for someone  :)

You moved Sam instead of me.

Not sure if you meant to or not but if he would prefer the Lotus I will stick with the Ferrari though I've only had one practise session with it earlier tonight and have not driven it before.

I got the chassis handling something like and managed a 28 dead, and unlike me I seem to be braking too early, it seems the Ferrari has better brakes than the Lotus I've been driving.

Or is it me?

Can I have a cooper please, I think I'm about the slowest, but at least with the cooper I can keep it on the track.

I'm happy to drive either the Lotus or Ferrari, but it'd be nice to be told which car I'm driving sooner rather than later  ;D.

Steve Bird drove a BT11 there last season (to 2nd no less), If you can get hold of him he may be able to help - failing that maybe JR can help as he's a BT11 driver at the mo  :)

It seems I've only driven East London in BT7 and BT11, so I don't have setups for the other cars. Here are the Brabham ones if you want to give them a go:

http://uploading.com/files/HUOTSJ3U/eastlndn.rar.html

If you have setups for the other cars from other tracks, you could convert them easily. Most of the time it's just a matter of changing the gears. Suitable tracks that come to mind, with setups from should work well for East London, are: Imola, Kyalami, Monaco (with taller gears and lowered chassis), Monza and generally, any flat track with no banked corners, but rather long sweeping bends and hairpins.

Apologies but something has come up next week and I will have to miss this race.

That frees up the Lotus and if anybody wants to try the setup I was working on let me know.

Even I had it down to mid 27s so it is capable of more in the right hands.

Phil to the rescue - he's volunteered as a reserve... I've changed the top thread

Firstly, good luck for tomorrow to all entrants. Can you please be in the UKGPL chatroom by 8.20pm UK time for a prompt 8.30pm start – it’s 9.30pm for most of our opponents so they’ll be having a late drive anyway…

I’ve updated the server details and added the passwords.

Turning to numbers it looks like we may be a man or two down. Rather than wasting time messing around with driver numbers just before the race and, to avoid anyone being denied the chance to participate, in the event of a teams numbers differing we will count an even number of drivers in the scoring ie if UKGPL only have 8 on a grid only the first 8 of GPLR's will count and vice versa.

We could still do with some reserves and it’s likely you would get to race.

Finally, for those who don’t normally run Pro, please remember to be ultra-cautious, there’s a big bonus for finishing. It’s a long race and one tap or warp could end in tears for you and your opponent… The track has some long run-offs but watch those rejoins.

(putting this message on all three posts; general / grid one / grid two)

Great race! Enjoyed it very much. I qualified 3rd on the grid in what was a one lap wonder behind Remy and Paul. When the flag dropped, all three of us made appalling starts, allowing Tim to blast his way into the lead. I passed Remy and attempted to pass Paul, but he was just too good on the brakes and eventually he pulled away from me with superior pace. On the second lap, I made a right pig's ear of the first corner, ran wide lost a couple places and began a drag race with John into the hairpin. Sadly he snatched a brake and spun round. I lost another place recovering round John and began to drive consistently, if not blindingly quick.

Eventually I passed the Ferrari infront, (not sure of the name) and passed Remy again when he spun at the last hairpin, only for him to catch me at a rate of knots and leave me for dust. For the next 10 laps or so, I was having a nice battle with Nat. Our pace was squarely matched and I just couldn't find a way through. Later he was kind enough to let me through into 4th. It remained that way until there was 6 laps left when I lost concentration, braked too late into the last corner and spun round, dropping down to 5th. From then on, I wasn't really in the right mindset, and kept making silly mistakes. With a lap to go, Remy suffered a galling loss of connection, promoting Nat and me, to 3rd on 4th. Not a bad days work by all means  ;D.

Congrats on GPLR for the win (if my maths if correct) though it was a close call. I look forward to seeing the replay.

Actually I think my maths were out - I counted Remy in 15th place when I shouldn't have.
GPLR still win but the margin is even smaller!  :o

Had a smashing race, although a sneeze attack mid drift ended my hopes of a win as they allowed Paul to escape  ;D
Had forgotten how much fun East London is in a 65 - every corner is opposite lock!  :angel:

Thank you UKGPL for this nice and fair race!
Special thanks to Vos for organizing the event on the UKGPL side!
All at GPLRACER are looking forward to race with you fair racers again someday in the future.

@Paulo: There is no need to insulte anyone. We are all here to have fun.
This is a quote of our GPLRACER rules:

Quote
§ 3.1 General behaviour

Friendly, respectful and polite manners are taken for granted at any time. Obscene expressions of any form and quality are not tolerated and result in the immediate exclusion from the challenge.
This rule applies to the entire racing activity (chat in the lobby and in the session) as well as in the
forum of GPLRACER.

My short race report:

I had a turbo start and got a bit over enthusiastic into T1! Sorry to Fulvio Policardi for that!

In the beginning I had some great fighting with Beattie,
later in the race with Julien, Clive, Thor and of course Hristo.
The highlight was going side by side for nearly one lap with Hristo.
I will certainly keep this replay!
Besides I got a negative rank during the race. :)

This was one of the best races I ever had!

Hristo summed it up pretty well:
Quote
Great, fair racing, some of the best I ever had in GPL. A pleasure to race with such people and an example of how it should be done. No blocking whatsoever, just a single change of line on the straights, and each of us leaving enough room when having another car on the side to account for warp.

Cu
Stefan
