I best do some practice for this, it's been ages since I've driven Mugello!

I've had a few laps here last week, but need more pracci. I'll be here tonight in the Exige trying to get it under 2 mins.

Is this championship open? I'd like to give it a go.

Thanks

Colin

1:54.5 best so far in the Exige but I was half a second up on that at one point before fluffing it. Front tyre temps are an issue and a slight lapse of concentration can yield rampant oversteer on the crested corners too. :o

After a bit of practice in the Exige I'm down to 1:52.717 on medium tyres and race fuel.

Like the track and the Exige, but struggling to get anywhere near pace or consistency. Best time 1:58.486 race trim. I'll try to squeeze another hour of pracci before the race.

1:55.1 in the Elise, but was up by 0.4 a couple of times & blew it pushing too hard.

hopefully will join you all this eve for this. Only ran about 6 laps so far with a 1:57 in the Elise with full race fuel and meds. Fun little cars around here though surprised how much understeer they have.

Yeah, think I had my rear wing down to about 3 in the end! lol

I've tried Mugello for the first time in GTR2 today. Looks good but I need more practice. Hope I can be a little competitive tonight ;D

I'm burning my tyres out after 2 laps ???

Adjusted pressures, wing, and tyre compound, same results. Up into 130deg across the rears and 115's on the fronts

I was burning up softs like you, but could almost get away with meds. You must be going too fast, it's not like it's a race you know  ;)

Sorry to all for the mayhem I caused, why the car felt so totally different from Q2 to race is anyone's guess but I had no control of my rear end in the slow corners. Rear tyre temps were stupidly high whereas they were fine during Q2 when I was consistently lapping 1-2 secs quicker.

After 2 woeful performances I won't be bothering again, sorry.

Bugger was enjoying that...then Disco Stu kicked in, race over  :'(

Great track Mugello, love it.  8) The little feisty lotus' were great fun on it too. Shame the Exiges seemed to have a second over them on a lap as it made a race of two halves.

Not had a disco mid race for absolute yonks. Think my cpu/gxf card was a little too hot from several hours of intensive gfx work in Rise of flight beforehand  :-\

Good fun whilst it lasted, was running 9th i think at time of disco.

Decided to retire rather than risk hitting someone...back end went for no apparent reason halfway through the last chicane.

One CTD in qually (froze, came back again with all of the menus corrupted) and another when I exited the race (graphics card driver had stopped responding, had to restart the PC). That's 3 in a week now. Don't think I'll bother getting an nVidia graphics card again.

Joined the server but didn't know if I'd be able to race or not till the 2min count down started. Loaded up a setup (the wrong one) & think I was last to join the grid.

Felt like I was quicker through most of the track then some of the guys just in front but like Picnic, my rear end was all over the place for some reason & I span it three times in four laps I think. :-\

Was running 2nd last & about to put a move on Smokey when my network connection died. Bummer, but I suppose at least I got a few laps in  :(

Went of early while trying to take advantage of a mistake by MJs tail happy Lotus. Then had a bigger off when I selected 1st instead of 2nd going into a corner to put me last. Pushed hard and caught Smokey who let me past down the straight - cheers mate :) and then went to work on catching Matt.

Couple of discos in front of me( I saw Legzy energising) and Matt went off on the last corner allowing me to get closer. Had a nice little scrap with Matt and almost had him when he ran slightly wide on the penultimate lap. Next time mate ;)

That was a good bit o'fun. Never driven at Mugello before, never raced a lotus before
I normally avoid cars with bags of cement in the back. made a very tame easy listening
setup, was off the pace, but oddly my best qual lap was when I did a few practice
laps with race setup at the end of qual  :o
low fuel and softs were not good for me apparently  ;)
Was almost keeping MJ in sight when he had "electrical problems" and sat quivering on the track
had some fun trying to keep Dave behind, had a misunderstanding in the 2nd to last with Laz
odd, Les Paul did the same thing near the end of the race, must be my crappy wide line there
Took a conservative not too loose setup, thinking rears would go off, but actually was other way round
fronts got very slidey, and i went off a couple of times misjudgin braking. took 27 secs to get back
on the track once, as the grass seemed to have a turntable on it, and I did donuts one way then t'other
ANyroad up, grat to Ade. Chortle, when you lapped me one from end, I assumed you woudl go steaming
past up the straight! but err why is he crawling past so slowly  ;D

Hi to all!

I was so enjoing this race. I like to drive Lotus and Mugello is a great track.
I'm back after a while and I hope I will make time to race in the Lotus cup.

Hope you will not punish me for missunderstanding in warming lap .

Eventfull race to say the least...I'm feeling a bit dizzy after all my spins
Fantastic track, and a fantastic Exige (once I found a setup!!)
Sorry for the collision Matt...I hope I didn't disrupt your race to much.

Laters
Laz

p.s. well done Ade on the win

No Biggie Lazlow. was a bit miffed at MJ then being out of reach, but he evaporated soon after anyway
One thing: In praccy earlier my pc had a Graphics driver prob which "WIndows has found a solution to"
update driver it said, doesn't it always... Maybe I will anyway.
The screen hung for about 5 secs then the game continued as if nothing had happened, "fault tolerant PC"
This I approve of  8)
Card is Nvdia 8800GT under Vista X64

Great fight for Elise victory! Started at the front but I braked too late in T1, TT went past.

A first little fight with a couple of attempts in the main straight, but I couldn't make the move, either brake too late and TT retook the place or brake a bit too early and he kept the place. I went off again, had to catch up again, then I finally did it after lots of action :D well done podiums

Valencia avenged?  :D

Another "almost" race although I actually did enoy it.

Couldn't get a handle on the rear end in practice and qually and ended up near the tail of the field. Car was a nightmare on cold tyres and the back just slithered away from me during the pace lap, putting me virtually to the back of the field. The good news was that the spin turned out to be an excellent way to warm the tyres, and pretty soon I was fighting my way back up the order.

Once into the race the car was transformed - it's a complete mystery to me why it handled so much better in the race but it really was a lot nicer to drive, with even tyre wear and temperatures.

It was almost a stunning drive up to 6th place, ahead of JPS and Lazlow. Almost, that is, but not quite - on the final lap I blinked at the wrong moment braking for turn 1 and, yep, round she went, into the kitty litter :o and letting Lazlow, and worse still my nemesis JPS, past. ::)

Pity about all the CTDs and discos - by the sound of it half the field need to sort the cooling out on their graphics cards! :P

Well chuffed with my first GTR2 win  was getting worried in qualifying when i got into the 1:51s and found myself in pole position  :o thanks to Jose for beating my time  and saving me the embarrassment of leading what would have been my first formation lap (would have only made a mess of it) :D Had to give Jose a bit of space until i could work out a good place to get past ( you were getting a bit out of shape round the last bend) when i gave you a nudge up the backside (hope there was no damage done) got a bit of a run on him down the S/F straight and out braked him into the 1st corner, could only keep a half second lead on him until i saw him go off at the last bend :( It was then a case of keeping a good 20 second gap to  second place to give my tyres a bit of a rest.

Chortle, when you lapped me one from end, I assumed you woudl go steaming
past up the straight! but err why is he crawling past so slowly  ;D

I ran with 10 wing to be on the safe side (cant drive any of the cars in GTR2 with the wing set below 9 anyway) took soft tyres all round for the race as they had less wear, although they did get a bit hot when pushing it with Jose for the first half of the race.

                                                  Great race, love the Exige
                                                            Cheers Ade

I had a very average race. Was cooking my softs after a few laps and meds seemed to be holding up just okay in qually and praccy. So, went with hards on the rear which wasn't the best idea. Temps were fine, but rear end grip wasn't great.

I also ran with 6 rear wing and I was getting passed very easily on the main straight....

I had wing 6. You were getting blown away down the main straight because your exit onto it was rubbish :P  and because these cars seem to have a massive slipstream! :o ;D
