Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/), 2.1 patch from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/) and enable terrain patch.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R;group=214)
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of every-one's connection will be reduced.
(6) Remember that P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function, but our gentleman's agreement is that everyone will stick to a speed limit for the pit-lane of 40mph/60kph.

IMPORTANT
UKPnG Season One will continue to use our 'clubmans' approach, the idea that the faster drivers are in the slower cars, as hopefully it should encourage more close racing.

The cars chosen can be divided into 4 chassis groups:

A
Porsche 906-8

B
Porsche 906-6, Porsche 906-Langcheck, Porsche 906-E

C
Porsche 911 RSR 3L

D
Porsche 911 IROC, Porsche 914

Our "regulars" can be, very roughly divided into Four groups. (If you're name's not listed below & you'd like to race with us, please say Hi on this thread & give us an idea of your pace :)

GROUP 1 can only choose from slowest chassis group D
Dan Minton, Madd, Paul 968, Ginsters, PR, Steve Holmes, Jos Verstappen, TrueTom, Jose Arrogantio, Ayrton4_94, Manteos, Pippomax, Blunder, API, IvAlAx, Ade, lelero.

GROUP 2  can choose between chassis C and D.
Ade, Oily, [Poodle]Keith, FMG, Watty, phspok, MJ, Mike Cook, Lazlow, Legzy, Pepz, SamB, Psuedo, icarus17, KING.

GROUP 3 can choose between chassis B, C and D.
DaveShep, Spanner, Tinman, Geoffers, Ross, Phil Gilliland, Tibernius, Picnic, 57Goldtop, Lars Sch, Mcfids, Tim Robey.

GROUP 4 can choose between chassis A, B, C and D.
PaulWBird, Alex vV, Wiltshire Tony, LigelC, Sandor Mooijekind, Lorenzo Galluzzi, Bill Thomas, Oilseal, Jimmer.

Hope you all enjoy.

One of my favourite tracks. 8) Porsche 911RSR please. ;)

(Any particular reason why this is in the UKGTR section instead of the P&G one?)

Are you two having a laugh? Have you tried taking the '911 RSR 3L' round this track! Ade & me are having a bash right now & so far results show.... :death:

I used to drive Honda NSX GTs and modified Tommy Kaira Skylines at Road Atlanta when I still played Forza. So it depends whether they've narrowed the track for this one.

Dont worry Tibs, i served up mr legzy a big slice of humble pie by setting the quickest laptime this eve....in an RSR  ;)  ;D

Great fun on the server tonight with several of the lads and we seemed to turn it into a 911 frenzy with RSRs and IROCs. A right blast. 8)

1:28.171 in the RSR
1:30.784 (i think?) in the IROC or was it 1:31 ?

IROC feels brilliant fun around here with tons of opposite lock and steering inputs. Yeehaw  8)

I might have to postpone my bday so i can race  ;)

I'm still choking on my slice of pie, but in the meantime I've updated the available cars list.

We're going to have a Porka only race.

While this is obviously just a futile attempt to keep MJ quiet for the rest of the year :-X ;), it will also have the benefit of allowing us more time to choose/perfect what will be our new Clubmans system, ready for the next race.

See Post No.2 for full car details.

NOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo! How can I drive the IROC if it's in group C?  :taz: Can't we make the 906-8 group A and move everything down?

To be honest, the 914 might be just as quick as the IROC here - the first few corners are a bit of a nightmare for the lardy arsed porker.

Actually, that works much better. All cars now moved down one group (so everyone gets a better car if they want it) 8). Thanks Paul.

Hmm, a real mixed blessing for moi.  :-\ On the one hand its  :jumpjoy: but on the other, theres a fair chance i wont be home to race it  :'(  I'll have to decline all attempts to get me into a pub and restaurant on my bday. Perhaps i can play the grumpy old git who doesnt want to celebrate it as it makes me even older than i was  ;D

The cars chosen are a real joy around here. The track feels like half rally special tarmac stage, half race track to me. Despite its narrowness in places i vaguely remember having a cracking race here many moons ago in GTL using american cars. :o Those final two sweeping downhill rights, like black ski runs!, were ace for having the back end hanging out in full power drift.  :thumbup1:

I hope we dont alienate some drivers though by having an all Porsche line up  :-\ despite it being a fantastic set of cars in P&G  8) Not quite sure what other car you could put into the mix that would be comparable on handling & pace around here to keep any anti-porker fans enchanted. :-\

Here is what i got in my very first approach to Road Atlanta ....

IROC  1.29.424
914    1.29.409

It seems to me that Legzy did a very good job in grouping those 2 cars. Quit different behaviors lead exactly to the same lap time !!!!

Hi guys :)
I've done some laps with some cars. That's the result:
Porsche 911 IROC after 100 laps in qualy setting. 1.26.7xx I think that's the best I can do... maybe I have other 2 tenths, no more...
Porsche 906-6 after 15 laps 1.26.010, surely 25 low it's possible, and maybe a 24 high...
Porsche 906-8 after 15 laps  1.25.9, but 24 low it's possible
Porsche  911 3.0 RSR after 50 laps 1.24.5 in VDA server, 1.24.9 in ukpng, I'm near my limit with this one...

I can only say that the 911 RSR seems stronger than his group, and especially in the first bumpy part of the track, it's harder to make some mistake with that car compared to the 906 that got so much troubles when the bottom touches the ground. I had so much troubles to be constant with the 906 due to that troubles... Anybody else tried the 906 yet? I want to know if it's only a setup matter, but i didn't reach to erase that bump troubles. Cu :)

No Mark, I consider me a human, not an alien, but the fact is that in this period we have no other championship, and i use to play only with P&G at the moment... It's my favourite mod, i like it so much. In a track like RoadAtlanta, the knowledge of circuit is the primary thing. After more than 200 laps I started to understand the right gear for the corners, and especially the right lines to be fast. After 15-20 laps i was in your same conditions with the 911 RSR, then I improved so much my times, but it's all a matter of training.
Cu :)

managed another 28 laps tonight online and shaved a few more tenths off my IROC time: 1:30.151 now. :) Had a 29.8 on the cards but blew the penultimate corner  ::)..it will come  ;)

I wish i had the time and patience to do 200 laps !  :-X

Any chance of a TT Manteos? Got my hands full with tokens and the iRacing Lotus, so I'd love to know where you find so many extra seconds in the IROC!

Title: Re: UKPnG Season 1 Clubmans - Road Atlanta - Aug 11
Post by: Manteos on August 06, 2009, 03:20:47 AM +0100
The answer is in the hour of this post :) :) Paul if you make 100 laps with Porker IROC you will destroy my lap time... Anyway, remember to turn in qualif session. All my laptimes are done in that session... really more grippy than Practice 1, that i totally dislike...
With the IROC it's really important the right gear in every corner... change gear make you waste precious time :). It's only a little suggestion, you will see that will work. And in the first sector, to make a good time you have to do the right lines. Concentrate on this :) GN guys :)
P.S Sorry for my ignorance in abbreviations... but what's the meaning of TT?

i cant believe Manteos is an incredible 4 seconds a lap faster in the IROC !!?  :o That is quite an amazing time of 1:26 even if it was in the qually session. I know/think i can get in the 29's with a very good lap but doubt i would find an extra 4 seconds  :-[

Could be up for some lappage later on if anyones about?

What you might also not want to believe, is that Manteos seems to be suggesting that the '911 RSR 3L' is too fast for your group to drive it MJ  :o. Does he not know it's your Birthday?  ;)

Surely it shouldn't be about peoples ultimate pace but the relative perfomance between the groups and the fact the RSR is 1.8 secs faster proves it. :-\

Title: Re: UKPnG Season 1 Clubmans - Road Atlanta - Aug 11
Post by: Mark J on August 06, 2009, 11:33:10 PM +0100
i was taking the IROC anyway, so wouldnt really matter if you took the RSR away. I had assumed quite early that it was took quick for the other cars in the group when i had the fastest time on that evening!    However, now seeing that our Italian friends are setting such blistering pace in the IROC etc then i may well revert back to the RSR to give myself half a blinking chance  :-[ ..a bit demoralising seeing those times sometimes. Did another 20 laps tonight but couldnt better my 1:30.151 in the IROC. At least i can set fairly regular 1:30's now after a few laps.
I really am at a loss to see how i could possibly find that much more time around this track  ??? Good fun all the same  :)

Post by: Paul968 on August 06, 2009, 11:55:03 PM +0100
Now if only Manteos would come up with a timetrial, we could all have a look  :) Like you Mark, I am surprised at the margin, as I wouldn't ever expect to be anywhere near that much quicker than you once you know a circuit well. I only did a handful of laps the other night, and best was a low 30.  Hard to see where I could find 2 secs, let alone 4y, but then again it is a very challenging track. Trouble is I don't want to chop and change from PnG to iRacing, so I want to get sebring out of the way before trying the IROC again. My money would be on the 906 at a track like this, so not sure the RSR is out of place.

Post by: Mcfids on August 07, 2009, 09:51:36 AM +0100
I'm really struggling to get any sort of consistency and speed with these cars and track combo; 1.33 was my best in the RSR after many, many offs. It's like driving a motorised pendulum and when you throw in the high speed crests, it's a lottery on whether you're facing the right way on the other side :(

Don't get me wrong, they are fun to drive but I can't see myself lasting 5 mins let alone the whole race, and I don't want to take anyone else out. The cobra at interlagos for the last race was a walk in the park compared to this ;D. Manteos's 1.24 lap hasn't done an awful lot for the ego either  :alien: ....  ;)

Is it just my incompetence or are any other non-aliens struggling as well?

Guys, as I told you before, my 26.7 it's pretty near to my time limit, done with a qualy setup. In race setup I'm on a pace of 28.0-28.5... don't worry cause i think that some of you will be near to that race pace with a 906 or a 911 RSR.
About the time trial you should see some VDA more often during these days, because we have our server offline for the next 10-15 days, then if you see Ayrton or Pippomox turning around the track with a 911 IROC, i can assure you that they are 2 great masters of RoadAtlanta.
Today is my Birthday :) and like yesterday evening I think I'm gonna spend my night with some friends to celebrate it.
If you want to have a TT with me I will be able to drive again on Saturday & Sunday, when the drunkenness will leave my brain :)!!!
Hope to see someone of you tomorrow evening for a train together, i will try to show some lines to down the time, but the most important thing remains the gear, and the use of manual clutch.
P.S. Ade, I don't see any time done by you... what's up? Are you on vacation? I'm really scared about this :). Hope to see you soon.
Bye all :)

I think you misunderstand Manteos. A TT (timetrial) is a saved lap which can be loaded in timetrial mode and driven against. If you don't have one then a hotlap replay would be interesting to look at.

I've done an Hot Lap of 27.3 into your server in qualif session, because i dislike to turn with the Ghost car near me... As i said to Legzy, I'm not able to upload it in the forum... If someone of you have some suggestion, I will post it soon! I reached even a 27.6 in TT, but seems less grippy than the qualif 1 session... If you want i can post even that lap...
Cu :)!

Finally i understand how to use the TT... I uploaded a 1.27.559... Hope it would be useful :)

Manteos...where have you uploaded it too? I am fascinated to see where you gain so much time, as i am sure many are here. Though a replay file would be just as useful to glean any tips.

Looking forward to chasing your rabbit  :)

I am refusing beer this eve so may be around later for some online shenanigans if anyone else is? T'was good fun last friday on the server. Though i had two pints already  ;)

In TT mode you find my hot lap if you clic on "LAP ONLINE". You will see some laps done by some people, and at the bottom you will find my lap ([VDA] Manteos 1.27.559). I think that you have to click on upload, and then go for your TT against my ghost car... Take a look of which gear i use in every corner, as I said yesterday I avoid to change gear so much time because is a waste of precious time...
I hope it will be useful! CU :)

ah you finally pipped my RSR time from last friday then Legzy  ;)  means i'll have to jump back in it and up the ante  :-*

Only joined the server quite late last night and just couldnt get into it after spending all eve flying online in the Rise of flight sim with the Legends boys. Was trying to re-adjust my brain to using the shorter gear ratios in the IROC as that seems to be what the now fastest guys are using, whereas my fastest times had been set with the longer final ratio so far. But it had been niggling at me that anyone using a shorter shift in the race would get by me everytime even if i could do regular 1:30s. Problem is now ive dropped into the 31's using that shorter shift  ::)
Not had a chance to chase Manteos' rabbit yet so that may yield some pointers.

The 914 or 906 may be a good bet for anyone struggling with the 911's unique handling. It does take a lot of patience if your not used to driving it. Paul managed a 1:28 in the 914 so it is competitive.

I've now managed a 29.1 on race fuel in the 911 3.0 - tried the 906 but just couldn't string more than half a lap together without falling off. Default cambers are mad but 'correcting' them (based on tyre temps) just made things worse. ???

I thought I've raced here before, but on driving it the track looked very different.... then realised this track ain't Road America  ::)

I really don't like this track, it has some nasty bumps on it, which gives the 906 problems, particularly in the last turn. I've tried raising the ride height & stiffening the suspension but it is still a handful with full fuel  :(

Also tried the 911 RSR but I keep losing the back end when exiting the slower corners. Am I driving it wrong or is it setup?

My best times are:

911 RSR - 1.30.5
906-6 - 1:31.0

bah i blew my planned evening of P&G, got distracted and flew all night online in Rise of flight again. By the time i got online later i just couldnt get into it.
Still doubt i can even be home in time for this tomorrow, too many people want a piece of me on my bday...mad fools ;)

Hope i can, but it may be very last minute and these races usually fill up fast. May well have to take the RSR w/b as only chance i have of trying to keep up with those fast Italians ! Will choose on night, dont mind either 911. :)

Looks like it could be a one off though :-\

I was quite chuffed to manage a 1:27.0 in qually setup last night (with 11 of us on the server) ;D
Sadly I think I've managed only a whole two other laps in the 27's

Tonight's Drivers please take note:

I'm sure you've seen the disappointingly long list of incidents from Lime Rock (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6511#event1805) now. That is not a normal example of our racing here & hopefully any kind of repeat performance will be avoided. We are here for good clean racing only.

With that in mind, Road Atlanta is a fun track but it's a tough track. The Porsche's we're using tonight are fun to drive but they are cars that are capable of catching even the best drivers out. Please do enjoy the racing tonight, but use some thought when you're driving near others. The race is 27 laps & will not be won on lap one turn one (or the slow turn two chicane either!).

Please remember our #1 rule on passing for position is, and always has been: "Where drivers are racing for position, they are expected to display a high level of sportsmanship". If you have not familiar with this leagues rules, please see them here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3349.msg54427#msg54427) before you race.

Cheers all
 :)

p.s. I think I'm turning into Psuedo  ;)

I'm still not consistent enough to stay on the track with this car/track combo for the whole race so I'll give it a miss tonight. I'd hate to take someone out :-[

Have a good 'un!

That would be a shame Mcfids :(.
Couple of thoughts...
You're not trying to use a setup from a different track here are you? I tried that & the car killed me at every turn! This seems to be a very specific track.
Have you tried out the 914? It's not the fastest car obviously, but it's possibly the most controllable/consistent.
Have you downloaded any of our online setups? I could give you my '911 RSR 3L' if you like, it's relatively safe through the slow bits but not too understeery on the fast bits. Let me know :).
Or come on Team Speak before 8pm, normally one of us will know how to help reduce a problem (& it's good fun).

I do hope to still see you join us  :)

Ade is putting his 914 setup online in the " ! SROU PnG" folder.
He says that it's tricky on the 1st lap & then it's fine.  :)

turned round, didnt see start signal, set5 off in 25th place then 26th out of 25
huh! laps were not counting down. had driven 2 1/2 hours to be home for this race
so carried on , lost it watching lap counter instead of track, tried to gert out of the way
sorry to anyone who hit me.

Same happened to me Matt, really ticked off, was having good scraps all the way with Pribs (nice overtake on the outside) and Tibs and then windows updater killed the race for me by freezing my pc, not happy at all.

Actually enjoyed the race more than I thought even getting up to a phantom 7th at one point!

PS. I hope I didn't cause any issues to anyone, feel free to pm me and give me a ticking off if I did!

That was brilliant fun, i intend to slurp Guiness before every race from now on   It must calm my pre race nerves as i banged in a PB in practise within 3 laps, by nearly a second  :o and then set a string of laps faster than i had gone all week  :P

Was gunning for pole position but my last gasp laps got thwarted by traffic and only bagged 3rd, but was still chuffed.  :)

Very very pleased with my win  (as you can imagine ;) ) had a superb race with Ayrton from start to finish. :thumbup1: We raced within 0.2-2 secs for the first 17 laps and it took a lot of concentration   then on lap 17/18 i got a little too much oversteer in a corner, caught it but allowed Ayrton to pull out a 3-4 second lead. It stayed that way for about 5 laps or so until we caught traffic and i managed to close the gap right down as his tyres started to go off a little. It was very close again for final few laps with a few side by side moments and great clean racing.
It almost went very pear shaped with about 2 laps to go when naughty lapped Mr Icarus seemed to race the pair of us rather than filtering us through and it so nearly ended in tears with both myself and Ayrton getting contacts from his 911  :sweatdrop:  thankfully we all made it to the end without losing positions and i grabbed my birthday win...whoohoo :sorcerer:

Unlucky to Matt and few others with techie issues, crappy netcode. :(

and thanks for all letting me win on my birthday in my beloved RSR  ;)   ;D

An early bath for me too I'm afraid. The start was mad as I was completely confused by Matt driving backwards through the grid, passing me just before the green light (which I missed as a result). Lost a few places but made a couple back in the first few corners (although I touched a 911 on my inside that I didn't know was there - sorry). Then it was all rather frenetic, with my IROC slow in some places but quick in others, but all the quick places I got bottled up behind guys in quicker cars so had to slow down. This gave the quick guys behind an even better run, so more places went. Luckily a few ahead fell off, so I was still in around 9th and in a huge gaggle of cars when we came down the hill in the esses to find Matt stranded on the racing line. I only saw him very late as the cars ahead parted and had no chance to avoid a mightly wallop - engine dead, game over  :(

Shame really as the racing was very close and looked like it was going to stay that way. Can't say I enjoyed the IROC there as it hates the multiple changes of direction, but you can't expect a car to like every track. On to Daytona (do we have to?    ;))

The race was perfect but the tyre's wire forbid me to take the lead until the finish of the race.

Congratulations for the podium and for Mark. His race was simply perfect

Thanks all for the entertainment.
See you to the next race.

After "struggling" in practice (aka spinnng over all the hill crests, even that one on the back straight!) I had to give up with the 906 and dropped into the day-glow green 911 RSR 3.0 at the end of practice. Still didn't like the way it drove, but at least I could keep it on the track, so that was all I cared about. Learnt the car in qually and then straight to race.

Managed to qualify 10th somehow. Track knowledge helped I guess, but I've barely driven PnG and hate the Porsches with a vengeance :whistling:. However, race started well as I was up to 5th after T1 as some people were caught napping at the lights and some had problems being put on the grid badly by the game :cursing:. Was soon up to 3rd as Legzy made contact with the then 3rd place. Manteos then challenged me for 3rd, but after I worked out how to drive the 911 "ish" I managed to maintain the gap for the most part, nearer the end pulling out a bigger gap for some reason.

No idea what tyres I chose, forgot you could even choose LOL. Whatever the defaults are is what I had. Was 20 wear on the front left at the end which is great, despite smoking into most of the corners.

3rd and 5th for Team Shark, hoorah! Go Gizmo!

Well done on the in win Jonzo, or do you want to own up to letting Mr Schumacher be you this week? ;) :-*

The force feedback was a bit wierd at that track, it was really jumpy so I turned it down for the race to make life easier. Obviously did the trick as I didn't go off once.

I had to try and drive to the back as the game plonked me facing the armco in the first few rows, the timer had also gone squiffy as it showed there was still  44 seconds before the start, obviously you could see me and at least I got off the front of the grid before the start.  >:(

Not my best race.

Some crazy stuff at the start; I thought for a minute some wreckers had gatecrashed the party, but it was enough to put me right off step for the first lap or so.

Almost had a coming together with API as I locked up going into the awkward downhill turn 10 and skewed across the track. Fortunately I think he saw me and managed to avoid me.

Race was summed up for me when I ran wide to let Legzy through thinking he was lapping me whin it was for position.

Big grats to Mark for a win on his birthday.  :jumpjoy:

The game starts plonking people badly on the grid when it reaches the game slot limit. Reducing slots by 1-4 can help alleviate this problem.

Woo! 5th! Totally unexpected!

(although I touched a 911 on my inside that I didn't know was there - sorry)

That was me I think - was trying to leave room after that crazy start as I couldn't be sure you knew I was there. It was only a light touch I think, my car felt good all race, in fact my tyres seemed to hold up very well compared to most, helped I'm sure by me trying very hard not to lock the wheels up under braking too often.

I've never ever been able to drive any 911 in any sim before - not in GTR 1 or 2, nor GTL, nor the PCCs in rFactor - so I was really surprised by how well the car suits my driving style. I think it may be the cross-ply tyres - very much more forgiving than modern radials. At least, I assume the old 911s are on cross-plies. Anyhoo, after a few laps I was able to pull away from the pack behind, and whilst I couldn't make any impression on the cars ahead, I was never under any pressure, and had only one minor spinless off, not a bad performance given that I'd never driven the car before yesterday.

The game starts plonking people badly on the grid when it reaches the game slot limit. Reducing slots by 1-4 can help alleviate this problem.

It's usually a symptom of the network struggling - if somebody has a bad connection they can experience it even with a smaller grid. A bigger grid just puts more stress on everyone's connections.

That's assuming the slots are correctly assigned in the .TRK file - an off-line test with 28 cars will show up any problems.

Hmmm, a disappointing race but I knew it was going to be a struggle around here.

Somehow I managed to break into the 1:29's on my qually lap at the end when I fueled up for the race. Wasn't expecting that  :o

I made a pig's ear of the start, I was distracted by Matt's 911 reverse grid driving and missed the green light, and everyone behind me stormed past  ::)

I spend most of the race racing TT & API's 914s but every so often I would get out of shape on the last hump allowing a few guys to pass by.

At least I don't have to race here again in a while  ;)

Congrats on your birthday win MJ  ;D

0 practice laps before the event.
6 and a half laps practice during practice session
4 practice laps during qualifying session.

Qualified at 25th.
Took advantage on the weird start and by lap 3 or 4 was in 16th. On the uphill fast chicanes
I was hit hard and spun losing 5 places. Lost all the possibility to aim to a top 10 finish.
undoubtedly, the 914 is easy to drive but lack of power under acceleration and top speed.
I believe that in a track without so many sections which power was needed, the 914
could fight for a top 3 place. Or in the hundred laps practice boys hands.
Nice (unfortunately short) battle with Madd. And a huge fight between me and Blunder
at the begining of the race for a few laps and after a short break (after my incident),
a nice and totally fair fight for some laps near the end of the race.

Congrats on your win Mark, well done!
Congrats to podium and to all finishers.
Well done to Tibernius for being the first 906 and to API for being the first 914.

Cheers

Great fun race..
I had a good start that fired my car in 3rd position, but after first laps I've made some big mistakes and my position fall to 21st and I begun the climb to 9th end position
probably without these errors my end position was better than 9th, but I'm pleased at all.
I'm sorry and apologise for a collision from rear I've made to a 914 owner (at this moment I forget his name and I've no time to see replay  ;D) and the least I could do was to slow and return him the position..
I'm sorry specially for Mark Jonzo, winner of the race, because in the last laps I'm not warned by a blue flag and I not let him to pass me easy.. sorry again
Thanks and see you in the next race..

No much thing to say about that race...
Started from 11th position I took advantage at the start with my holy manual clutch, and gained 5 position til the first corner. Then I started a good fight against Tibs & Simon Gymer, I managed to pass Tibs and then i tried to overtake Simon, but after some 6-7 laps his pace becomes better than mine, and i lost 3-4 tenth every lap. The gap was never over the 4 seconds and when he did a little mistake I tried the last assault, with poor result. In last 6-7 laps i had to give up cause my tyres said STOP pushing :(... riding on canvas it's not my speciality... I was happy to obtain a great 4th place against the monstrous RSR 3.0, and collect another great result for VDA team!!!

Grats to MJ for his birthday victory :)

Grats to Ayrton for his 3rd podium in 3 races, that allow him to be on top of the Leaderboard :)

Grats to Simon for your constant pace!

Grats to all finishers in this difficult race :)

See you in Daytona :)

I decided to race in the end - thanks to Ade for the 914 setup - and while I was dog slow I could at least keep it on the track :)

Started at the back but after the obligatory PnG chaotic start, I made up a few places. Pretty unspectacular from then on and after about 10mins it became clear I wasn't going to trouble the scorers in any shape or form and gave up. I'm just not compatible with these Porsches :(

After that I enjoyed watching the battle up front with MJ - a good win and well done to the podium and finishers.

Must admit i was expecting an onslaught by our Italian contingent as every session i had seen them running in, indicated they would lock out the top 6, what happened guys? Your race night pace didnt match up to all your previous lap times  ???..apart from Ayrtons  ;)

That's assuming the slots are correctly assigned in the .TRK file - an off-line test with 28 cars will show up any problems.
Just did an offline 28 car test and everything was fine

Must admit i was expecting an onslaught by our Italian contingent as every session i had seen them running in, indicated they would lock out the top 6, what happened guys? Your race night pace didnt match up to all your previous lap times  ???..apart from Ayrtons  ;)

As I told you yesterday in the chat, I experienced a very strange behaviour of the game at the race start ..... I was in the grid while Matt was driving in the opposite way and I quit from the race for a while (the countdown was still at 30 sec left at that moment) ... After that I quickly tried to get the grid again but all of you were already started ... Very disappointed for this ....I really wanted to make your birthday a bit more complicated  ;D ;D

Got a great view of the poor drivers who were messed up at the start. I've no idea why it happened there as i can't recreate it offline  :-\.

Went on to really enjoy what turned into an extremely eventful race. Started 5th, got up to 3rd briefly... but waited for Icarus to rejoin the track after we'd traded some paint. Don't think either one of us did anything wrong, but he came off pretty badly figured waiting was the right thing to do. We got going again in about 12th & was soon back up to 9th & chasing Paul who was chasing someone who was chasing someone.... & unfortunately a back-marker had spun through the downhill section. Paul couldn't avoid him, but while Lazlow & me did, we got hit from the rear & that sent me back to 22nd spot. Worked my way back up to 9th again & got past Lele on the home straight, but he just clipped my rear end as we started up the hill. He seemed to hold but then his car lunged into the wall on the right. Again, I figured I'd done nothing wrong but decided to wait at the top of the hill for my unfortunate opponent (we're all friends here :)). Sadly his race was over as he escaped back to the pits & I got going again in 17th this time.

Well, I managed to finish in 14th spot in the end while my pace was probably good enough for a top five I guess. But i did enjoy the fun of coming through the pack a couple of times. A very tricky track that paired with some very nasty tricky cars, so well done to the Gymer twins on such successful P&G clubmans debuts & everyone that finished. Finally thanks to everyone's cooperation for letting MJ get the fastest lap & winning on his B'day. You can all drive full pace again next time :-*

Onto tokens at Daytona next (all will be revealed)  8)

Just a quick one Legz/ WT - had commitments last night or would have been there with bells on. No reflection on your car/ track choice - I know how you're sensitive about these things ;)
You were certainly missed on TS mate, exactly who's driving were we supposed to laugh at? :P
