I have the same overheating problem I had last time out in the MC12 ??? I'm not particularly aggressive with gear changes, never really been a problem before, but get the engine is overheating warning after only a couple of laps even with vents on 4. Didn't have this problem last season, have the tweaks altered something?

Just my luck if pc holds out and car goes pop

IIRC there weren't any engine tweaks to the MC12 at all. Though I could be wrong!

Latest read me says "10kg reduction and 2% more torque" which is as before? I've got time to test the MC12 a little this week so I'll let you know if problem persists. I also swear blind its slower this season

I have been doing a bit of practise in the Marcos but, it is beyond my capabilities to drive that thing at the moment.

I tried your Zuhai set up TT, it really makes the car more drivable but it is still to hard for me. I have no idea how you drive that thing, I would never finish a race it. I am finding things hard enough in the Viper. ::)

Another interesting virtual start time. :) Excellent.

If I want to delete that headlight mod mentioned in the thread about last weeks LE race, just delete the two files? Is it safe?

Looking forward to a dry race. ;D

Do i need to download the GT1 and GTC classes? I ask because they still have the old versions underneath them (i know they are just skins but.....)  ???  ::)

You only need the physics pack, the others add the eye candy.

Traditionally we've not had good success with wireless connections, the variable latency seems to cause lots of warping. Suck it and see but don't be surprised if people see you warping.

Another disco for me 7 or 8 laps in :(

Sorry for the tap coming out of Mercedes Jorgen, I braked but obviously not enough. Got collected by Smokey; hope I didn't cause too much damage.

Remainder of race spent catching the GTC guys, but heart wasn't really in it tonight.

Sorry to Jose and Hol for start. I honestly didn't touch anything and my pit limiter turned off. Confused the hell outta me and sorry it lost both, mostly Hol, time. That peed me off and set me well on my way :'(

At least my pc lasted but I honestly didn't enjoy muscling the MC12 around that awfull track. Thx to GTC gents for doing the business  :) Congrats to all the runners and riders.

Thanks JonM.

Fun race however felt a bit rusty after holiday.

A quick sorry to MattRowe, I was tapped from behind myself (I think by Blunder, correct me if Iam wrong Blunder) which then forced me to hit you MattRowe, only honourable thing to do then was to wait for you, a couple of bends along, however ended up letting Blunder through as well who was right behind you :o

Anyway good fun...the two non skinned Porsches Legzy/Purdie seem to produce alot of judder/lagg everytime I got behind you..for your/engineers info only. :)

Well, my  :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: :censored: pit crew did it to me again!!! I came in, and had to que behind someones red lambo for 15-20 secs. Did'nt help I'd already got 145 secs of rear suspension damage from getting tapped earlier that they did'nt fix either. Sham cause I was running 4th, 1-2 secs behind SBG for the first 20 mins, only to then have damage cause a loss of about 2 secs per lap. then pit mess up, came out in 10th!!!!! Congrats to podium, heart goes out to teamies SBG & Goldtop for your woes. Bring back the Tuesday sprints so I don't have to pit anymore!!

Nice race tonight. :)

No worries SBG, I was wondering what was going on. Luckily a few drivers gave me safe enough room to rejoin so I only lost 2 places. (I know I should have waited but it seemed that I could join safely).

I had many great battles tonight, SBG, JohnM, TT, Busi, Stew and a few others. Mainly Jose. Had an epic fight with Jose for most of the race. We even came out of the pits in the same position as before we went in. :D

I really wanted the fight to end with an overtake but, eventually I lost concentration and turned into Jose. Sorry bud. :'(
In so doing, I also lost 3rd place but Jose was the faster driver.

Well done podiums.

Well done Jorgen, keeping team Psuedo in the points with the absence of the #1 driver. ;D

I found the race tough going TBH. It's the first time I've ran in the Saleen and the car is a dream to start with but as the tyres wear the back end just got more and more twitchy and in the first stint I span a good few times but just backed off a little for the 2nd when the tyres started going.....That didn't stop me running out of fuel mind :-[ In the first stint I had 2 contacts, 1 with Busi. Dunno if I was at fault TBH very hard to call. The 2nd contact was with Stewprovo, I was having a look down his inside and totally missed my braking point, luckily he stayed on and didn't lose to much time EDIT: Look like you did, sorry. I think I'll try another car next race.
Good race all. Grats Joss and unlucky Busi :)
Cya soon JonM

Crazy one! I feel I could've won, but I couldn't do anything in the key moments with such top speed difference from FreQ.

Started on pole but FreQ's rocket flew past me at the backstraight, could do nothing but try to get stuck behind. Jose went ver deep into the hairpin in the following lap and I spun trying to get a fast exit from there chaos  back to 8th I think.

Started a comeback in which I had some difficulties getting past Stewprovo (nice one mate! ;D). Oh and a very very hot moment including myself, H@L, TT and a backmarker, all together into the hairpin, I was last before the corner, first exiting it :P so I was soon up to 3rd, then 2nd when Jon had some sort of problem maybe with goldtop's frozen car?

Kept pushing and was getting closer and closer to FreQ, both of us with very worn tyres (I was on hard rears, undriveable :o ), but he spun and I took the lead before pitting.

Still in the lead after the pits but only 1 second ahead. FreQ did some very fast first laps and I fell asleep, when I woke up he was behind me in the backstraight - doh! flew past again lol

Very nice battle from then on, I didn't know what to do to get past! Tried all sorts of racing lines but the Viper was too fast in any straight... then I got the stop&go from 3 warnings at the exit of T1... thank god I could rejoin in 2nd.

Grats FreQ and Purdie :)

About my favourite race ever. I had a race-long battle with API and we were almost identically matched even in the pit stop. There was barely a second between us for the whole race and only lapping GT1s caused any real change in the gap which reached 3s at one point.
Fantastic race and well done API and the podiums!

Disappointing fuel economy from the BMW which needed the best part of 140l of fuel when others could go the whole race without refueling. It's not as if it has the highest top speed.

Pleased to get this one out the way & basically stole the 3rd step on the podium from Prof  :-[.

Decided to take advantage of my seasonal one car swap allowance at this race. GTC F430 just seems to suffer overheating tyres more then other cars (in testing) & lacks 'oomph' on the straights, so had a go with the Porka (to show AWOL MJ how it's done ;)). Knew I didn't have the pace on this track to compete lap by lap (didn't fancy many laps practice here) with the fastest GTC chaps, so loaded up the fuel & hoped the tyres would last till the end.

Purdie was last to pit (except me) giving me a false 1st GTC slot (but he wasn't to know  ) & I guess you were pushing all you could after your stop to close up the gap? While I was in front, I was kind of hoping for a late rain storm, so we'd all have to change tyres... but it wasn't to be & i pitted for a drop of fuel & popped out the pits about 5 secs ahead of Prof & API's battle. I think that between them fighting & the lapping cars, I just about got away with my badly suffering tyres.

Simon missing tonight & it being Purdie's first race has meant my '3rd' here is enough to sit me at the top of the GTC table... for the next two weeks at least ;D

Legzy

p.s. had a small coming together with someone at the hairpin, not quite sure if it was Goldtop who I'd flashed through & he'd had a problem pulling away, or if it was a car I guess trying to follow him through?  :-\  Not sure who that was, but if it was my fault (please let me know) on either of you, sorry. If it was your fault... I look forward to an apology  ;)  ;)

You do realize that this means you have to stick with the Porker or suffer a points penalty?

:o :o :o ;) Yeah, I do mate cheers.
It was a close call at the start of the season (between either Porka, either Fezza or the Morgan) & I went with the F430 because I'd skinned it (for the GT2 car really)

Had our usual fight with H@l at the start and his Viper was more nimble this time. :) Well, at least after he passed. :P  We came to a stationary car just before the hairpin and I wisely chose to go on the outside... ::)
We had a fight with Jorgen after pitting and after his mistake I managed to stay in front - man that Lister goes through the corners like on tracks! :o
6th for the Marcos/me combo isn't that bad. :D

GTCs were great. :)

Just a quick one!
I spun at the slow lefthander a few laps into the race and caused a few 'issues' !  :(
Sorry guys!
Was lovin driving that F360 but for some reason when I really started pushing it seemed to come round on me under heavy braking  3 or 4 times after that!
Legzy tells me it is a design 'feature' !  ;D
Will be trading it in for something else next time!

Yeah, unfortunately I didn't make it back from Sunday activities anywhere near race start time let alone qualifying start time. Annoying that I couldn't defend my championship lead really as I enjoy Hockenheim and the Morgan goes well there too. Well done to Purdie on the win in GTC and FreQ for the GT1 win!

It wasn't me Legzy. You flashed me through at T2 going into Para without incident - thanks for that :)

Hope my disco didn't cause any problems by the way. I didn't have any indication that I was discoing (usually my gap time readings start going haywire) otherwise I'd have hit esc.

Good race to get my eye back in  :)

Good quali with pole and had a solid start, managed to take advantage of GT1s spinning off in the opening laps to get a decent gap to Lazlow. He kept on the pressure through-out before he pitted.

Thought I had it in the bag ::) but doubt started creeping into my mind after my stop when Legzy was still leading the class and I was 20 secs behind  :o

With 14 laps to go I couldn't relax and tried to catch him just in case  :D. Luckily managed it and he flashed me past and then pitted! Good strategy tho mate, 7th to 3rd in class  ;) ... and if your sticking with the 911 I can send over my setup if you want to try it.

Hope the wireless didn't cause too much lagging, Lazlow said it did a bit on the warm-up lap but hope it was fine after. Just bought a 30m LAN cable as a temporary measure anyway!  :)

Good to have you back racing Andy - it will be better still with a cable. From a distance your car seemed fine but when I let you passed to lap me I thought "is he ever coming through?". Then you jumped from no where to about 4 car lengths in front!

I practised for this race (finally got my gear back up and runnin', though the BRD mk1 pedal board is kinda inaccurate, still awaiting replacement), but frankly I was too late back home because I visited Bavaria City racing (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6691.msg116186).

Looking at the qualy times I could've raced chasing purdie and lazlow the whole race :'(

Rather a quite race for me....I didn't have enough pace to keep up with Purdie (Good solid win mate!!)....but found it quite comfortable driving around in 2nd place....apart from the occasional trips off the track :-[

I hope my racing lines didn't disrupt the GT1 guys to much, but I prefer to let you all through by moving off the racing line, if this causes any problems please let me know?

Disappointing fuel economy from the BMW which needed the best part of 140l of fuel....
I managed to only have to use 120ltrs...must of been something to do with my low Rev Limit.

Finally well done to Legzy on his podium (where did that one come from ;D) and then rest of the Team Oldie squad...top of the table...Go Team Oldie!!!!

See you next time

Laz

That race was really difficult, close, and fun! Qually wasn't too bad but wasn't surprised to see Busi jump in front once he stuck his qually setup on. I was surprised to have second by a relatively large margin, the Viper is tough round this place. I just this second noticed that Busi set an identical pole time to my last remaining Lambo record, 1:33.150. Very pleased with that, as it's 2 years old!  8)

First couple of laps were great, really close until the fun at the hairpin. I saw Jose coming in hot so stayed out wide and Busi got unlucky on the exit. Jon was going nicely in the new for him Saleen until a mistake at the hairpin (Goldtops car was in an interesting spot). Great comeback though, I had decided on meds all round even though my rears were easily hitting 110 constantly and had considered hards, but decided against it.

Later in the stint it became really hard to handle out of the slow corners and I think I had the slowest spin I've ever had, at 2400 in the replay. Really clumsy...I tried to not move at all when I stopped to make it easier for Busi to avoid me, it's always tough avoiding a spinning car because you don't know where it's going.

The stop went OK and exiting the pits was fairly close, although I'm really surprised that I could then close back up; I thought that was it when I came out behind.

It's odd being in the Viper against a Lambo. It's brilliant just pulling out and passing on the straights, but I felt so slow on braking and round corners. I've seen it from both perspectives now, in seasons 4-6 I was in the Lambo and found it hard to overtake because you can't stay close down the straights to take advantage of the great braking, yet you get soo frustrated as soon as you get to a corner and you know you can go much faster than the bloke in front of you. The Lambo is quick over a lap, but quick in all the wrong places during a race for position. You feel like you were going like the wind in that car every lap, but the straightline speed is so bad that the laptimes feel better than they often are. It's still the most charismatic car though, and one of my favourite (in green Simon!)

The last stint I was convinced that I was being messed with. I thought "He's doing a Rossi", just waiting and seeing where he can go past in the last 10 minutes, but the only time we swapped, I got straight past again on the straight. The way those 2 cars generate laptime is so different. I almost felt bad through the stadium section as Busi was constantly moving around trying not to brake all the time to avoid running into me.

Race ended a little early (48 laps not 50), but congrats all. I'm not a huge fan of this technical track, but it does usually give good racing  :)
And...hurrah for Picnic's ADSL  8)

Not sure how I won that, but I'm not complaining! Thanks for the race all  ;D
