All going well, Team Pseudo may have a F430 GTC that needs testing.

I am planning on using my new GT1 Viper skin (again, all going well) so I hope some other people will be using GT1 cars.

Dave has had his work cut out for him with the skins this time around. I was one of 4 people handing the skins in as late as 2am last night ( ::)) and I thought the skins were fine but I have been informed of one error already. :-\ So sorry Dave. You must be spending all day sorting out the skins. I really appreciate the effort and time that you have put into this, even if my skins dont make it in. I should have done them weeks ago. :-\

That's why I've begged people to post skins as early as possible, and not wait for a deadline to be announced so they can rush them in at the last moment. :P

Car pack 2.10.5 now released - download via the usual page, links in the announcement, Downloads button or Server Status.

Currently only uploaded to my ISP web space, but Humyo and FileFront links will follow as the data travels up the wet piece of string which laughably masquerades as a broadband connection to my house.

lost track of where we are pack wise, do we just need the physics pack or all the skin packs too ?

Lots of new skins this time, which is why I've released a complete new set of packs, rather than just physics as I did for 2.10.0.

Is 20% rain gonna help to test the new balance pack  :-\?

The test race isn't to check the balancing (you don't really know about that until we've done half a season across a variety of tracks), it's just to check the physical construction of the pack and individual skins, and show off any new skins.

"Week in week out"? Twice a season - once every 2 months. We rebalance the cars a little each time, and add new skins.

I tested against the server last night with the Panoz. It didn't crash.

Any chance we can get ONE download pack though as having to download and install 7 items is now getting a fair bit annoying, like rFactor.

I actually oversaw the message that there would be only 5 minutes of qualy time, so my first qualy lap I was pushing too hard, made a mistake and hit the wall. Then my second qualy lap (after a new outlap) suddenly Next Session appeared and I was like o dear (bit more non polite version) ;D

Starting from the back with some more guys who didn't had a laptime I could easily race forward being GT1, though the more forward the harder the overtaking was and off racing line overtaking in the wet is very very hard (spanner saw it lol, sorry for holding ya back a bit :))

Then I saw Gazza (you still have the stuttering or has it returned? ;)), Ruskus and ginsters. They were close to eachother fighting and didn't want to ruin that, so I drove easy pace waiting for a good opportunity to pass and then I made my first driving mistake (missing the braking point completely) and with a slight touch to the wall the engine/suspension were all ruined :o

Ah well, at least I learned intermediates were good at 20%, hard wets alright as well though slighly less grippy, soft wets just spontaneous combust.

Wow that was more enjoyable than expected. Had an awesome battle with SBG.
I lost the lead because Jon lost track ;), and I was pushing hard to stay behind SBG. We had the same speed through sector 1, he was quicker through sector 2 and I was quicker through sector 3, so we were always close.
At one point I came out of the last corner a bit quicker and got alongside before T1. We were side by side through T1, 2 and 3 ;D. Amazing as offline was very slippery, still no contact :).

Car was very predictable (not very stable tho), and it packed some straight line punch  :o (and that with 5 gears only ;D)

BTW: Why were some people in stock skins?:)

I thought I'd take it nice and steady so that I could observe all those lovely new skins as they passed/lapped me. ;)

No problems to report, but it looked like some were in the original or older skins.

Nice race. :)

I witnessed no issues with the skins.

Very fun race. Good fight with TT and Jose at the start. I then followed TT for several laps, unable to pass. Not being able to overtake him on the straight meant that I did not have the skills to make a pass. I had a look a few times and put my self in TTs mirrors to try and put him off >:D, but nothing. Then, as we approached turn 1, TT went very defensive as I had a gotten close and he made an uncharacteristic mistake and I was passed. ;D

Nice driving in the Marcos TT. It looked even more of a handful than usual. :)

Well done podiums.

Hadn't given any thought to car choice, so when I saw a very low mileage Snail's Pace Racing Saleen sitting in the pits with the keys in it, I couldn't help myself and jumped in. :ninja: :whistling:

Qually didn't go well but I got enough of a lap in to avoid being mired in the slower classes, even with an impromptu setup; car was tricky on cold tyres - not to mention the maximum caster I dialled in moments before the race - and I ran off a bit on the pace lap, but kept it together.

Was a bit surprised to get a big fat kiss on the bum by Ginsters as we formed up :winkiss: but I think it did him more damage than me, and we were soon off, with TT leading Hal, and Jose, API and myself not far behind.

TT was doing a brilliant job holding Hal off, Marcos grunt against the mighty Viper, and behind, Jose's nimble but slow MC12 was dicing hard with API's fast but understeery 550 and my jack of all trades S7R. I guess Jose was on the wrong tyres because after a while he was clearly struggling, and having sliced my way past API, I was soon in a clear 3rd place and starting to catch the leaders.

In the meantime, Jon had cleared the slower cars and was hunting me down with the sort of ruthless efficiency that nobody expects. TT provided a brief respite by running wide in turn 1 - amazing save not to go off competely! ;D - but that allowed Hal to start to break clear, so it was now a case of whether Jon and/or TT could catch me quickly enough to take second place away.

As the tyres wore the grip fell away, although the balance was fairly constant, but with 5 minutes to go I was struggling a bit at the end of the braking zones. TT had dropped away quite dramatically, but Jon's Lister was all over me like a bad suit, and the last lap I was just being ultra careful to not lock the tyres under braking, to get to every apex, and to get back on the throttle as early as possible.

I don't think I'd have survived more than a lap or two more, but it was enough and second place was mine. ;D

ps. Oldie Z3M looks like a hooker's underwear! :P Er... apparently...

Didn't think 20 percent rain set up was ideal but what the hell do I know, that was great fun. Chose the 911 thingy (they do rather look the same dont they ;)) as I guessed it might have been pumped up in update (has it?) but I'd forgotten how much fun it is in rain. Nice to push it in front of those nasty 430's and enjoyed a race long battle with the crazzzy Dutch combo. Great stuff to get the most outta the Spiker, JR and it will be interesting to see how its awesome straight line grunt (or is the 911 just slow?) matches up against other GTC'ers.

Was a bit surprised to get a big fat kiss on the bum by Ginsters as we formed up :winkiss:

Nightmare. Wanted a closer look at the snail? :'(

I haven't installed new skins yet, I'll be ready for next race, but all looked well to me. Thx to all who made them, especially Ade, and those that made it fun tonight.

Nice summary DG, H@l. Can't really add anything. Seems like graining coincided with me going off line and skidding out, just avoiding the first sandtrap. Had 3 or 4 bad laps, lost 4 seconds per lap, then it stabilized but was losing 1 sec per lap constantly.  :-\

Car felt better in the opening laps (thanks DG  ;) ), but after tyres were worn above 10 it was just skidding around, no grip. :-\  Brakes are much better, usually I have to have them open at 5, now I had cooling closed down to 3!  :o  Felt almost like a normal car.  :P  Have to make some dry laps. :)

Grats podys. 8)

Nice driving in the Marcos TT. It looked even more of a handful than usual. :)

Nah, I was just trying to distract you. :D

That was fun. No time for practice or qually and was fighting my new firewall/av just to be allowed online. I started with my Potrero setup and slick tyres as Picnic had done well with those in a damp race earlier this year. Although they never got warm, they got just warm enough and I was able to make progress from the back row of the grid.
I could get nowhere near the GTC of Jeff though who was lapping 4s quicker than me  :D Did noone think to tell him it was damp tonight and laptimes are supposed to be slower? Anyway whilst he fought the GT1's I was happy to finish as first human (non-alien) in class. Good race Jeff.

Congrats to all class podiums especially Dave for holding on to second place with Jon in close pursuit.

enjoyed the "race".
By the time I got to the end of lap two, both my hard wets & my oil/water temps were in the 100's.... so from then it wasn't really a race, more a fast drive with occasional bursts when other drivers were close.

Had a good few laps early on fending off Prof & his Z4, I went a tad wide & instead of cutting back to cover, I let the faster driver through. Kept up with him for a couple of laps, but then he was gone. Not to worry I then had JPS for good company. I was enjoying it, but in the end, my tyres were well shot/melted.
