Think I'll choose someting other than the 550 for this one  - I've only managed to complete 10 laps in the last 2 enduro races in it.
I cant even keep the GT cars on the road yet I've overcome this in the NGTs and even had good finishes towards the end of the season.

Mmmmm maybe something mid-engined will help  ???

Looks like I've lost a lot of ground to Dave and Tfy when I missed Donnington :(

Spa's always good fun though, that feeling of "will I make it?" every time through Eau Rouge  ;D

No worries Popa m8. Obviously I would have won the championship, since Dave can't drive proper  :o ;) :D , but I'm switching ISP so won't be around for weeks :D. Hopefully I'll be back in time for the last two races, since I already missed Monza in the sprint champs... :(

Spa is ace indeed, especially this 1.5 hour drive, really awesome stuff! ;D

Hoho, the F550 is about that hardest in the game. If your a Ferrari man, gofor the Lambo(?!?). Seriously its just like a big F360.

Tried it last night and cant get below 2'17 with it - been getting 2'15s with the Saleen though in race trim although the tyres melt a bit quick, which is worrying for a 90min race  :-\

Came through in a Saleen last night with soft fronts and med rears, 100 litres. One stop, changed tyres and added 80 litres. No prob. Just don't spin, it's like 5 laps extra...  ;D

How come it takes so long to switch ISP? I switched ISP's recently and my only downtime was how long it took me to type in my new username & password into my router.  ???

Looks like Dave's got a clear run at the NGT Div 2 title then...

It's taking so long because I'm taking a break from being online for 5 years or so :). Not decided which other ISP I'm going to get, so will be a while longer than is possible, yeh. :D

;D Well, it takes up loads of time (or acres of mind space ;)) so I thought since I'm changing why not have a break for a bit as well. Then I noticed that loads of dutch ISP's are switching to 20 MB down /1 MB up adsl2+ lines for which there will no doubt be a lot of advertisement, so I'm sitting on the fence at the moment! :D (Which is quite disturbing as you keep doing ur brake testing right in front of me ;) and JonM is doing his victory donuts ;D !)

I'm a bit thick, so I need some help.  ::)

I wanna join D2 in Sunday and as I'm D1 I wanna race in G2. So, Seat is out  :'( , and Porsche is the best in G2 class, right? If not, or others are equally fast I'd like to know which cars do you recommend. By the way, Porsche G2 sucks big time, I never spinned as much even first time on track when I got the game...

From https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&group=1

"Driver Registration Status

Drivers who are registered as full time in one division, may enter the other division's races, using the reserve joining procedure, in a G3 or G2 car.

Drivers who are reserves may join either division's races, and may take a car in any class."

Also, from here (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?ind=lm2&group=7):
Quote
Car Classes

The Corvette and G2 Viper will be classified as GT cars, and eligible for GT points.
The 911 Bi-Turbo, Mosler, Vertigo and Morgan will be classified as N-GT cars, and eligible for N-GT points.
The Seat Toledo will be classified as G2.
The Elise, Z3M and GT3 Cup will be classified as G3.

There is no Porsche which is classified G2 for UKGTR purposes. Full time drivers in the "wrong" Endurance division may take the SEAT if they wish, but most prefer to run in G3 with the Z3M or GT3 Cup as they are then eligible for G3 points.

Hm, I'm a bit mixed up, it stays G2 for a Porsche in the "monitor" menu in the game, and UKGTR clasifies it differently? Ok, doesn't matter, I'll try some GT3 Cup and if it won't suit me I'll take a Seat. I like it, and to hail with the points. 90 minutes is fun. Rain would be cool...  :P

Yes, the game classifies according to the original FIA classifications, we classify according to performance over race distance, partly to try and encourage a wider selection of cars, and partly because those cars are available throughout the whole season, where in real life they only competed in one or two special events.

Given the special early start for tonights lengthy encounter in the Belgian forests, reserves and G3 drivers can join with 5 mins to go in practice 1 as normal, however this is 8:25pm in this case.

I'll let you know in game what the weather dice have rolled for us tonight although if it's rain you'll probably already know!  :)

Many apologies to those who got caught up in my mess, went too hot into corner got hit from behind as someone did roughly the same and then kept getting spun and hit.

I have tried all I know to get the frame rate suitable, runs 36 average when not around cars, but when it is 15-20 just cannot suitably control it, so I will have to retire until further notice from GTR as not only does it ruin my night , but also those who get caught up.

With GTL on the horizon I hope to god that performs better than this does.

Hope to see you all one day on track in something!!!

All the best

Nick

I did some amazing overtaking moves in the first few laps, although I'm not sure they were the wisest however. I must watch the replay and either bask in my brilliantness, or hang my head in shame at my stupidity (don't know which).

The F360 was Dave, I ended up with about 6 Dave's at different points around the track. I eventually grew tired of dodging and when it was right on the racing line in one of the longer corners I just drove at it and passed through. After that it was slightly disconcerting driving through all those Ferrari's but didn't really cost me time.

I made a right arse of letting people through at some points. Not used to being in such a slow car, I don't usually have  a problem in a 360 letting by GT's but the Z3M was hard. Soz to Pops, I don't feel I did anything wrong really but I could have been nicer, you caught me at probably the worst time ever.

Also sorry to JonM_UK. I locked up behind you and I think I scared you into going off too, even though I'm pretty sure I'd already managed to avoid you.

That was me. :( Sorry, Locutos, my ADSL has been up and down like a yoyo during peak hours over the past few days (since the speed "upgrade"), seemed okay for the first few laps but then it got really bad, I hung on in hoping it would clear up but eventually it dropped me completely, not until after I'd had "that's your first blue flag" every few seconds for 3 or 4 laps, spun a few corners before the Bus Stop and collected Jamera whilst trying to rejoin (sorry, Jam - perhaps I can swap you that for you running into my rear on the pace lap?).

I nearly pulled out earlier but really hoped it would come back - it's normally okay after 9pm. >:(

I was getting used to dodgy Gizmos car warping in every corner, was like having to complete in a slalom. Shame for Giz in his NGT champ quest, stupid technology! Somebody should shoot them for overloading the exchange without thinking before upgrading everyone. Thank god I'm on cable at least that is either on and perfect or off and dead, nothing in between.

I was doing well in the BMW until I locked a brake into the bumpy 2nd gear right hander 1/3 way round and hit the tyres losing my splitter. Spent over 2 mins at standstill alone in the pits whilst my really slow pit crew (must fire them sometime) fixed it. Then spent the rest of the race catching up and then being caught by JonM who also had some offs and had a good battle with him, knew he was faster but no way was I letting him through and he made a mistake and it ended up being a 1 - 2 for Team Shark in G3 with Smoothy being very consisten to take the G3 win as well as more points from Picnic in 4th and Luis in 5th! :)

Well done to Jon C for the GT win and fine debut and Pops for his NGT win.

When are the dice going to give us rain again!? Was sort of looking forward to some 90 mins at Spa in the wet in a sadistic kind of way.

Wow what a crazy race far too much to mention, well far too many spins to mention  ;)
Had amazing quali, 3 secs quicker than PB but the first half of the race was very eventful. Mixing with the NGT's, stop go penalty, spins and a damaged car  :D Great race though. Only disapointment was catching up to shark, following him around for a few laps but then came one of those really slow spins that only the BMW can provide, Would've been a nice battle to the finish   :(
Fozz, tbh not sure if you touched us or not, I could see your car closing and sliding and kinda cacked me pants, think it'll have to be a replay jobby. But no worries mate It didn't reallly affect my race because of all the other spins  ;)
Grats to Jon(never have too many of those kinda name's) Popa and smoothy in their race wins.Nice one boys  ;) See ya at the next un' 8)

Sorry to not have a put a better support for the team :-[

I was really enjoying the close race with 2 Z3 (Shark and JonM_UK) with Jamera's 996 (I think) just in front of the pack.
Unfortunately Dave net problems caused some stir for a couple of laps with his 360 jumping out of thin blue.
After Shark and JonM little dance ;D I stayed ahead of the G3 class with a steady 2"30 laps with a very good lead for the 8th.
Unfortunately my f#$%?!!!! engine broke between Stavelot and Blanchimont  >:(, a part of track where cars go at full throttle, when I was 7th overall and still with some 15 liters of fuel.
I was aiming for a splash and dash pit stop, between 1h and 1h05 race time, hoping to be able to get closer to the 6th but not even had the chance.

My first win!  ;D

Lordy that was stressful, don't think I've ever properly been in the lead before, never mind for 90 mins round Spa!

I'm gutted for Dave that his internet connection died, seeing as he's beaten me in every other Div 2 race I was looking forward to another good tussle. I thought I was pulling away from you at the start a little too easily. Dave, did you have another no-stop strategy up your sleeve?  ;)

Drove very poorly in qualifying, I was lying about 0.5s behind Dave for most of the session but finally got it together for the last 10 mins and put in one really good lap that gave me the NGT pole. Thank goodness I persisted (just goes to show eh?) as it kept me clear of Dave's warping. I think because of that I was able to pull away quite quickly from the other NGT's and G3's.

Drove really well for the first 45mins and had about 50s on Jam when I pitted, but then he went in on the next lap, I was just praying he didn't have some demon no-stop strategy up his sleeve!

Had a dodgy moment coming up on Luis' black cloud of death after his engine exploded, I couldn't see where the car was so I was forced to slow quite a bit, even though Luis had sensibly pulled over off the track.

Picnic kindly span through the chicane to let me through when I was dithering over an overtaking manouvre :)

Fozz, no problem, I think we were both a little tentative when I came up on you but it was safe in the end which is all I was after!

Congrats to Jon on the win and cheers to the rest of the GT boys, absolutely textbook overtaking by one and all. Really, really impressive stuff  and hugely appreciated, especially over 90 mins! ;D

And a big thanks to the G3 boys, it definately would have been a bit sparse without you. Very disappointing there were only 5 NGT's on the starting grid   >:(

Pops.

That was a painful experience :( Due partly to no practice I was no where in terms of times in the BWM, however as things never improved in the race perhaps I just don't get on with the thing.

So qualified 3 from the back. On the opening lap Nick, as he said, spun and myself and some of the back markers came across the incident. Nick seemed to have just about sorted out the car when he got tagged and this caused him to spin into the gap where the train of passing cars was going, me included. O dear, flat tyre so off to the pits we go. I was not planning on any pitstops so that ruined that strategy ;)

So I come back out 1:20 behind the car in front and they are quicker than me anyway. I almost quit as it was going to be a long 90 minutes. This wasn't helped by spinning on cold tryes at the top of the hill on the out lap. Great, lapped on a long circuit before I had completed 2 laps  :o

I stuck with it and spun a further 3 times in the race, twice while worrying about cars trying to overtake me. The last on the final lap when I knew I was the last car and it made no difference. Sorry to SbG who I probably appeared to block on the way to the bus stop, I was distracted by LB's broken down car and never saw you until too late, thought I'd make it easy for you by going down the pit entry. I was surprised by one red thing but generally tried to stay out of everyones's way ;)

No worries picnic, I was distracted by LB's beamer a couple of times as well. Forgot to say that lapping on the whole was pretty comfortable even though I seemed to catch a beamer on the entry to rouge every time.

Really, sorry if my parked car distracted you guys. It just stayed there for a couple of laps cause I pressed + to watch the rest of the race and forgot to get back to garage. Only when I was trying to see the lap times from you guys that I noticed I was still in track. :D

Very tough race, just couldnt get it together.  Had a couple of spins and finished 3rd.  Spent most of the race chasing SBG but try as I might just couldnt close the gap to below 20 secs.  Grats to Jon on the win and the title seems to be heading to SBG now, very little chance of closing that gap now, so well done on another consistent drive.

I chose a non stop strategy too.
As it turned out, my car was damaged on lap 1 which took 2 seconds per lap off my free practice time on full tanks.
Not enough to make it worthwhile going in for repairs, especially if my pit crew were going to be as slow as Shark's.
(Not that I knew that at the time).

I expected to be trailing throughout the race but then catch up when people pitted.
As it turned out, I passed most of the other G3 entries quite early, after they had gone off for one reason and another.
Only Luis remained in front and I would have got very close to him when he pitted but his engine blew and handed me the win.
Hard luck Luis!

Hi Guys Someone shunted me up the rear on the warm up lap I think. Then whilst in close company with other cars a Lambo shot out of a gravel trap straight in front of me and I cliped it . Thought there goeas the splitter but was able to keep going and swap places a few times with the porsch I think driven by fozzmister. Then going past the parked f360 at every corner. My concentration still is suffering from the chicken pox , I pulled wide to let a GT car up the inside and my car just attacked the barriers and stove the front end in. Bye for now gerald

Please try to refrain from mentioning contentious incidents in public and PM to Gizmo as incidents reports instead.

Thanks.

Simon.

Replay has no wheels because it's the server replay, quite normal. Did he have a stop go penalty or something that he ignored??

As for clean racing, that's why we're all here!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D

Seriously though it's in no-one's interests not to race cleanly on here. Many of us found our way here because of the state of the public servers and the fact that you CAN just race on here knowing you will be given every courtesy and more importantly pointers for good clean online racing no matter what your current ability is, hence things like the rookie fun race iniative.

We are restricted to using the noDX server which saves replays with no wheels (ask Simbin! :D).

My guess is it was an ignored black flag too, maybe didn't realise, other than that must have been a game gremlin (something Simbin kindly put in a lot of :P)

Yes next race in two weeks. Check out the Calendar for up-to-date race schedules.

It's a pleasure to have good and clean drivers such as yourself. It's this kind of drivers that make a league great and UKGTR have a great bunch of them.

For UKGTR...hip, hip, hurra ;D

That sounds like a problem at the start. Once you've been issued a 'stop & go' I *think* you get 3 laps to come in or you get DQ'ed.

I haven't watched the replay but I'd guess that Scott moved before the race started.  :(

Pops.

Yeah, you get 3 laps. On the last lap you get a reminder to pull in or else though!
