Firstly, congrats to Rick and team-mates Al H and Bartosz.
Happy to get fourth in Qually and got a good start.
The race was an abject lesson in concentrating on the here and now and not what I will do further up the road. Early days and behind Steve, I then started watching him lapping so I could decide the best way too and wallop into the hay bales.

This track grew on me but Kyalami feels like it might be easier to get to the flag - famous last words...

Well done Ric - great Qually & race.
I'll keep this post short & sweet (unlike my race which was short & s**t). I put in a lot of laps in qually to make sure I could keep the engine in tact. Decided not to push too hard in the race but still managed to blow a valve on lap 3. Took me half a lap to work out the engine was sick & beyond hope - apologies if I held anyone up.
Defied expectations by not crashing - although I probably would have managed that if I'd done more than a couple of laps.
Well done to my team mate Graham for making sure we got some points on the board.
Hopeful for a better performance at Kyalami.

Fresh back from my nautical wanderings I was brought quickly down to terra firma with this lunatic track .

suffering from zero practise time and GPL rust found I couldnt get anywhere near my Cooper PB of 1'10" ish .

I spent the whole of practise trying to find a good enough set up to race and to stay in one piece with but as I got up to speed during the race the car was hitting the bump stops on the faster bits and launching me off into the boondocks, with my concentration levels at sub zero I lost count of how many times I left the track,  and was very lucky to get to the flag with all four corners intact .

Comisserations to teamy Steve who drove a good race but buzzed his mill with 3 to go resulting in me gaining a very fortunate 4th place though being lapped no less than 3 times by the leaders took a bit of swallowing (chokes)

Congrats Rick Al and Pod on a fine podium

Rick's qualifying lap of 1:07.999 would have put him 4th on the works grid lol.

Well done to Rick for a clean sweep of pole, FL & the win - a great bit of driving coupled with a canny tactical move to take the Eagle put him in a league of his own.

I wasn't too lucky with traffic in quallie but even with a clear track & a following wind there was no way I'd have been troubling Rick & his extra-terrestrial 07's :o but I was happy to grab a spot alongside him on the front row & complete a Clark-Hill 2-3-4 grid formation  ;D. Rick seemed to get a bit of a tank-slapper at the flag but I thought trying to dive down the outside of the polo-infested turn 1 might not be too clever so I tucked in behind. Err & that was it... Rick started pulling away & there wasn't a lot I could do about it. I didn't help matters by dropping it at the bridge corner during the early laps - I rear-ended the haybale very hard & was really lucky not to get any damage or lose any places :sweatdrop:. After that I tried to close the gap which was going OK in clear air but in traffic I just seemed to lose loads of time - that's not a gripe by the way as everyone I lapped was really helpful & gave me room when they could - probably just me being a little over-cautious.

Anyway congratulations to my teammate Bartosz for dragging the Cooper up onto the podium & to all the other finishers at this tricky little track. I must say I rather like the strategic dimension this token system adds - though I'm still not sure where I'll be playing my "trump cards" yet!

I quite enjoyed that.  Laguna was a challenge for my first race back after 3 months.  I wanted to stay at a reasonable pace while keeping things pointing the right way, which happened for much of the race, but with a few spins thrown in for the reality check.  I missed a couple of gear changes and hit the red line once too often during one missed change up the box, one of the pistons didn't like it and I rolled to a halt with just under 2 to go, this allowed Bernie to make the ground back up and take 4th but I was classified in 5th so it was some consolation for covering most of the distance.

Grats to Rick who put in an outstanding performance along with Al who was the only other who could cling on to the lead lap, another good performance. Also Pod for rounding out the Podium.

Thanks to all for the congrats.  I decided to dump a load of tokens to race my PB chassis here.  The outcome I’m sure would have been much different had many of you had the chance to put in some practice hours. I love this track and have raced it often in league races.  Even visited it in real life a couple of years ago though no race was going on.  Climbing the hill to get to the Corkscrew felt like a religious pilgrimage.

Looking forward to the next one.  I’m sure to not be in as speedy a chassis at Kyalami, which is going to be a bummer with it’s long front straight and other medium length straights.
