Oo, this looks fun!

Also - any chance of using Singapore? The track looks brilliant from the F1 coverage. Especially if they include the night lights :D

Down to a 1:40.3 after 10 or 12 laps in race setup, haven't learnt the track yet so I assume the pace could be around the 1:38's

Is it this? - "cut and shut or clipping, a form of body collision "repair" based on buying a wrecked car and sawing off the wrecked section to replace it with a matching section from another (similar) car."

Something like silicon breasts, then. ;D

Yeah, had about 9 on for practice last night, was great fun.

I was quite happy in the Team Oldie Cr6 but, I jumped in the new Oldie F550 & did manage to get my PB from a 1:42.0 to a 1:39.9... so I decided the Oldie CR6 must be broken.

But the mechanics must have fixed it again in time for SBG to go round in mid 1:38's ??? >:( I don't think he realised that the Oldie skins need to be driven gently & treated with a bit more care :wheelchair:. It's not all about speed you know ;)

I downloaded and tried this last night, excellent rollercoaster ride :)

My first 'flying' lap was a 1:41.6 - every other lap (3) I fell off :( Hopefully I'll be better tonight. But at least I've done some practice, more than I usually get time to do  :-[

Incidentally - Dave this track is brilliant, more of the same please!

Just sneaked a few laps in the F550 and looking a bit better in mid 1:40.xxx. Just couldn't get the power down out of the corners in the MC12. Get the feeling that the temptation to go and play in all that sand will be too much for me to resist tonight though.

That tracks good for hotlapping and pretty damn good for racing I'd say :)

Was gapping all, and hopefully JR, until tyres ran out very quickly, lost some time and was right behind JR as he exited pits. He made a slight slip, those gents do make them occasionally ;), I got overexcited and spun in sympathy whilst he was good enough to hold it. Was gutted cause that could have been good but what followed was a-maz-ing. Side by side with TT for what felt like two laps :) As good as it gets and my save after he loved tapped me through one of those fast right handers had me laughing out loud. Great fun.

Cheers for that Dave and I'll pretty much race anything on a Tuesday but perhaps a little more notice might drag some punters in? Congrats JR/all  :) Is Tudor still out there?

p.s. sorry for the after party DSQ Dave, I got caught up in the moment ::)

Really enjoyed that.

Had some great laps with Spanner & Pete was just behind him. Didn't know how the tyres would hold out so waited till half way to see what my pit plan would be. My Meds were still only on about 10 front & back so figured I'd do a splash & dash near the end.

Found myself alone upfront as the only one on that strategy & laughed as Jeff started closing the gap down. With about 7 mins to go he was on my tail & ......... my PC's AV decided to popup with an update opportunity!!! :taz: :taz: :taz: Got rid of that & came back, didn't know which way I was facing so had to wait for the next car. It was SBG & I was pointing the right way. Started off, decided I'd pit straight away. Announced I was pitting twice & hugged the inside of the kerb as best I could (but it was starting to drift out a little). Simon was right behind me & obviously trying to carry as much speed as possible on to the home straight (understandably). Just as I was about to ease right off & try to turn in to the pit, it looked like he made a dart up my inside :o, so I steered out to avoid & unfortunately so did he. We both ended up in the gravel. I waited for him to move & nothing. I wondered if he was stuck so gave him a little push & on came his reverse lights  :o . Tried again & in the end just maneuvered myself & into the pits. Shame that, for both of us. Being the car in front, I probably should have ignored what looked like an attempt up my inside, but these things happen I guess.

Decided then to change tyres & enjoy some softs. Great track that, hope to see it again soon. ;D

What if this is as good as it gets, as Jack said? ;D  Good enough for me. Great fun, even Marcos can be tamed into those corners. Oily came close from the start, that F550 is quite fast. :o Didn't even think that much close racing is possible, sbg. Hell yea, two laps side by side, now is this great or what?! :w00t: Only compromising for my car was the last looooong right-hander, JR passed easy there. :-\

Yes, yes, let's have a league race here, GT2s might be even more fun. 8)

EDIT: sbg = DQ  ???

Is Tudor still out there?

Just got back mate ;D

Well that went alright for about 8 or 9 laps. Even managed to mix it with some of the fast guys.....while they were still learning the track :) Eventually the lure of the sand was just too much and I went and had a play. All went a bit silly from there on in.

One thing to note trackwise was the absense of any cut warnings. For instance, turns 1, 2 and 3 could be taken almost as one long hairpin and there were several run off areas that I was able to use to my advantage. Maybe needs looking at before being used for champ races?

EDIT: sbg = DQ  ???

It's only a fun race, as I got 3rd with SbG's DQ I thought I'd leave it be  ;D :P

Great track that, had some good battles alone the way but really disappointed I spun Spanner around. Sorry  :'(

Really surprised with my pace in the 2nd half but was seriously worried about fuel. If I'd had to do another lap I would have had about 0.2L left!

I was really enjoying that but went in to pit and couldnt activate the pit. All the guys are standing there but it just wouldnt kick in and show the clipboard. Id even made sure to request a stop nice and early.

There may not have been many of us but the first few laps were manic! Great fun 8)

Cheers Picnic, no probs. Did seem to make the front a bit less grippy but made it more interesting trying to follow Legzy ;) Shame i couldnt carry on after the pitstop.

I remember when I practiced pit-stops here I sometimes stopped 1 mm to far ahead and the crew was waiting and did nothing. Might be that. :)

I think this track can provide excellent racing, what with sbg and me side by side for two laps last night. ;D You can really persist even if the guy gets into the corner inside of you, and hold the line for the next, or next corner when you have the inside line. Cracker. 8)

EDIT: Would be nice to have another, GT2 test race here, DG. :)

Bit of a nightmare, only started learning the track 30 minutes before the race, and couldn't quite get the two crests and two uphill left handers into the right order in my head. Didn't actually have any major offs in the race but that was more luck than judgement, and on half a dozen occaisions nearly threw the car hard left over the wrong crest. :o

The first half was actually pretty good fun, chasing 57's "fast in a straight line and rubbish in the corners" Ferrari. Tyre wear was good (although soft fronts and hard rears suggests that the rear heating factor is wrong here), so I pitted for fuel only and came out miles ahead, and after that never really saw anybody save for JR, who flew by when he lapped me like I was in a GT4! :o :notworthy:

Outrageous behaviour from Jeff, winning from the back of the grid. :P :P :P ;D

One thing to note trackwise was the absense of any cut warnings. For instance, turns 1, 2 and 3 could be taken almost as one long hairpin and there were several run off areas that I was able to use to my advantage. Maybe needs looking at before being used for champ races?

You obviously didn't go off in the right places! I had loads in practice! There are also some invisible 'fenced' areas which are very hard to extricate yourself from. ::) Hopefully most of these will get fixed in the 1.0 release.

SbG's DQ 'fixed'. :P

I saw your pit message and fully expected you to go right, but as I went to the outside to drive around your pitting car you seemed to move left and that was that. I was never going to go up the inside as you were pitting so I guess confusion got the better of you. :P In the gravel and race over.

P.S. Great circuit, really different, although maybe a few too many 1st/2nd gear corners. The track seemed to be a bit pausy for me too, despite the frame rate counter it would sort of chugg every 2 seconds which was very annoying.

No frame rate issues here or track stutters. Did have one massive warp in the race where Spanner and Legzy disappeared then reappeared 2" off my nose before jumping a couple of car lengths away again. Was expecting my ADSL to reset then but it didn't. Been on solid now for 360+ hours. I'm expecting it to go wrong again Sunday week for the next Lower Endurance race :(

The every couple of seconds pause was bad enough for me to reboot my PC when I first joined cause I thought it might be a Windows issue, but it still did it after the reboot.

Other thing I thought I'd add, was about the use of run off area. Most people (including me) seem to be taking quite large liberties over the use of run-off areas outside of the tracks white lines. Do we need to tighten that up or is it ok for people to use the extra bits of track?

Too bad it's not possible to add more marbles on the run-off areas. :-\  Frankly, Marcos needed more space on the long right hander on s/f straight, but it's unfair IMO, as I could gain higher final speed that way. Didn't use any others (maybe one time on the outside of T1 'cause of close driving) and didn't get any warnings. :)

Other thing I thought I'd add, was about the use of run off area. Most people (including me) seem to be taking quite large liberties over the use of run-off areas outside of the tracks white lines. Do we need to tighten that up or is it ok for people to use the extra bits of track?

Yup, I agree. The whole of the outside of the last turn, plus the exits to Turns One & Three are just a little too convenient currently. I know I ran off there unintentionally a few times, when I attacked the corners too hard, but there was no consequence for it as I was able to hold my pace. I did pick up a cut track somewhere though

p.s. no stuttering screen here either.

I was never going to go up the inside as you were pitting so I guess confusion got the better of you.
Ah sorry about that then.

Grats podium chaps, I really enjoyed my race here even though it ended poorly - I had better be careful or this is going to become a habit.

Cheers for the dice early on TT, I thought that was some close stuff between us through quite a few corners but if you managed two whole laps alongside SBG that really is another level! Worth a Youtube that one surely :)

Dave just so you're aware, I ran wide between 6 and 7 (lost the plot and thought I'd be able to manage a glance at my mobile), went over the grass and then rejoined before 8, and presumably the lap didn't count as it showed me as effectively being a lap down thereafter.

In terms of using the track beyond the curbs, I just applied the normal rule of keeping two wheels on the black stuff (unless about to lose it...which was quite often :)).

Grats Jeff, a super controlled drive mate and well done SBG/ TT for grabbing those remaining steps....

Next track that appeals is Mosport so I'll look forward to seeing you there :)

Sorry about the tap in the T1, mr_oily. It was totally my fault.  :-[

Anyway, nice track and good racing all the way.  :)

Nah not at all mate, I went in a bit quick so had a moment where the fronts were locked and I think that caught you out as you got on the power nice and early. I would have done the same.

No biggy, enjoyed our little tussles though so cheers!
