There might be some cars less suited to drive at Magny Course than Marcos, but not very many. :D
Came within 2 seconds of the lap record for now. :P

How does one find a setup for a Z4?

I tried the Online files but it just sits there claiming to be reading the folder and does nothing.

And is the straight at Magny-Cours built like a washboard?  The nose on my car is behaving like a nodding dog.

The Z4 is a custom car, therefore there ain't much setup files out there. The online folders are gone since the ip's have changed (old hoster went down).

But I bet some members here have a decent setup for you if you don't want to fiddle around yourself :)

I reckon GTC pole will be a 1:37, but I'll miss the race I think (out to diner so late at home).

That would be great.

Do I send it to askthemeercat.com ?

Why is pole likely to be so much faster than last time you did Manky Course?

It's a long time ago the record was set, it was from the time cars were balanced by shifting lots of weight onto them. I pressume at least one of those GTC cars should be able to match that 360's time/record.
I'm in the mid-high 1:38's so far, but sadly don't have the time to practise on :)

This UKGTR version is very picky with the cutting though, I think lots of people will get stop&go penalties tomorrow :P

If you look at those lap records again Jimmie your'll notice the Ferrari 360 in the 37's is a GT2.

The GTC record is a 39.6, are you sure your running the right car?

Hi Ad, there should be plenty of room if you want to join us.

Blah :( Lost connection... Seems to be happening a bit to me now. Was going quite well until then but I guess that's the way it goes. Sorry to Prof who I hit in the pits. In the first stint I had soft/meds on and after 10 laps I was starting to struggle so changed to meds all around at the pitstop and was just starting to push when the connection went  :(
Hope you all had a good race :)

Enjoyed the first 20 min then me stupid car just fell apart, pitted early and it all to quickly the tyres fell off again. The MC12 is fun but just can't compete, in my hands, with its stupidly short performance window. Then run outta gas

Congrats to runner and riders.

no worries mate, just an unlucky incident :)

I had a good car tonight, although I started on a full tank and tried to save tyres in the first stint so I couldn't pull away from Jon. I did a mistake and he went past, but with my strategy I could comfortable leapfrog him in the pits despite the difference in fuel usages

Pitting late also helped me with very fresh tyres in my shortish 2nd stint where I could lap very fast and take another lap record home :P

Grats Simon and podiums

Bad luck, Jon. :(
Must apologize to Prof, seems I was always on his tail in the Quali, guess I misjudged the speed diff several times. :-[ Hope I didn't spoil Q2 for you too much. :( Was having difficulty getting a clean lap, always someone there (not in the way, just there) and when there wasn't I botched my lap. >:(  A whole second slower than my pb. :(
Was 9th on the start but made it to 6th when Spanner and H@l had their moments. ;)  Was just driving, biding my time, not trying to be too pesky when lapping GTCs (you were great, guys 8) ), pitted and made another place when Jon had a disco. Towards the end there was sbg again - you have something against the MC12?! How many did you trash this season? :P  We were racing closely for a while, Marcos always catching on a straight and MC12 always dancing away throught the twisty parts. What happened on the last lap, sbg? You just veered off - well, I know it wasn't my fault this time. :D

*EDIT: just saw your post, sbg. Well... :-\ *

Grabbed 4th and that is much more than I thought possible after Q2.

Grats podys. :)

Seems like the Legends team has deserted me. :(

Sorry to Prof who I hit in the pits.

NP Jon - it was busy with the guy from the stall in front of me leaving and you behind with nowhere to go!

NP TT - The annoying bit was that I started my final qually lap and was 7/10ths up and 50 yds from the line when it went to next session.

Third was my best target tonight with Shark and Jimmie being much faster and I think I achieved that so no harm done. Hats off to you guys for your excellent pace.

Another great result for me, puts me right back into contention with Lazlow for the title.

My qually was fantastic, I could not have gone any faster than that. It was one of those banzai laps where 9 times out of 10 you fall off or get it wrong and you end up going much slower, but managed it and held pole for quite a while. Jimmie then slaughtered that time near the end leaving me second on the grid, but ahead of championship rival Lazlow.

Race went very well. I managed to keep with Jimmie for the first part a few seconds behind with Prof, who by then had taken Lazlow, not too far behind me. I couldn't close on Jimmie and wasn't pulling away from Prof, but Jimmie seemed to have some very scruffy laps and after getting right up his rear-end he made some more errors, was really slow coming out of the hairpin and I zoomed by. Had to keep it altogether then, but the GT1s were then upon us and I made a gap of 5 seconds coming up to the pit stops.

Made another 5 seconds in the pit stops and with some more GT1s passing I pulled it out to 13,14 seconds and it stayed there for the rest of the race.

Of course I was also keeping an eye on Prof's progress throughout the race too (on XD monitor) as we delighted to see him take 3rd place, for a 1-3 team result!

Looks like in GT1 the championship is going down to the wire too, so a fantastic end to the season in store.

What a race :o

Was away the whole day (driving a roadrally (sort of, where you have some papers with go left at corner bla so many km'ers away etc.)).
Came back home 21:08 (20:10 UK), joined in and just drove the whole qualy getting used to the car and until I managed the lap I had done yesterday.

Went off from pole, slightly making a gap with Simon, but with 100L of fuel the car was a bit difficult in those fast turn-in-pray-you-make-it-turns.
So after a couple of laps I had 2 cut warnings which forced me to take it easy in the fast turn/chicane (Nurburgring). Then I bumped one of the curbs in last corner which slowed me down and Simon could overtake me. In the first part (the only place where I really gained time) I could out accelerate him but the overtake failed since he had a faster exit out of Adelaide.

Then afterwards I was slowly losing a bit cause I was losing more time with the GT1 cars overtaking me then Simon did (it was my first time driving the slower class of the two so it was kinda getting used to it ;D).
With 6 sec behind we both pitted, guess his car isn't as thirsty as mine, cause he got out with a 11 sec gap. Then it was gaining a bit, losing a bit and so on until the finish (bit of a pitty for me I couldn't close the gap, but it was very exciting nonetheless :sweatdrop:).

Oh, and first time pole in a SRou race and first time setting lap records  :punk:

Well done podiums and thanks GTCs. :)

Not sure what happened to nsfast - sorry about the accidental overtake, I could brake at the second board there but didn't really think about where you were going to brake, realised I was going to run into you and just threw it to the left. How I made Lycee I don't know! :o

Was good whilst that fight lasted but once nsfast crashed out I had nobody to race and was just tooling round for team points. Struggled to lap cars safely everywhere but the run from Estoril to Adelaide, and got a couple of cut warnings doing so. Car felt slippery for the last 15 minutes and to cap it all off I managed to pick up a stop and go whilst relaying the news that Prof had passed Lazlow.

I remain unable to drive any GT1 save for the Lambo, and even that I'm not too hot in. ???

Started towards the back again after a shocking quali - just bad luck with traffic - and off my pb.

Had an ok start and spent most of the race battling with my teamie JPV. Nice clean racing, although I was a bit cheeky taking advantage when he paused after a slight incident in front ;)

Pitstop went ok and I managed to hold a comfortable gap until the penultimate lap when I ran out of fuel :wetfish: I pulled right over and slowed down on the pit straight hoping the GT1s would appear round the last corner, but they were to far behind to bail me out.

On a positive note, I felt more in control for this race - like I was driving the car rather than it driving me, which hopefully is a good sign.

Yeah, very close racing in the beginning. That was actually me slightly tapping Terry Roberts and waiting for him to straighten it up (sorry!). After you managed to pull a couple of seconds gap I couldn't really close it anymore, whenever I got near I would inevitably visit the gravel and fall back 5-10 secs.

I was wondering how you managed to make up almost 10 secs during the pit stops, fueling short would explain it.  ;D

I thought it was a great bit of overtaking.  :D

Very silly mistake ended my race in the pit lane. I hit the pit boxes on the right which spun me sideways blocking the pit lane, unable to turn back and with lcars approaching I decided it was best to quit and get out of the way.

Qually was a mare, I was up by over half a sec on my final qually time no fewer then 4 times after sector two & managed to bin it all 4 times on the final righthander before the last chicane, would have been comfortably 3rd on the grid if if I'd just completed one of those laps ::) ::) >:(

Spent an enjoyable opening 20 mins behind a train of Z4's (Prof, Lazlow & Craske) & I finally managed to get past Craske only for him to unfortunately catch my rear & take me off. But he kindly waited (as we lost two spots) while I got out the gravel.

Unfortunately the GT1's then caught up & despite them doing a fine lapping job, I phyced myself out & sent myself off track 5 times while being lapped. Just watching/fearing what they might do to get past, they just catch so quickly. So basically a thoroughly miserable last 60mins for me. I really don't enjoy mixed class racing anymore, you're either being held up by cars or feel you're holding them up :(.

Well done to all finishers, good to see some new faces on the grid tonight (welcome guys) 8)

I really don't enjoy mixed class racing anymore, you're either being held up by cars or feel you're holding them up :(.

Was my first time driving the slower class of the two available, I also had an off moment because I was giving too much space, but also tried just sticking to my line and let them overtake me when they're ready for it (eventually helping with a bit lifting if not much track length left).

In general the first option (getting off your line, trying to be helpful) would result mostly in myself losing time and sometimes the GT1 as well cause they're not sure what to expect.
Second option just sticking to the race line reduced my loss of time and in most cases it didn't cost the GT1 much either, they know what to expect when you just stick to it.

So Legzy just think more about your own result and just be a bit more 'selfish' by just sticking to the race line. Doesn't really cost you time and if a GT1 has to wait a bit, it's not your problem! :) It's just part of the racing.

Gutted. :'(

The screen froze, again. Nothing after the crash in the last Upper Endurance race and BOOM, it happened. It lasted about 20 or 30 seconds and after that the textures were totally messed up. I hit alt-tab to fix the textures but the game crashed. Race over. I have really no idea what to do. Again, I have to apologize if somebody had problems with my frozen car.  :-[

Until that, the race was good. Had some good fights along the race and because of Legzy's and Craske's incident, I managed to gain few positions. I also had some good racing with picnic. 8) I managed to drive a few laps after my pit stop until the game crashed.

Well done winners and pods.  :)

Rather enjoyed that 8) Finally a finish!

Messed up the start a bit, sorry TT though it did give me a bit of a break ;) Was slowly coming up on H@L when Manteos went off after the haipin making for an interesting moment as we go each side lol. Then spent the rest of it alone trying to keep it steady from what i remember and surprised to be between H@L and TT. Only annying thing was pit crew came on saying your running low, pit next lap so didnt manually request a stop. When i came in they werent ready and wasted 5 secs :( Came out with about 15 secs to H@L and managed to drop it to about 9 secs but couldnt gain at all really, car didnt feel quite the same as earlier.

Only one race to go for both now :(

Ooh, GT2's at Interlagos next week 8)
