Firstly congrats to Bartosz, Rick and Mike.

One of my best races ever purely for the fun factor...
Quallied 6th, happy with that. Early on, following an incident, I found myself with ideas above my station running in 2nd. With 37 laps there was no way I was going to keep Rick in check and, eventually, the fast boys got through.
I spent the bulk of the, what felt very long, race in 4th/5th. That said it was mostly racing rather then solo.
My real clash was with Bernie - he was definately quicker in that Coop - but he had a couple of wobbly's and I stayed steady which is what clinched it.
A few more laps and it might have been a different story - saw him appearing in my mirrors towards the end.

Anyway looking forward to Oulton. Actually I have never even tried the track so better get practicing...

As a PS I'd just like to comment on the high standards of driving. The overtakes were clean (I was not the overtaker unfortunately) and those being lapped made it very smooth and easy.

After some problems in qualifying caused by my using the 60fps mod (evidently not a good idea) I qualified 5th and got off to a good start but fell back a few places while trying to avoid the L1 pile up. I got past SB but immediately had an off at T1 and lost three places. I squeezed past Vos on L9 by taking to the grass at T1 (a daring manoeuvre that was not entirely intentional I have to admit) followed by Bernie. After a few laps Bernie got past me on L12 but immediately had a wobble and I was able to retake the place. After that it was a fairly lonely race as I concentrated on staying on the track.

So a satisfactory first outing in the Privateers after a couple of miserable races in the Works league and looking forward to Oulton Park.

Gutted!! I like Kyalami so really was hoping to go well here. Splashed out a stack of tokens on the super-fast Eagle & then chucked it all away with a daft error on lap 1 :'(. Managed to hook up one of those all-blue pribluda laps in quallie for pole & then even managed to make a half-decent start & get away in the lead. Not sure how I managed to get the entry of Sunset Bend wrong though - I seem to recall checking my mirrors to make sure nobody was inside me as I turned in - then looked up to find I'd missed my braking point. Just about managed to get the car under control & would have got away with that slide had it not taken place right in front of the whole grid :P Inevitably I got collected & perished in the resulting fireball. Apologies to Bernie who had the misfortune to come upon my slow-moving car as he rounded the corner - was really pleased to see that you managed to keep going (that Cooper must be armour-plated :tank:)

Delighted to see teammate Bartosz grab the win & teammate Tim get 4th ;D Congratulations also to Rick & Michael for the podium. BTW totally agree with Tim about the gentlemanly standards of driving.

Quallied 4th and was hoping for a good result but things didn't turn out as planned as we entered sunset corner for the first time I found the track full of Eagles and was unable to avoid the stationary car of A.H.
Thought I may have squeezed past him but it seems he drove off into my path so I ended up T boning the race leader (sorry if I spoiled your race Al  ::))

Amazingly I was able to drive away undamaged albiet now in 7th or 8th place .

The rest of the race was a ding dong with teamy Mike in his grass cutting fezzer and Vlad the impaler in his Brabby chariot . Lap 9 we were following Vlad into crowthorn , Mike decided a bit of grass cutting was in order,   good idea , re joining in front of a suprised Vosb who had to back off and kindly also let me through up the inside , nice bit of soggy team work  there Mike  :) I got settled in 5th behind Mike but really fancied my 4th place back,  Mike wasn't playing and decided to keep the place for himself , I got up close a few times and even passed him , but then used a bit to much welly and lost the place again allowing Vos to re gain his rightful position as the meat in a soggy sandwhich .

By this time with all the on track action I was starting to feel a bit drained , escp. when i saw there was still 27 laps or so still to go and neither me or my car felt at thre best so I decided to go easy and try not to make any more silly errors , Kia is a track that rewards smooth driving but i guess i was a bit to smooth on the day .

Pity about soggie teamy Steve losing his Podium place (guess you blew it Steve) but a great race even if it was about 20 laps too long .

Grats to the podium and all who finished and commiserations to those who fell by the wayside  :)

That was great race for me.

Afther qually I was 2 behind Al.
Al was very fast and I knew that if I want to win, I have to push from the beginning or else Al's Eagle will just dissapear.

Unfortunately AL spun going into Sunset Bend. I was very lucky to run away with that. I was sure that there were big crash behind me, because Rick was gone and gap between me and second Tim was quite big. At that moment I was sure that it's going to be a boring race.

Everything changed on lap 5 when Rick got his 2 place again. He was very fast and started to close the gap to me. Luckily I've managed to keep him behind me and win the race.

Grats to the rest of podium and all finishers

Well, I loved that race. Easily my best ever performance. I didn't finish, nor did I qualify high up. What I did do was put together lap after lap of consistent times - a huge improvement for me. It was just disappointing to lose it and rip two wheels off within seconds of thinking "I'm doing fine here - I can make it to the finish".

Spent much of my time actually racing too! The bright blue of Maestro closing in then falling back was mesmerising and I actually fended him off and pulled away at times, boosting my ego enormously!

This was so much fun compared with my usual races, where I tend to spin once or twice early on (not always my own fault), lose touch with everyone, and then trundle to the finish watching for the leaders coming up behind.

Excellent stuff - thanks everyone. I want more!

(All from memory, haven't seen a replay) I had a good qualy getting within a couple of tenths of my Brab PB.  But it only got me 3rd on the grid.  The start was good in that I didn't lose any positions but I didn't gain any either.  All was well, getting thru Crowthorne cleanly.  That is always a relief.  But going around Sunset Bend I came up rather qickly on Al who was still sliding a bit and moving to my left as I recall.  I managed to back it down and just eek past his nose.  (Bummer dude.  Sorry it ended you race.)  That cost me some seconds and a few positions but I was very grateful to just be driving a non-damaged car.  I had fun catching up to and working to get past a couple of drivers (Vosblod and ?).  Very good sportsmanship there.  Making me work but not being a moving road block.  Soon found myself in 2nd but with a 10 second gap to Bartosz.  I gave it all I had trying to close the gap and could shave a second every couple of laps.  But the effort was just a little bit out of my comfort zone and sure enough I eventually had a spin.  No damage but when I got back under way the gap was back to 10-12 seconds.  Arrgh!  I kept up he effort for a few more laps but soon realized it just wasn't going to happen without a goof up by Bartosz.  I let off just a wee bit and hoped for it but it never happened.  Eventually I backed off a little more just to preserve the engine.  All in all a fun race for me.

Congrats Bartosz for your well earned win and to Mike for your podium finish.  Looking forward to Oulton Park.  I like the track.  You know there is some great foorage out there of some fellow named Clark tooling around with a camera mounted on his car.  Back when every lap was life risking with trees and ditches and the like everywhere.  Man those guys were crazy!
