Hate it even before I tried it. >:(  Mostly 'cause I fear it's gonna eat away the great Valencia GP circuit. :( And from TV BTCC races it looks like a pesky-twisty-no-soul-leveled modern track. :(

BTCC TT? Is it not the F1 track then?

Quality - definitely joining you for this one!  ;D

I know what you mean TT, the F1 races (I guess you mean F1) have hardly set the world on fire but I don't think we have quite the same "dirty air" issues - it's a different challenge at least isn't it!

F1, yea. FIA GT and F1, right. W(B)TCC used a different track then? Whatever. :D
Well, I can't resist the UKGTR challenge - it's my drug. ::)  I'll be there.

Not the same as Monaco or Macau I will tell ya. I actually like them more than the Valencia street circuit. But it can give us better racing as there is actually some space :) will be there for sure

Oh no, an exam on Wednesday...

Yeah, I'll be there for sure anyway

Already knowing Interlagos like the back of my hand... gave me a chance to jump on here.

I'm trying to think of another track we do that is like it & I can't really. So looking forward to learning a new track ;D

Had a quick turn round here and it seems very smooth for a "street" circuit. Even the infamous bumps at the swing bridge were absent. Still, a new circuit and a chance to drive something different will hopefully make it fun.

2:10 so far in the uncompetative but very nice to drive "Porka 996-GT3-RSR" (I think that's what it's called ???).... not the 997 & not the BiT.

A very fair chance I'll use this for GT2 next season, so figured now would be a good chance to give it some air time so it can be re-equalised at the next physics pack. :)

Dammit!

Unavoidable family commitments....they won't be getting Xmas cards this year, they'll be getting calendars complete with my racing schedule to avoid these complications in future  ::).

I bet Mansell never had these problems.

Tried it a bit and still undecided. Its flatness, blandness and modern look doesn't give it instant appeal but there are a couple of good corners, with those 3 fast right handers and final turn a real buzz. I dunno yet :)

With S11 in mind, tried a few options and the 911RSR is so much "porsche like" (tm Mark Jonzo) and more fun than 997, for me anyways. If they were roughly on the same pace then.............................

You mean, you were doing 1:04s in the 911 and I was doing 1:09s in 997 and you wish they were of the same pace? :D
Only got to do it half right with F430, any other car spits me out. :( As I don't really like the track either I want to wait if it's any like Anderstorp - I don't like that track either but racing is good there.

Kinda  :) There's about a second and a half difference for me but a world of difference in how they feel.

I've had two & a bit sessions here & I'm undecided on the track. I've got a feeling that it's one you can't really enjoy till you've mastered it. Those 'god damn kerbs' have been somewhat irritating too >:( >:(

2:08 in the F430, 2:10 is my best in anything else. See you tonight.

Thanks for putting that on and restarting for us :)

The 911 didn't look such a good pick when I started from the rear but I had a blast. Think I put good passes on a few but, in all honesty, I would never be that forceful in a "real" race. Apologies if it got anyones goat.

Still not sure on track but we simply must have street circuit in S11 and I wouldn't be disappointed to have this one. In all honesty it was easier to pass here than at Interlagos, for example. Gazza and I might need to be informed about the lights though ;)

The 911 is just far superior to 997 model (not surprising really) and I'd prolly pick it if its performance was improved a tad. It was easy to compete on this track cause I had more time to pracci than most but it wouldn't be competitive on a regular track, unless a few try the "slower" options.

Also feel that this race ends a little era of Tuesday night GTR fun and that makes me slightly glum. That said, if I see the same old faces for iR it wouldn't be so bad ;D

As for the track...It certainly made for close racing...quality stuff :thumbup1:

Well that was entertaining :)

So much for standing starts - from now on every time I see a green light I'm gonna stop, just in case gazza or sbg are coming the other way ::) ;D

Was making decent progress with others falling off all around me, but kept getting too close to those horrible kerbs and losing time. Got into a little battle with Dave, but took a different line into the last corner and couldn't stop in time. Sorry about the tap Dave - hope your pitting wasn't a result of this :-[

Chanced it with the kerbs one too many times ending up broken in the wall and had to pit for repairs. Dave waited for me later in the race and we had a good few laps together towards the end.

No problems to report with track or pits except that low sun in quali was a bit offputting - almost had me reaching for the Raybans 8)

I really went for it on the opening laps. I managed to do a double outside overtake in T2 when it was the top 5 within a second maybe

But later on I did the last fast corners sliding all around and ended up in the wall losing some pieces of the car LOL went for repairs and rejoined a lap behind, tried to keep going behind the others to have some fun but after another spin I decided to quit.

Shame we couldn't get away with a standing start :P

I noticed the green lights as soon as I went to the grid but it was obviously an anomaly since the clock was running and the grid was still incomplete. When we started properly I was amazed to see most of the field driving like they'd never seen the track before; frankly I've seen better driving on pick up servers.

Was even more amazed to see that somebody didn't take the hint from the first race and still managed to go early. ::) They say doing the same thing and expecting different results is a sign of madness, you know. :P At least race 2 was a lot cleaner, and helps justify my continued belief in the value of rolling starts.

Sorry about the tap Dave - hope your pitting wasn't a result of this :-[

I'd blown a tyre on the wall and was struggling round. :wheelchair: Saw you come in behind but with the tyre replaced I was on my way. Had no chance to race with anyone else so I parked for most of a lap to wait for you so I had somebody to race with. :D

Couldn't quite get into a rhythm and was massively off the pace for most of the race. Was just about keeping ahead of 57 when I ran out onto the curbs and face planted myself back into the wall. Suspension damage was the official verdict but a dead engine meant I couldn't limp back to the pits. :(

Oi! Who ever heard of lights going from green to red then green again! Plus i wasnt paying particular attention to them at the first start and was just watching you lot. Its not like i'm used to being that close to the lights!

Wish i'd never bothered now :(

Well that was fun!

At "the first" race, I got a jump start as I had no idea how the lights would work. Got confused as the lights were green at start. I saw the red lights coming and started when the guys in front of me started. Not a good decision. :P

In the 2nd race, I had some good fights after I did spin in the T2. I was maybe a bit too aggressive in some points. Sorry about that! Managed to climb up to 3rd place. So close TT, so close... ;)

I wouldn't worry Spanner, I still don't have a clue what was going on with those lights. It was all Gazzas fault ;)

Lights don't work, no. :( Was strange in the first start and even better in the second. :D Sorry Span. ;)
Well, I got to know the track and I still don't like it. That aside, I don't think it'd make a good racing ground, not even in a single class race. God forbid multiclass. Too narrow and alternate corners force driver to take the whole track and half of this could be interpreted as blocking, though in fact it's not. Very hard to overtake, even with more than one second faster laptime.
Was hard to drive after Jose, had to keep a bit of safety distance and that meant I couldn't get close enough for a braking overtake. Finaly got by with a bit of the forced move on the outside and as sbg said I probably wouldn't do it in the actual race. :(
API got close at the end, Gallardo is quick here if you can squeeze it through corners. I couldn't. :(

This is a tough track & it's taken me time to decide... but I quite like it.

Jumped in the Gallado shortly before the race started & it felt lovely, I just couldn't manage to finish a timed lap ;D
Made it safer & safer bit by bit, trying not to spoil the most enjoyable 'feel' of the car. In qually I was still working out the race setup but managed to get my time down to about 2:10 in the final few seconds & with more to come I was sure.

The race started, before it started for some people ::)
With 6 out of twelve people already in the pit & myself now in 2nd place... there was no point in anything but a restart & I swerved backwards & forwards across the track keeping people behind me as I typed...

The race go going again & was quite fun actually. Was pretty much with Pete the whole way. He lost it a couple of times from what looked like getting too much power down to quickly & I lost it a couple of times because my back-end was still too loose.
I thought the Gallado was quick in a straight line... well boy was his Seat fast! He managed to tear past me on the straights a few times, but the Gallado has good brakes & it was a good match up I thought.

Would be happy to see that track again :)

p.s. Can we introduce standing starts to our league races? :P ;)

Sorry Span, can't resist. ;D

I thought that by now people would be used to the fact that the lights procedure STARTS when either the countdown goes to 00:00 or the message "Full grid" (or something like that) appears. Still people messed up, twice!! ;D
