GPL sets pro long to 12 laps for Oulton. That is of course well too short, so the official race length will be set to 24 laps. Don't forget to set you race fuel levels accordingly.

Fecked if I'm letting Hondas take all the lap records.

Wait, it's a 2L event? Score!!!! :D

We'll see - but I'm giving the Fez a final chance at finishing for this one.
If the engine pops again then it's being relegated to my 'not to be used' list  ;D

Since downloading Oulton Park a couple of weeks ago I've become completely hooked and the subsequent stupid grin is in danger of becoming a permanent fixture on my face.  What a blast this track is and so difficult to perfect the turns that when you do nail them the satisfaction is huge, as I expect many of you would concur.

Looking forward to endeavouring to upset a few of those swaggering Wazzas tonight, so that SHE is not so pleased with what will (are?) belong to her!   :P

Damn!
Lost the back end while chasing Evil back down and holding Ken off - off with the left front and out!  :hang:

At least I outlasted the engine this time

Actually finishing a race at Oulton was a bonus, but I made a few too many mistakes to be in with a shout of the 3rd place that was dangling like a carrot in front of me! There was a nice train of Ken, evil, Tim and myself following Dave and a disappearing Gerard in the distance. When I set my best lap with a nice tow from Ken up front, I screwed up braking at Cascades, screwed up again later at Old Hall when I positioned my car wrong. The resulting slide was enough for me to hope nobody hit me as the brakes attempted to slow the car down, but unavoidable given the result.

A momentary lapse of reason and it was all over :-\,

A sad lack of practice, followed by an abysmal start dropping 2 places off the grid, was mitigated by some steady first laps and taking advantage as others trimmed the grass verges.  I found myself in 2nd spot without having extended myself unduly, but Gerard was well away in front by then.
The more laps I did, the more comfortable I felt, until I started lapping cars and I got totally out of rythm for a lap and allowed Ken to close up behind me ..dragging Dave with him. Then, crossing the s/f line with 9 laps to go, my mind went AWOL, missed my braking and change down entirely, and I was doing the wall of death around the very outside edge of the tarmac!!   Almost kept it all together but as Ken swept through I was aware that Dave must be close and stayed wide...too wide and took one wheel off on the first tree and another wheel off on the second tree , so that ended my race!!

Grats to Gerard, Ken and Dave and to all those who were more focused than I was.  :-\ ::)

Very enjoyable race and quite happy with third, despite a mistake at the start of the last lap spoiling any hope of challenging Ken for second, after a great battle for many preceding laps pressuring him in vain for all I was worth.  An earlier mistake had cost me a position to Clive, which was cancelled by him binning it at T1 a few laps later with Ken and I on his tail, though had I charged any harder I would no doubt have joined him as another statistic!

There was also some good close racing with Tim added to the mix for a while, until his attempts to take Knickerbrook exhaust-first a couple of times also ended his race.

Grat's to Gerard for a commanding win and to Ken for a remarkably cool, composed drive to second.

You were very unlucky Clive, from my replay you should have been safe as you were well clear of the trees, but an invisible object seemed to pull you back towards them.  I think this track has a few hidden dangers if you stray to the turf.

It certainly didn't feel like that from where I was sat!!

I hadn't turned a GPL wheel since the 67 race here a week past Sunday, so qually was a journey of discovery to see just how far you could go in these grippier less powerful cars. Early on I was languishing down the leaderboard but a final grid spot of 4th wasn't too bad considering.

We all got away well and nice considerate driving from everybody and some decent latency meant there were no first lap contacts that I know of. I can't quite remember the sequence of events but after about 3 or 4 laps I was up to second, but Gerard was easing away out front. I couldn't hold that position though and the pack was snapping at my heals. For some reason the car started to go away from me. Although prib was still showing nice and green on my tyre temps the grip just didn't seem to be there and I was scrubbing a lot of speed off recovering from half spins. Anyway I lost a few places as Dave, Evil and maybe a couple of others got by me. It was hectic stuff and as the race ebbed and flowed some cars fell by the wayside. For about the last 10 laps I held second with Dave applying the pressure. He gained yards on me each lap through Knickerbrook but I seemed better at Lodge and Old Hall. With about three to go I thought I'd broken him only to see him loom large in my mirror as we started the final lap. Thankfully he overcooked Old Hall and I could relax and take the runner up spot.

Grats to Gerard for a fine drive in the little Eagle and thanks to Dave for a nice clean race.

Unfortunately my mad dash back from my son's Judo lesson was in vain.  I'd left my computer on but when I got home IGOR had locked up so I had to reboot the PC anyway.  As it came back up, the server was in transition but it still let me join.  I couldn't get on the grid but it let me start from the pit lane.  Unfortunately in my rush to join I'd not selected the BRM P261 and I ended up in the 3 Litre BT19 so I had to quit the race.  Gutted I really enjoy Oulton, but I won't make that mistake again.

Good race for me. On qualy, i had a few clean laps, so i could have fun with the small eagle around the oulton track. That was the easy part, because i had not a so easy race. I've been alone at the first place, but i had to drive fast to keep a gap with the other drivers not to be drafted. Hopefully, i made this gap on the first laps, but then, it's been down from 10 to 5 seconds. That is to say they were not slow at all behind me !

The few i lapped were very nice to let me pass (i think some almost have gone on the grass to do so!). Thanks to them !
Next race, spa won't be the same song, i hate that track :)
