Qualifying: 20:10 (10 mins)
Race: 20:20 13 laps (~30 mins)
Cars allowed: Any GTC-65 including the Ferrari 250GT SWB (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358.msg54518#post_f250swb), Aston Martin DB4 (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358.msg54518#post_aston_db4), Plymouth (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358.msg54518#post_plymouth), 1310 Mini Cooper S (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358.msg54518#post_Mini1310) (but excluding the GT40 and Mclaren M1A and Lotus Elan and AC Shelby Cobra and TVR 400 & Corvette 65)

After Race one, there will be a very swift server restart & we'll have ourselves a figure of eight race ;D.  

Race Two
Track: Raleigh Park (Download HERE (http://www.humyo.com/F/9231427-2101174305))
Practice: ~20:50 (10 mins)
Qualifying: 21:00 (5 mins)
Race: 21:05 40 laps (~15 mins)
Cars allowed: Any TC-65 (not including the 1310 Mini Cooper S)

Server: UKGTL Classic Cup

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7).
(3) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R;group=210;theme=5)
(4) This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 which will need to be installed prior to racing; please get it from the downloads page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358.msg54518#msg54518).

Right then, Loch Rannoch won the vote for our end of season fun event 8).

But do people fancy making this a shorter race 25-30mins & then having a 15mins blast in the TC65's at Raleigh Park figure of eight after maybe?

Just an idea as it was quite a close vote. Let me know your thoughts?

p.s. Are you happy with GTC65's here? I suggest doing a few laps before commenting on that ;)

A right bunch of us are joining the server for some cross country fun right now ;D

Note the slight change in cars available.

Can I politely suggest, that if you're slow like me & limited for practice time... try the 1310 Mini  :thumbup2: (I'm not normally a fan either :no:).

While if you finished in the 'top 5' of either GTL season, you drive for Team RVS or your name is Simon/Geoffers... you've not got enough tokens ;)

Is this the same track we raced at before or a new download ???

GTC-65 is cool, Loch Ranoch would have got my vote if I'd realised there was a vote ...
Raleigh 8 is of no interest. I might join for a laugh.

Same download mate, but only about 33% of the same track & in reverse direction :o
The rest of this track is made up of an offroad secion. Looks great & good fun drive too.

Raleigh 8 "race" is meant to be a giggle, think demolition derby and release those end of season tensions  ;D

And watch out for the Prodigy & Team Oldies boys settling a few scores  :P

Fantastic, this will no doubt be hilarious - I'm game for the double header event, always nice to take out that end of season frustration on you lot :)

Should be on tonight about half 9 for some giggles if anyone's about - if it's a short lap can we have a suitable race distance time, I can see this being quite a lot of fun and I'm not sure we'll be spending too much time perfecting lines :)

Great fun tonight chaps. Rannoch produced some excellent racing, which I managed to watch most of after crashing out at my favourite spot :wetfish:

As for Raleigh, bring on our first figure 8 season ;D

Well I'd been practising all week and struggling to find that perfect balance, particularly in the high speed corners - managed to get a good start....oh yes, that's a load of carp isn't it.  ;D

Cracking night guys, really was entertaining....shame we were missing a few but couldn't be helped.

For those sceptics who doubt GTL is serious business, a typical example of our racecraft and prowess...

In the first race I took the Gentlemen Drivers Club's lovely yellow Fezza 275. Had great fun drifting round the offroad bends, racing with teamie Alex's Aston, Plymouths, Alpines and Minis and a few others. Had to do a SnG after hitting the inside barrier of the last turn, but I wasn't the only one....  >:(

In the next race, I took the Abarf, playing the softly softly approach, a love tap here and there  :-*

Somehow I lasted to the end, got a cut track penalty, headed to the pits but my crew having too much fun watching the carnage to bother. Should have stayed out!

And in the last race decided to take a Mustang, but naughty Mr Oily driving the wrong way hit me head on, and wiped us both out  :nono: :nono:  ;D

Nearly didn't make the fun because of a visitor. Filled him full of wine until he passed out then leaped on here just in time for Raleigh. 1st race was battling Simon in my mini for 1st place until something wiped me out. 2nd race took the Falcon and lolloped my way round,  thumping all and sundry until suddenly it said "race over". Thought that was it until Legzy advised on here that the fun was continuing back in Scotland. Never raced in the wrong direction there before but thanks to a couple of setup tips from Legzy while the grid was forming up (cheers mate) managed to just about keep up and finished....last, by miles, but the fun on the way left me grinning all night. I was still chuckling as I shovelled the vistor into the broom cupboard.

Roll on next season.

Loch Ness Rannoch with a gravel section was quite fun.
Never used the 275 before because of its kart alike brakes  ;D that is why I took it, for testing.
Now I believe I like it a lot. Same story as I had with CSL. Try it once, didn't like it and one day
tested it for more laps and fall in love.  :P
Deeply exciting and fun race with Matt, Ade, Goldtop and Lazlow (am I forgeting anyone?)

Raleigh was extremely insane and fun again. I spent all race smiling and laughing.
I cracked myself when at first race, I beg for help to Mr_oily's  :tank:. When I was under attack from more than 40 drivers around :lol:
We need a Raleigh figure 9 race in the next season, but with gentleman driving spirit...   :D

Fantastic fun, you guys should have stuck with us for longer the last few Corolla only races at Loch Rannoch were soooooo
much fun! Driving standards took a dip! lol !
How I managed to get that Plymouth round there in the first race ....opposite lock everywhere, was more like Colin McRae Rally!!

p.s. I have also done a 2nd zip file containing the replay files from the 'extra' races that happened later. I'll leave these available to download for a couple of days & then remove them as they're not for the feint hearted or up to our usual clean driving standards ;)

Had great fun in all races.
Started the 1st on poll, but was in last place by turn 3 ;D & then had all kinds of silly moments as I pushed to hard to catch up... had some great racing along the way with everyone at the back half of the finishing order (till I planted myself head 1st into the Castle). Think PR got that one in the end.

Raleigh Park was great fun as always, added dimension being on team speak... any suggestions that we were playing 'take out the leader', are totally unfounded & we deny everything. But well done to Simon for evading many many close moments to take the flag.

We then ended up doing Raleigh Park again & then Loch Rannoch a few times more... still had about 7 of us for our 3rd extra race in the Corolla's. Obviously (apart from Oily) we'll be back to clean racing next week :-*


p.s. that pic from Oily doesn't do it justice... we were both a couple of foot in the air after the jump (check the car shadows ;)) at full tilt & both landed them to continue battling down the hill 8) I hope you manage a little vid mate.

Yeah, that was great fun taking these classics out for a ride in the mud. We had a lovely classic Aston/Ferrari battle in which we both had our hands full of keeping the cars on the road.
Had the S/G on exactly the same moment and we decided to head for the pits at the same time.. an came out of the pits with exactly the same gap, F1 style!
Had a little chuckle when the three cars in front of us made way until the Alpine realised we raced for positions  ;D
Then the game decided to dq me because I didn't do the s/g  ??? which was an annoyance because of the splendid battle.
Raleigh was fun again with mass mayhem especially by one-who-I-not-shall-mention-but-he-is-the-reigning-champ  :-*

Cheers lads, had to be done after such a good evening's fun and frolics - certainly no shortage of action to work with!

The Aston was the camera car Tony, think there's always one in every replay - I just used that mouse move button and swung it about a bit. Shame you can't get that view from all of them.

Any chance of getting the Rayleigh results uploaded? Some of us were taking it seriously! :laugh: ;)
