Onto the penultimate race. In Works Hristo and John are battling it out with Jethro still in with a mathematical chance. The Privateers promises a battle royale between Rick and Al H.

Reserve drivers should not join the server until there are only 30 minutes of qualifying left. Please restrict chat to pit messages. Moderating will be by reported incidents only, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident with a particular emphasis on lap one. The aim is to review the race the following weekend so incident reports should be submitted within five days of the race (ie the following Friday). We're hopeful most incidents can be resolved amicably and recommend a days deep breath with a replay review before posting. A sorry in the forum won't be taken as an automatic admission of guilt by the moderators.

With the new token system chassis strategy will be a factor. A driver must have sufficient tokens for the chassis he drives in the race.  Any driver who does not have sufficient tokens will be disqualified from the result and his tokens will be set to zero.

(ping myjamesonline.net) Instructions will be provided in the chatroom – please ensure you join the correct server, due to the way we import if you start the race on the wrong server your result will not count. If you can try to make sure you are in the chatroom by 8.50pm this will enable a decision without any delays to the start time.

Silverstone is built on the site of a World War II bomber base, RAF Silverstone, which opened in 1943. The track hosted the first F1 championship race in 1950. The British Grand Prix has been permanently held here since 1987 although it is due to switch to Donnington Park in 2010. The airfield's three runways, in classic WWII triangle format, lie within the outline of the present track. The first two races were held on the runways themselves, with the 1949 International Trophy switching to the perimeter track. This arrangement was used for the 1950 and 1951 Grands Prix. In 1952 the start line was moved from the Farm Straight to the present Finish Straight, and this layout remained largely unaltered for the following 35 years. Since 1975 the track has been modified with the introduction of chicanes etc – we are using the 1960’s layout.

Sorry to hear that Bookie.  Hope everything goes as best it can.

Everything was going as well as expected until the Honda's camshaft disappeared leaving my engine a smoking wreck only suitable for the scrapheap. I blame sabotage, as Hristo's engine was going so sweetly he was decimating the field. 2 seconds a lap on the next competitor after Bob dropped out.

Ah well, on to Monza and the next engine breaker.

I had a grand stand view of Hristo disappearing into the distance...for a few laps at least.  Think my exit was also caused by a camshaft, was having a bit of a lonely drive.  For some reason my fastest qually lap didn't register.

Someone in an Eagle gave me the mother of all rear endings (ooh matron) at the end of the hangar straight, 8/10 for clearing the wall! I did brake a bit early, was being slightly cautious, least it was in qually.

Had a good clean battle with Tim (Muttram) for most of the race until I spun at Woodcote.  Sorry for getting in your way there Hristo, I thought I was going to end up stationary on the racing line so I booted it to get across the track and out of the way.  Didn't realize you were that close!  I can normally keep a track of who is behind me using Prib but you seemed to come from nowhere.  It must have been down to the extreme concentration trying to catch Tim ::)

Not much to report here. Apart from 2 scares with backmarkers, it was a lonely run through the race. The engine blew up on the last lap, 3 corners from the end. I kept the car going but it eventually came to a halt before the bridge. Someone thought it'd be wise to go left to where I was cruising and took himself out after crashing into the bridge ahead.

qualed fairly quick as I got a nice habit of doing lately. 2nd this time. After being Granny deciding the speed for 3-4 following 1/3 of the race they made their way through. I let Fulvio do his pass last turn, but Al came so quick behind I couldn t turn in. now very slow and wide I see Ricks Eagle coming up and I think ..oh well now I go so slow I have to let him by too.All of a sudden I see  he was upside down in the air all over my mirrors..poor Rick..I ended 4 th.
Gz Al for a splendid win and sorry for your Engine blow last lap H.

Played the Lotus trump card for this race & after crossing the line just 0.1 seconds ahead of Fulvio was rather glad that I had.

The speed advantage of the Lotus allowed me to get amongst the quick guys for a change & that made for an exciting race. Started 3rd but being rather paranoid about over-revving the fragile Lotus engine took it relatively easy in the opening laps & was soon passed by both Bob & Fulvio. Wasn’t too worried about losing places to the Works drivers though as I was more concerned about the Privateers class battle, but once my chief rival Rick loomed up behind I realised I needed to get a move on. Started pushing harder & had some fun chasing Evil but still couldn’t shake Rick from my tail. Caught up with Fulvio who was busy fighting Tom ('king Hiro) & followed him when he went up the inside of Tom at Woodcote. Didn't see what happened further behind but saw on Prib that Rick was dropping down the order so I guessed there must have been an incident. (Bad luck Rick but at least you still got 4th place in class so the championship fight goes right to the wire :fencing:).

After that Fulvio started pulling away but then had a spin which handed me 2nd place. Hoped to get a bit of a rest but soon spotted John storming up behind. Luckily for me, after piling on the pressure John eventually had a slight spin too so at last I had a little breathing space. Saw Fulvio approaching fast again towards the end of the race - thought there was enough of a gap to hold him off for the last lap but then got distracted by the yellow flags at Abbey & almost chucked it away completely. Somehow scrabbled back on track & just pipped Fulvio for what I thought was 2nd but after the race was surprised to learn that it was Hristo’s stricken car that had brought out the yellows so I’d inherited a very lucky win.

Commiserations to Hristo after leading all but the final corner of the last lap. Congratulations to Fulvio on the Works win & also to Evil & Tom for the podium. Was also delighted to notice Billy Nobrakes claiming 2nd place in Privateers class – well done Bill – does this mean you like Pro rules now?

Congrats Al !! :clap:  Well done!   You were quite fast (not counting our resident alien) and well deserving of a high finish.  I on the other hand was only so-so fast but deserved better that I got.  The race to stay with you was really fun and I had hopes of finding away around you at some point.  It would have had to be a spin on your part or maybe a scrap with a back marker.  But it all came to an end when I got punted from behind in the last turn.  I landed upright but the impact must have broken something in the engine because it only sputtered from then on.  I had to pull it off the track on the pit straight and nearly took out someone in the process.  Big "sorry" to whomever that was.  Really glad you got by safely.  I was pissed when the wreck occurred but the replay showed a braking error not a wild pass attempt and the offending party apologized in post race chat (that doesn't always happen) which really helps.  No hard feelings to him.

Yes it looks like our Privateers season will come down to the wire at the speed fest of Monza.   :fencing:  How many tokens you gonna have to spend?  heh heh heh   :devil:

Pleased to qually 11th and be in the 29's.
Unfortunately I had to abandon my drive after a few laps, shame as a favorite track.

A podium (Privateers) - thats rare - in fact so rare its not happened before.
Wish I could say it was down to my vastly improved driving - it was more a tortoise & hare story with many of the Privateers drivers failing for one reason or another. Well done to Al on his Privateers win (but obviously hadn't read the tortoise & the hare). Also congrats to Graham Poole who followed me home to claim third spot & give Black Night Racing a 2nd & 3rd finish.
Bit nervous about the mixed grid with Works & Privateers & was careful to give clearance to the cars lapping me. Hristo was on fire - lapped me twice which meant I only had to do 32 laps out of 34 but then realling confused me by when his engine popped. No chequered flag so I did one more gruelling lap to make sure.
Races this long are worse than shovelling snow!

I messed up.  Went off track, slid across the grass and slow rolled off the fence and upside down.  End of!

Congratulations to Al for a great performance.  And a well done to Billy and Graham for a super result.

Upon further review, let me retract my "heh heh heh".  Al, it looks like you have it nearly wrapped up.  You only need to finish 2nd to win the championship.  I, on the other hand, must win with you finishing 3rd or lower.

Don't retract that "heh heh heh" too hastily Rick... if my Monza race is anything like last season's debacle you'll have nothing to worry about. Anyway regardless of the outcome it's been a terrific season & a pleasure racing you.
