Last race in Monaco I asked for a wild card and they told me I had to vote, so I did and got my wild card and did the race. But now it says that I am not "licensed to enter this series" so I wonder what I have to do to race at Monza? If it is possible that is.

If you voted in the Historic Trophy registration thread, one of the mods will push that magic button and sort you out. :)

Any Honda drivers got a decent setup they don't mind loaning me for this one? :)

Hi Goran, I have registered you as a reserve driver - you should still get to race - so you should now be able to see the password.

Don't think I've had the pleasure of the 273 here - sorry Jethro  :(

Jethro, please give early warning which championship(s) you're entering next season and I will avoid them like a rabid rottweiler!

Having a good battle with Tim for second until mindlessly rear ended by guess who.  >:(

Anyway, have yet to congratulate Gerard on his well deserved championship and hope the race was better for the rest of you.  Although from what I saw happening at Parabolica in the early part of the race I guess I'm not the only disgruntled one today!

What a retarded race. I don't know when are people EVER going to learn you can't win the race (or anything) on lap 1, but you can totally lose it. What was the crap at Parabolica? And then people rejoining without paying attention to who's next to them whatsoever. Was that some people's first race ever? But no, I think some just never learn... or even attempt to.

Then after just trying to come up through the field I get behind Jethro, who's having a proper exit off Para and moves to the right near the pitwall, then just when I'm into his slipstream and right behind, he decides to slow down completely! What do you expect me to do, read the future? Was it so difficult to just keep on the throttle until there is nobody behind you? You gave no signs at all you were about to stop.

So anyway, my car went into the wall and got a puncture or something, it couldn't turn right after so I called it a day.

What a silly way to end an otherwise interested Championship. Grats to Gerard again.

Dave, I braked in my normal place only to find you sliding up 3/4 the road. I couldn't avoid you when I realised. Sorry about that.

As for Hristo rear-ending me, it's true I hit the brakes. Bad no-no, and I shouldn't do it. However I had a broken car and was pulling off the road and intending to retire the car. I had glanced in the mirrors about a second before hand and not seen him, so he must have been in the blind-spot somewhere. I got t-boned by somebody in Lesmo 1 which killed the engine somewhat as it wasn't pulling the revs quick enough (tested a bit on the run down to Parabolica, confirmed on the run out of Parabolica), hence my decision to retire there and then. Had I lifted off in the middle of Para the same accident would have likely happened because H likes to run close.

Apologies to everybody for the lag I had. On my end, most of the cars were jumping about a lot, so it was a lottery where to place the car most times.

Had a rubbish Qualifying session but made up for it with an awesome start! Climbed to about 5th I think while all around me bogged down  ;D

Found myself battling with Dave for 2nd after the parabolic disaster and hoping we could reel Evil in (I purposely only tryed to pass on the 2 straights to that end) until he was removed from my race.

Then had a very lonely 10/12 laps until Fulvio caught me, had a cracking battle with him right up until the penultimate lap where I lost the rear end entering Para and ended up in the sand - having gone wider than usual to ensure I missed him. Came to a stop about 2 meters from the hedge and had to do a 3 point turn to get out  ::) this let Phil through to claim a podium with KingHiro steeling 4th from me aswell  :hammer:

Ohwell, always next season.
Congrats to the finishers and all the championship winning types - you all know who you are  8)

"t-boned"! :D well yes I guess I ran into you at Lesmo 1 but you didn't mention that at the time your car was stationary, stuck in the barrier AND pointing the wrong way! Couldn't avoid you & although it was a minor hit, it killed my engine too - race over.

Your car was warping badly at the start Jethro - couldn't run close to you at all. That connection of yours is... not ideal.

OK OK, I may have minced my words somewhat. I got 'it by some idiot thinking outside of Lesmo was a good idea! :P

You say "not ideal". I know it ain't ideal. I keep pushing to have my own connection installed, but my folks won't let me dammit!

What a surprise!!!
I never expected  a win here and with the chassis handicap even a podium was an outside bet  :-\.

I had a sort of setup for the Lotus 43 Barge, which I had used some months ago and at least it stayed on the grey stuff back then so i dug that out at the start of qually.

A few laps on race fuel and it felt  ok'ish, but........so  I tweaked the bump rubbers and rebound settings by a couple of notches and suddenly it all clicked!!!

Dropped the fuel level and went out for a couple of banzai laps, although smooooooth was definitely the quick route with this setup.

I was very fortunate to get a quickish lap in, without tow, that got me about 3rd on the grid. But I still had a few laps of gas on board so I kept going with about 5 mins of qually left. Then Al pulled out of the pits as I exited para and I smelt the possibility of a tow... ;) It worked almost perfectly as I closed to within 2 secs as we entered Lesmo. I got a tow all the way down to para and my only worry was that he might be slow there on cold tyres but although he wobbled a bit he stayed just far enough ahead for me to benefit all the way to the line  ;D.

Pole position at Monza always makes me feel like a Turkey before Christmas...just a target for everyone to hit entering Curve Grande and Lesmo. My main worry was the fast Fezzas behind and some very quick Brabs, all of them would have the advantage of my tow!!!!

I almost cooked the tyres off of the start line but managed to hold the gap to 2nd so that I could move across to take the racing line through Curve...still held the gap at Lesmo 1. I tried to get Lesmo 2 as perfect as I could to carry as much pace as possible onto the straight, because that was where the pack would hunt me down I was sure!!

Approaching Para  and prib told me that the gap was indeed closing fast. It would appear that it was little too fast, as 2nd and 3rd place suddenly dropped off prib and the gap said 3 secs as I ended Lap 1. Just maybe..................

I pushed as hard as I could to stretch that gap over the next few laps and stop anyone benefitting from my tow and slowly by a couple of tenths a lap the gap grew.

Once I had about 6-7 secs I opted for engine and fuel conservation and just monitored the fighting behind between Tim and Fulvio, which seemed like a lot of fun. ::) until Tim went to play in the sand on the beach at Parabolica one lap from the end.

Due to a few notable retirements and a good slice of luck I had an uneventful run to the flag and a very unexpected win...which I was amazed to notice this morning, has lifted me to 2nd in the championship  ;D ;D   but still behind Gerard who was way ahead on points and a much deserved winner this season.

Grats to all for a great seasons racing again, already looking forward to the next one.

Who exactly is the idiot then, Jethro ? You had just collided with Dave & I came round Lesmo 1 at normal speed to find your car stuck in the barrier & pointing towards me. Are you seriously suggesting that it's my fault because I couldn't avoid you ??

No Al, it was a bad joke on my part. I wasn't implicating you at all, hence the smiley. Sorry if it came across that way. :)
