Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/), 2.1 patch from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/) and enable terrain patch.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=227)
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of every-one's connection will be reduced.
(6) Remember that P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function, but our gentleman's agreement is that everyone will stick to a speed limit for the pit-lane of 40mph/60kph (Staying in 1st gear being a decent guide).

I just want to thank Clive for helping me out by putting together the car line up for this race. 8)

I'm sure he never wants to do another lap of the Nürburgring again

p.s. If it doesn't work we blame Clive... If it's a great combo, I'll be happy to take credit  :-*

Intersting car combo. I'm not looking forward to laps of testing on this track so I may just get lazy and drive the L88. Plus, I don't get enough opportunities in it.

Just had a few laps here in the IROC and it's definitely a bit of a handful, but loads of fun. Best time so far is 2:20.1xx

I think it's about time that some more of you lot told us how fast you are going.

My bests in all the cars, when hopping from one to the other, were in the 2:15s but I have since managed a 2:13.7 2:13.1 in one of them.

But not telling you which.  :P

I take my hat off to Legzy for all the work that he has done, and is still doing, for us this season.  It takes an enormous amount of time to test a range of cars and find those that fit together for one track.  And so far I only know that they fit together for me!  The end result being that I am even less sure than I usually am about which one to take!

At first I thought this was the long Nords track. I'll happily test numerous cars on the GP layout. Look for me out on track Tue or Wed. I'm off to Lime Rock tomorrow morning.

Hope its the IROC. Sadly for my macho image, I enjoy the precision/girly cars much more now so it will be that for me unless it sucks. I'll leave you muscle infatuated gents to it  ;)

Hopefully get some pracci on the server through the week as I've not done any laps yet. Thank gawd its not the long version.

Hi guys! I've done some tests with 4 cars listed, in practice 1 session and with race fuel... that's the result:

L88 Coupè: 2.14.184 (but it was the first car I tried... go 1 second down it's surely possible)
IROC: 2.14.6xx (It's that I prefere less here, I gave up after the second lap.)
GT 40 MK II: 2.13.950 (at the second lap, and was possible to go down a bit)
427 Roadster: 2.13.510 (what an intersting choice here...)

Seems that these cars are pretty balanced in race pace, and should be a really interesting race!!! I hope to see a lot of variety of cars in the grid, because each one of these cars deserve to be driven! At the moment, I'm struggling for the choice between L88, GT40 and 427 Roadster, discarding the IROC, and probably the L88, that eats the tyres... but it's always a pleasure to drive...
I'm really undecided till now... Can we make 3 races in row with this car list Chris?  I would like to repeat this event 3 times to try that 3 american Beasts!!! Great balancing work  :thumbup2: :thumbup2: :thumbup2: :fencing:

Luvverly car/track combo. Tested Cobra and IROC so far, and the Cobra is easily a second faster for me. I'm guessing the GT40 is faster again as Clive was using it ;)

Cobra would be a good match vs Mikes L88 I guess 8)

I've also just squeeked a 2.13 in the Mk2 GT40, tried the Iroc......despised it (sorry just can't face it!), but I've not tried the others yet.
Could be do or die this race depending if pc holds up.

Like the car/track combo but cannot have proper pracci and am off the pace.
Given the fact the races are crowded, just give a shout when people are queueing to get in. I'll bail out then (if connected of course).

I was expecting the front of the grid to be at the 2:11.xx sort of mark but last night's impromptu pracy session on the server suggests that 2:10.xx will be the required pace for a front row spot when the lights go green.

Unless they go even quicker when the chips are down.

I was managing regular 15's with race fuel last night. Is 2x tyre wear set? I did 9 laps in GT40MK2
and the tyres were into the red wear region. The cobra or l88 have massive front left overheating
the Mk2 overheats the rear left, and all 4 tyres seem to get high wear.
Strangely for me I quite enjoyed shepparding the 911 round here, but I'm a couple of seconds slower in it
maybe the tyres will last better later in the race?

Me too. Shame that its just a wee bit too slow for me to compete with the faster gents and I have to gun for glory, or probably terrible failure, tonight. Just say again, brilliant track/car choice Legzy/Clive  :)

PnG doesn't like me anymore  :( Joined very late as the server looked full very early so stayed away. Then saw there was space late on so got 1 lap  of qual and lined up on the grid. The lights went green, I hit the gas and nothing happened ??? Hey ho, hope you all had a good one. Best I managed on race fuel in the 911 was a 12.3 this afternoon - great slidey fun although the tyres wore much more at the back, so the 2nd half would have been interesting!

It's been awhile but this was a classic starting line pileup  :-\
Was hit numerous times and when the dust rose the mighty V8 was not alive anymore.
Too bad because I was doing decent times (unlike pracci this week).

Congratulazioni to the (Italian?) winner.

Yeah, you have to wait for Legzy to put the results up first. Then there is a link underneath the results called "Submit an incident report" which you use.

PnG hung again in quali >:(, twice :taz:, picked a Cobra, virtually no praccy in it  ::) (should have stayed in the GT-40), but had a good race with Legzy, API and Clive.

But eventually ran out of talent ( a recurring theme nowadays) and just lost it almost everywhere.

Very dissappointed with my performance of late and am starting to wonder what's going wrong ???,  I forsee a break from racing coming up as I just don't enjoy it lately, not sure why but there you go. :-\

I want to apologize with Clive for the tap at first lap, but I totally missed my braking point... Luckily you reached to keep your car on the road, and the only thing I could do was letting you pass me, and re-gain your position.

About my race, it was really fun... After the first damned lap, I re-ordered my ideas, and I started to have a good pace for the first 11 laps. Then, when my come back was complete, I overtook Ian at the last corner, and at the same corner in acceleration my car spun into the guard rail... real newbie move! With broken suspention and with my steering wheel crooked, I had to give up and bring my car to the 5th position till the end... but it was funny!

My friend Bonni, thanks Mr. Curnow for the awesome duel for the 2nd time in 2 races!!! It will be an intersting face to face in every race! Grats to all my teammates, that made a great work till the end!
Unfortunately for the next week we will not be able to join the race, but from April 29 we'll be free by other champs, and we'll have fun with you as ever :)
Cu at the next and grats to Mike Miller for the deserved victory!

P.S. [VDA] Isacchini => Lalethor
       [VDA] Bonni => bimbonos

Good race. Got mugged at the start as usual when on auto clutch, should have tried manual, but forgot
passed a couple of fallers off, then got stuck behind CLive who seemed to be slower than normal at first
got passed by the ones who fell off, then had some good tussles with FMG CLive and Legzy, Lalethor went off
somewhere ( I think maybe a coming together with someone) so passed him, he caught up of course as he was
a lot faster on a lap, but he lost it at least once trying not to ram me into the final chicane ( the MK2 just doesn't
stop well,  for me) and then seemed to be having trouble with others holding up his advance through the field.#
Was almost catching the injured Manteos near the end, and had passed FMG after he spun it under power or
got a wheel up the inside kerb in final turn. 6th was better than expected, so I am a happy racer.
Good track car combo, except perhaps 911, a few brave souls took it, but it wasn't really in the same league IMHO

No problem Manteos, were you the blue GT40 who appeared suddenly in my left ear?  Thanks for letting me back past you.  I think it may had cost you a few more places as well.

I got well roughed up on the first lap by just about everybody except the guy in the pit car so don't worry.  ;D

It was a good race with lots going on all the way through.  Saw a lot of Legzy, Tim, Geoffers and Matt in just about any order you wish to nominate.

I just feel annoyed because I messed things up all on my own at about 1/3 distance.  I got a bit carried away trying to get past Tim (FMG) at T1 and ended up spinning nose first into the barrier.  It was following Tim that I found difficult as when he started doing massive slides, I started to copy him and my setup just wouldn't have it.

In the closing laps I was trying to fend off another #88 Cobra but failed.  When I looked at the results I didn't feel so bad as it was your mate who was on pole.  Lalethor was it?
Good fun though.  Thanks all and grats to the podium.

Despite all his ruddy pc woes, just got a pm from Madd congratulating me on the champ win. That really says a lot about the community here, top drawer (I'm doing a Legzy ;D). It also says a lot about his maths as I'm not quite there yet with one dropped score ;)

Congrats Mike/all. I kiss you all on both cheeks.

Edit-I think it says more about my maths

Looked to have all the ingredients of a good race for me - especially as luck had me actually picking a fast car for a change!

Qualified well (for me) and after nearly getting through L1 cleanly (sorry for the nudge into T1 Clive, evidently 'early braking' wasn't early enough!) and soon found myself in 6th.
Where I managed to stay more or less throughout the entire race, had numerous battles with other cars which normally ended when one or the other fell off of our own accord  ;D

All this went to pot with 2 laps to go when my rear tyres just gave up on me inbetween 2 of the corners - viewing my replay it becomes clear why as I appear to have had the most sideways GT40 by far  :whistling:
Ended up finishing in 11th having managed the remaining laps about 4 seconds slower on average and with a spin thrown in for good measure  ::)

Nevermind, was a damn good laugh which is why I do the P&G stuff anyway

Oh, and to the (VDA?) driver in the Cobra who span me - thanks for letting me back through, and no worries - that's racing  :)

Looks like i missed a corker, abeit an American muscle car lock out.

Had a late opportunity to get my 911 on track at Brands hatch via GTPorsche magazine, so i did that instead !  8)

Pretty sure it was almost as much fun as you lot had...and no spins involved  ;)

oh dear, last on track :(

With all the profile resets to try and get the thing to sign in online I lost what small work I'd done on the setup that I could get a 2:17 with and was even slower!

I will have to go through all the settings and make sure its as before, things just didn't feel right and was getting nowhere fast really.

Exciting race even though I'm still not happy with my setup for the Cobra. Losing loads of time in the tight corners especially T1 & the chicane although not too bad for the rest of the lap.

Made up several places in the early laps with a good start & a few people making mistakes & was up to 9th at one point. It all went wrong in the second half of the race with 3 spins which dropped me to 17th, but Ade gifted me a place on the last lap when he spun.

Congrats to Mike, Bonni & Ian

Also big congrats to Ian on clinching the title  :notworthy:  :notworthy:  :notworthy:

................ Best I managed on race fuel in the 911 was a 12.3 this afternoon - great slidey fun although the tyres wore much more at the back, so the 2nd half would have been interesting!

Thanks for the feedback.

I included the 911 so that those who could not face the "brutes" had something to go for.  When I did my car balancing act I was only doing 2:15 in all of the cars and the 911 was my slowest.  I expected that a 911 expert could probably drag it up to the mark so it went in.

Do you think that there was any more to come?  The ones that I saw on track were generating lots of tyre smoke both into and out of the corners. ;D

There was probably a little more there on light fuel, but not quite enough to match the gt40 or cobra on a track with several long straights and not many high speed corners. I don't know how the tyres wore on those 2, but on the 911 I was getting almost twice as much on the back as the front, which would probably be a limiting factor later in the race.

Really struggled to get anywhere near the pace in any of the cars, so chose the IROC as it was most fun for me and gave me a chance of a finish. Quali was disappointing with no clean laps and I missed my PB by about 2.5 secs, putting me near the back of the grid. I don't know what happened at the start, but I was caught in the aftermath which was pretty spectacular and I lost my splitter. Spent most of the race dead last but managed to claw back a few places towards the end.

Appreciate the inclusion of the IROC as I really don't enjoy the other choices. From what I've seen in practice the defecit was 3 to 4 secs a lap. I tried the RSR, being the obvious alternative, but I reckon that could have been a couple of secs too quick in the right hands and being (what I consider to be) an easier drive would have made it a no brainer for many. Difficult choices as ever.

Big congrats to the pody and finishers and hard luck to those who took the early bath.

Are "[VDAB]Bonni" and "[VDA]Bonni" both "bimbo nos"? Just trying to keep the driver mappings correct...
Sorry about that Dave :(
Bonni's profile during his first race here was [VDAB]Bonni, and yesterday was [VDA]Bonni, because I made him change, but after this race he will use only [VDA]Bonni profile.
Look to the results, I don't see the related forum name for [VDA]Isacchini. As I wrote yesterday, his nick on forum is Lalethor, maybe you had missed it in my previous post. Thank you :)
Cu soon!

Congrats to Ian for the championship victory! Well deserved and earned.

I was surprised at my result from yesterday's race considering I didn't practice till just before the race. I popped in the server an extra 45 min with Madd-Rip to get started. Luckily, I had setups for all cars so it was down to testing each and bit of tweaking. I ended up with the GT40 MkII because it had the legs over the Cobra down the long straights. The cornering wasn't as good as the Cobra, nor were the brakes, but I felt I could manage them.

It was very difficult to get everything out of the car because it is so difficult to drive. I threw down a 2:09.9 in quali and thought I was in good shape. Then [VDA]Isacchini blistered by time by close to .4 seconds. The time may have been in the car, but I wasn't going to find it last night. Did anyone else feel the quali session had less grip than the practice session?

Having never raced with [VDA]Isacchini, I didn't know what his standing start skills were like. Usually I can get people off the line. (Ian is now a barn burner in the start department). [VDA]Isacchini was quick, but for some reason, the pole sitter starts on the outside just ahead of 2nd place. It wasn't enough of a space and we entered turn 1 side by side. I was sliding the rear, but since I had the inside, he had to let me through. He used the cornering advantage in the Cobra to make a brilliant pass early on, but I later used the top speed advantage to steal it back on the main straight, having to back in the GT40 into turn 1 superbike style to make it stick. On the 3rd lap, [VDA]Isacchini had a slight bobble over the curbing dropping him back. I fully expected him to come back and continue to threaten me, but maybe he fell off again or was unable to get through others? Once clear, I managed the gap.

Like others said, I experienced serious rear tire wear. I was slipping and sliding the last few laps.

@MIke: simply I was too aggressive and not concentrated enough, this is why so many of my mistakes..
the Cobra is the great car but she ask drive "quiet"
I'm sorry because with more training in this track I could make you victory most difficult
only consolation for me is the pole, again congratulations for the victory

at the next time  :)

Watched the replay and Oily crashed into the stalled car of Paul. Oily flew sideways into my car and my Cobra bounced of the barriers in the middle of the track right on front of the rest of the field. Oilseal, teamie Tim and you could not avoid me....

In hindsight I should have used my brakes to prevent my car from bouncing back onto the track. Humble apologies to Oilseal, Tim and you for ruining your race  :-[

(..) and hard luck to those who took the early bath.
Tnx (I guess..)

One of those days to forget, and I mean day. All damn day went wrong and full of issues.
I will make a report for the race incident API. Many apologies.  :(

No problem, PR. :)
That just made my race interesting and I had some great racing when climbing back to my original position. ;D

No worries here Alex. One of those incidents where no-one was to blame IMHO.

Fun race. :)

I love the track and enjoyed fighting with (getting in the way of) a few drivers as they got into trouble. They all seemed to leave me standing after a while though. ::)

Well done Podiums. Go Team Psuedo. 8) Which would be me and Matt then. I guess I should say 'go Matt' then. ;D
