Title: UKGTL Season 10 Great German Touring Challenge - Leipzig - Jun 21
Post by: Wiltshire Tony on May 03, 2010, 03:58:35 PM +0100
In case you have been away from GTL, there have been GTL lobby problems. But.... it's all fixed now!

This is what you do to connect to the server:

1) Download & run this HOSTS HACK (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=3358.msg54518#post_hostshack)
2) Start GTL & select to the lobby
3) Register a new lobby account (I suggest the same name but with a blank email & password)
4) Log in with your new account & you should see a list of servers

:euro:

If this fix has not worked for you, then please check out this thread for more info/questions: https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6869.msg119486#msg119486

But most importantly, do not suffer in silence (also, don't leave it till the Monday night ;)).

Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: 2x
Fuel consumption: 2x

Server: UKGTL GGTC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R;group=257;theme=5)
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

If you intend to race please download both skinpacks and install the BMW 320i even if you don't intend to drive it.

Sorry Tony, cock-up on my part.  ::)

With visitors taking up practice time, I setup the wrong car for the wrong track.  (Will be OK next week.) It's my age y'no  :wheelchair:  Haven't got time to sort out track and practice.  Have a good night's racing folks.  ;D

Don't let it happen again Bill, or your on a charge.

My race was terminated by a mystery impact on a turn and my wheel came off! Can't wait to watch the replay as I have absolutely no idea what happened.

Having watched the replay (528) I now see what the object was  :o and see what it did to my lovely car!

My return to UKGTL races and to my CSL.  ;D

It's like you've never been gone ::)  ;D

Missed out on pole by 0.1 to the flying Navin. Was very concious of getting off the grid without spinning and lost a couple of places to Ade and err....oh that fella from Portugal  :D  Couldn't match my quali pace for fear of binning it, so had a nice steady (but lonely) drive to the flag.

Congrats to Paulo, Ade and all those who finished and hard luck those who didn't.

That might have been me...spun it on the exit of T2 and ended up facing the wrong way, then spun it onto the grass on the opposite side of the track. Sorry if it was. :-[

First off a big congrats to Paulo for a well deserved win. ;D Ade and Goldtop for solid podiums finishes as well. ;) My fate wasn't so great as I caught a curb edge on the right rear exiting of the second chicane. Send me totally out of control backend into the barrier. Which sent my right rear wheel flying. So that was that for me :P I had a great time chasing Paulo who was driving some very sharp laps. So much fun having the 2 different Bimmers going at it. Paulo was super fast in some areas and I in others. I just wish I didn't screw up so early. :-[ Good fun anyways..

Can't remember who it was Tibs, but it was T2. Totally my fault though, there was plenty of time to take avoiding action, I just got on the power again too early, lost control & fishtailed into a lamppost  ::)

This is an easy track, but in fact, it is so easy that is really easy to make a mistake because as much as we get the confidence of driving fast, we are more and more near to a lamp post or those slipery curbs and there we go...
All went well and I'm happy with my return after 15 days without touching a computer (OH MY GOD)!  :o
First laps were great untill Navin's unlucky moment. It's great to race under pressure and feel that the driver behind, knows what he is doing. Nice driving again Navin.
Congrats to ADE and Goldtop. Nice race for Phil and his 911. Well done to all finishers.

Cheers

No Sir!  :tank: Problem is as soon as one lot of visitors have gone and we've cleared up, another is lined up to visit.  Expecting No 2 grandson late tonight in his new toy - a 2003 Focus RS.  8) When I told him to be carefull and watch out for cameras (Wiltshire is terrible for their vans on the motor way bridges) he reminded me   :smartass:  of my younger days with my "Poor man's M3" and A210 Evo.  :ban:

After I hit my mystery object I watched your battle perched on Navins bonnet, guess that's what slowed him down. Awesome skills displayed from both drivers and thoroughly entertaining.
