(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/), 2.1 patch from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/) and enable terrain patch.
(4) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=227)
(5) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of every-one's connection will be reduced.
(6) P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function. You may go as fast as you like in the pits, but please exercise caution. Penalties will be handed out for causing contact in the pit lane. Use your best judgement when making your pitstop during the race.

Beeing an alfanatic, I feel obliged to do well in the Alfa. I have driven the street version off this car several times, and I used to be the proud owner off a 2000 berlina from 72'. ( the last model before FIAT took over ). Not many people in Denmark knew this car, so I smoked many a BMW2002 ti and some Ecsort RS2000's. The drummer form the band I used to play with bought him self a sidepiped, great sounding Mustang 321" only to find out, he got smoked too :D,.... so he had the mustang 'empowered' to get even, and he did. Naturally I just HAD to get me a couple off new camshifts and and new airfilter. I also removed the spare wheel and even the passenger seats  :o    .... ....... then he went and sold the Mustang

So I say to all you good men off Power and Glory, that this is heart-blood for old Hotkeys  ;D ;D

However, a simulation-game has very little to do with reallife, redlight racing ( for starters it's SOOOO much cheaper ) so I'll ask for all the help I can posiibly get.

Does anybody have a good setup for the Alfa GTA i wonder ?
It doen't necessarily have to be from Donnington, and any setup will be appreciated. Here's my own attemt with which i manged a 1.25.800. : http://www.filefront.com/16594489/Alfa%20GTA%20test%201.svm

Stig If you're doing 1:25.8s already, I don't think anyone here will be giving you setups  ;) ;D

Nice to hear your tales of real life Alfatestism (is that a real word or did I just invent it :D)

Not tried Alfa yet.I am only a couple of tenths quicker in the Tina Mann than the TR4 which I love to bits
and was quicker in TR4 at the  St Jovites than I was with proper GTA. So may user the old bedstead and
run near the back. Can't remember what times I was getting but they were a couple of seconds shy of 25's

Yesterday I gived a try with the Abarth gr5, and I've to say that is really funny around Doni National!!! With a bit of training me, Pippomox and another italian guy arrived at 1.26.4 in quali setup, but even with full tank laptimes are so close to this after some laps to warm the tires and lighten the car.
For me it's surely impossible to arrive at a 1.25.xxx with the Abarth, and I think that would be difficult even for some alien to brake trough the 1.26. barrier. However this little monster got a low tires wear, and it will be maybe adavtaged for the pit strategy... We will see tomorrow...
Cu :)

Sorry Mike but I won't be doing this'un. Never really like Donny and I'm racing 1970 Prototypes at Watkins Glen GP Friday night with the GTLDK boys (shameless plug) so I need to get some praccy in for that.

EDIT: If there's room I think I might try to take part after all. Have to get some fast praccy in though.

Hi, guys. I haven't been here for a while, but I was told that you are now running P&G2 events. Would it be OK for me to race with you tonight at Donington National? If so, just let me know which cars I would be able to drive. I was thinking about the Lotus Cortina Mann.....

EDIT: Ah, I see that first time drivers are restricted to the Yellow Group. That being the case, I would probably go for the Mini Cooper 1275S.

Mogget. We'd be pleased to have you. The race tonight should be a barn burner. New racers to the series must use any car from the Yellow group.

Thanks, Mike. I think it was Manteos who suggested that I race with you. He competes with myself and others in the P&G2 World Sprint League over at Gamers Crib (selected Tuesday nights). If any of you guys are interested in that, then feel free to join us. Details can be found in the P&G2 World Sprint League Schedule thread over at Gamers Crib  :)

Mike,

I am having problems joining the server. I keep getting a CTD when the track starts to load. Do you guys use the version 2.1 update and Terrain Patch?

not sure. it is a stock track. do you have modified gdb file for donnington? do you have copy of donnington in another copy of gtr2 possibly? try to join with a different car too.

CTD occurs immediately. I catch the briefest glimpse of the track map, and then I'm at the desktop.

If I remove the "MASFile=GTR2logos.gtr" line in the TRK file, I can get it to load, but then I get booted as a possible cheat. Should there be a GTR2logos.gtr file in the SHARED folder?

EDIT: It seems that the GTR2logos.gtr file had disappeared from my SHARED folder. Someone has kindly sent me a copy, but it was too late to race with you guys  :(

Really should not have bothered. After re-installing P&G all my settings were screwed and xd was telling me I was using 25litres every lap. In a fuel critical race that's not good.
Note to self: avoid Donington, it only ever brings woe.

Damm fine race. Was a couple of tenths faster in Tina, and a good half second quicker in Alfa Junior, but any excuse
to drive the TR4 will do, so took him. Good to see Marco and PR also opted for some quality Midlands metal  ;D

Cracking race tonight. I was in the midst of a battle every lap. Early on it was primarily Paulo and Isacchini. Lap 13, Pepe made a brilliant outside pass at McCleans. After a quick service, it was Marco and Matt. I was a bit off pace tonight, but a strong pitstop and persistence to keep it on the black stuff pushed me up the order to a good finish.

I started 15th of 20; unfamiliar territory for me. My lack of practice yielded lack of pace. Now that I'm back from vacation I'll be better prepared for upcoming races. I was pleased to see respectful driving from all in the early laps. I think I got into the side of an Abarth in the middle of Coppice as the rear of my Mini slid sideways. I'll have to review the replay to see exactly what happened there.

Early battles with the TVR proved the car choice for those in the Yellow group may depend on track. The TVR doesn't turn as well as the Mini, but it sure does get up and go down the straight. It was interesting to see the strengths and weakness of each car. The Alfa is a great all around performer.

Where the Mini lacks pace, it makes up in pit time as it sips fuel. I came out of the pits 5th, but was quickly hunted down by Marco and Matt. Marco. Marco read the traffic beautifully into turn 1 and made a fantastic pass. Late in the race, Ayrton was closing fast and certainly would have taken the position, but a few mistakes prevented him from getting past.

Isachini got the worst deal a few times as he tried to stay on the outside several time in the 1st lap or so.
What's this TVR you weere watching Mike? didn't see any Blackpool built cars on the track  ::)

You might want to use the UKGTR version of the track, Mike. There would be much less pushing others off the track through chicanes liberty when taking lines through chicanes. :(
Was going for fun, really. But I was too slow with the Abarth and Alfa didn't really get me going.

Sorry about that Goldtop. Is the second time he race here, and his name in forum is "Lalethor".

I went out to drink a beer after the race... considering that at the moment I'm a bit drunk, it's better if I comment my race tomorrow  ;D ;D

I'm disappointed to read about Mogget troubles, but I didn't read at all the forum yesterday, and when I realized you had some troubles... it was simply late to solve it... However I hope to see you for the next, and that some UKP&G guys will add to your GC events.

Thx even to Mike for his kind words to me. I appreciated it so much.
OOOOps... It's too late guys.  Good night! CU soon!

I'll hopefully be better prepared next time, Manteos. It was a spur of the moment decision to try and race with you guys, and I wasn't expecting problems with a default track! I would have enjoyed driving the Mini Cooper 1275S at Donington National with such a large grid. Mind you, I would probably have struggled to finish such a long race after my recent back problems, but I'm sure that it would have been exciting while it lasted  :)

Nice and enjoyable race always battling, mainly with Mike's Mini. Then, I went to pits to add fuel and the second half of the race was quite boring, even if it was my guilty. When I went to pits, I stoped the car and kept looking to the guy in front...and nothing...I just forgot that GTR needs to turn off the engine to put fuel.  ::) So, I lost the opportunity to keep fighting with Mike, Pepe and Isacchini.  :P
Second stint was all with no car in sight, unfortunately. Nevertheless, an enjoyable event.  :)

Congrats to Manteos and podium and well done to all finishers.
Congrats also for the guys who drove the TR4 and finished in front, well done.

I will miss a few races now, see you when I come back from my trip (I will miss the beggining of both seasons)  ::)

Cheers

Enjoyed the Alfa Jr around here and was able to secure P2 in quali. Got off the line well but someone tried to pass me around the outside of Redgate and the resulting contact left them on the grass. I slowed considering a wait, but figured there was not much I could have done to avoid it. By the time I came out of Old Hairpin I was in 7th  >:(

A few laps in I started to struggle with oversteer as my tyre pressures seemed to go a bit off through pushing too much and I fell off a few times. The car was much better after I'd pitted even though I didn't change the tyres ??? . I tried to close the gap to Geoffers but was being caught by Marco in the closing laps. I just about managed to hold on to 4th with Marco just a couple of inches behind me at the line.

Congrats to Manteos for a well deserved win in his Abarth and to API and Geoffers for 2nd and 3rd  8)

Not a bad race, even though I'm not a big fan of Donington.

Qualified 6th & got a fair start & got up to 4th with a few people taking to the grass at Redgate. Then had a great fight with Goldtop & API for many laps until Goldtop made a couple of mistakes & dropped back. API & I continued the battle up until the pitstops & even managed to catch up with Manteos.  :o

After the stops were done I was in a lonely 3rd place around 7s behind API. I was gaining on him very slowly, but was never going to catch him unless he made a mistake, so had to settle for the bottom step of the podium. Pleased with that though  ;D

Congrats to Manteos & API.

I'm away for next week's race so cya all in a fortnight.

Started 11th and finished 11th, but in between I made a lot of mistakes. I completely missed the start and ended somewhere at the end of the field. After around 20 laps I pitted and was sitting there, wondering
why the mechanics didn't do anythig about the car until much later I remebered to switch off the engine ??? Pitstop was therefore more than 3 minutes and I was lapped by the race leaders soon afterwards.
I was busy to get back on track and almost rammed goldtop when I rejoined the race. Apologies for that.

The rest of the race was quite uneventful which allowed me to try different lines etc. especially when the tyres were worn.

No problem Eddie; It's a tricky pit exit. Don't know if you use the driver tabs, but with these on and a backward view button assigned it just gives a bit more warning of approaching traffic which helps me a lot on these difficult rejoins.

Not sure what was going on there,  I was well off the pace and not obvious as to why.  Think my son may have been messing with some settings!  Still did a few laps and packed up before becoming a mobile chicane!  Sorry about the 'Hi' in chat at the end of qualifying, pressed the wrong button when I was trying to change my driving view!

Still have this annoying sign in problem having to re-register every day.

Hope to make it to another race soon.

Hi all.

I'm come back. My last race with you was in the UkPnG season1 "token".
At the start I had a mistake with the clutch and... "jump start".
At the end of first lap, I come to pit-lane but I brake too late... grrrrr I'm forced to a second pit.

At the third lap in the standing I was the last driver.
Despite this, my pace was good and the lateness from the other drivers decrease.

After the pit(for the fuel) I was 9th, but one driver have some trouble and exit from the race.
In the last laps, fantastic battle with Mike for the 7th position but he resists and I end in 8th position.

Yesterday the race was very funny!!!
Congratulations to podium and my 'virtual brother' Manteos.
Sorry to M.Miller because in our fantastic battle I caused 2 little accidents between our cars.

See you to the next race
