I'm not 100% certain on tonight either - my folks leave on a 3 month Euro road trip tomorrow so I'm going to the pub with them tonight for a meal.
Hope to make it as Monaco (should have been Monacane for the 66's ;) ) should be fun in these  ;D

I think the award for most spectacular warp contact result for the decade goes to Fulvio and his rocket propelled Ferrari. With a contact speed of about 5kph at the fianl hairpin, to achieve Mach 2 with no wheels and travel almost the length of the start/finish straight was truly impressive   :o.......but no doubt a blow for Fulvio at the time. ::) :-\ This has to be seen ;D

A small turnout for this Monaco race which was a shame.  A place where the chassis handicap system is not such a big deal IMHO, provided that you have a very stable and drivable setup.
I was planning to use the Lotus Climax on the basis that is is the lighter and perhaps more responsive of the Group 1 cars and I had done some off line laps with it over the weekend.
But, with only 2 hrs to go before the race start last night, I felt that maybe I ought to at least try the Eaglet and immediately knocked half a second of my lap times, so that decided that!! :o
A few more adjustments to the gear ratios to avoid over revving during Quali and I was feeling that I was in with a possible chance of a podium, if I could hold onto the BT11's.
The small grid afforded a lot of clear track in qualifying and I managed more uninterrupted fast laps than I think I have ever had before in an online race, which must have helped me to a surprising pole position.
I knew that I might be vulnerable at the start with the BT11's swarming behind me and was determined to try and hold the lead ( which is always an advantage at Monaco  ;) ) through St Devote and then concentrate on holding the racing line and defending for the next 30 laps.
It seems that I had a few tenths pure speed advantage over the chasing pack, whether that was because they were fighting each other or not I don't know, but I gradually eased away until I had a 10 second gap. From then on I was in engine protection and safe driving mode , listening for the death rattles in the engine and being very careful not to hit the walls.
I was able to maintain the gap comfortably and the last 1/3rd of the race was a battle against the heat, the sweat and lack of concentration...in fact, quite like Monaco in real life I guess....(well I can dream can't I ??? ::)

Grats to all those who finished and hard luck to Steve who lost his engine a few laps from the finish.

That was very close to the most realistic F1 race I have been in! No overtaking  :P  ;D

I managed to secure a top 10 start off the grid.........OK OK there was only 7 of us! We all followed in formation for the first lap.  Syd having not done a Q lap started at the back and I was expecting an overtake soon after the start, but then I saw his car spin as we got to the braking zone for the final turn of the lap.

I managed to follow Tom for a short while but found him brushing the bales at the hairpin a few laps in so held a tight line just as he was recovering.  Knowing Tom was faster, and being a teamy I didn't even try to challenge the position and again, fell in behind.  The brush with the bales seemed to have an affect on Tom as he promptly seemed to find better pace and pulled away.

I then made a couple of minor errors and the gap grew until I was completely on my own for most of the race.

Fulvio's incident promoted me 5th and my aim then was to try and keep enough pace to not be lapped by Evil.  I seemed to be doing ok with that.  However, with 4 laps to go the engine spewed smoke and lost most of its power, a shame as I felt comfortable and my style is not to high rev engines so not sure why it gave up.  I tried continuing but after a few hundred yards knew it was pointless to carry on so crossed the line for the last time to complete 1 last lap and pulled into the pits for an early bath.

WD to the podium and all finishers. Commiserations to Fulvio who it seems fell victim to some random warp.

Gutted to have missed this - As iGOR fired up I spied 30laps to go and realised I'd missed getting in by all of about 30 seconds  :'(

I was also gutted to miss this one, as I had even found some time to practice but had to miss because of connection problems  :(  (appears to have been a faulty network cable, although haven't ruled out Wazza foul play!!! )

Congrats to Clive, Al and Goran and hope to see you all at Rouen..

Most of the race I was just following Al, hoping for a mistake that never came. So I started 3rd and finished 3rd, behind Al and Clive.

But at the beginning of lap 2 I lost everybody and it all went red in the L, Q and S meters. The server, or was is me. went totally crazy, so I slowed down and all of a sudden when I got to the casino Al appeared a few meters ahead of me. I wonder what would have happend if I had stayed on the pace, maybe that was my chance to overtake that I did not take.

Well, after that all came back it was a follow the leader kind of race, as Steve said, no overtaking at all. Except for Fulvio that is, he did kind of overtake me but it did not last more than the most of the start and finish strait. But without wheels and most of the car it was well done, although I don`t know if rockets are allowed in GPL   :ban: ;D

Anyway the outcome for me was OK except for the fact that, for the Rouen race it seems like I will be restricted to a group 1 car.   :o

How could Dave accuse the Wazas of employing such underhand methods!!  We have never actually been caught  ::) doing any of the things we have been accused of.
Just because Hristo is unable to race because he is moving to a new apartment and Jethro has trashed his wheel and pedals, to suggest that I would send Jinja the ninja mouse to chew through an internet cable is ................................ a good idea ;D

Not much to report from me. Qualified in 2nd... finished 2nd. Clive was able to pull away after the start & after that I had Goran & Fulvio behind me for most of the race. Goran was always very close behind so I just tried not to make any mistakes which was pretty tough round here. I sensed the pressure was beginning to build towards the end but then Fulvio had his bizarre low speed rocket launch & that gave me enough breathing space to get to the finish. Congrats to Clive, Goran and errr everyone that turned up.

Halfway stage in the Statmeister competition & King Hiro maintains his lead at the top of the consistency table, while Steve Bird & Phil Thornton head the high climbers. King Hiro also leads the Finishing-Meister table tied with Al Heller, both drivers finishing 5 out of 5 races.

A perfect consistency score for Monaco would have been 150.
