Hmm not a fan of Estoril (well, not in a 550 anyway!) and with GTL out I've not practiced here atall  :(  Should make for an interesting race!

First of all I must Apologise to Gerald for bumping his rear and spinnig him around at the chicane  :( Sorry Gerald
And it just went down hill from there....Just didn't get enough praccy in with z3, kept spinning it everywhere and was never really fully in control.
Sorry once again Gerald

Well fastest lap and bloodied some title contending noses but at the end of the day my championship has became a test session a long time ago.

Just need to keep it on track I guess.

Why did I have to stop to pit and other GT cars didnt though? Is the Lambo supposedly quick enough to negate the time lost?

Pretty good consistent race for me, got NGT pole....a first for me :o  in race, only one minor off when i was mirror watching a lapping GT and left my brakes a tad late but only lost a few secs. Was running 7th when i pitted after 35 mins for new tyres....came out a whole whopping lap down on Pops...just for tyres and 25 mins fuel ?? I'm gonna sack the whole sorry crew for that dismal pitstop  >:(  I rejoined about 35 secs behind the nearest car, losing about 6 places on track :'(
Wish i'd stayed on the same worn boots now :'( Gutted.

Still 1st & 3rd for Legends  ;D

Well done Dave on your class championship win  :)

Well i decided to give the Mosler a go, wow what a car!!! once I got used to the handling its a really fun beast to drive ;D

Had a very enjoyable battle with Dave (though I suspect he was going easy on me ;) ) then 8 or 9 laps from the end NOOOOOOO!!! the engine let go :'(, I was sitting there just before the race thinking  "should I reduce the rev limit a tad?? Nah no need" But hey thems the breaks. Congrats to Dave on the season win and Pops on what will surely now be second

Congrats to Dave for winning the biggy and Jon for impressive pace tonight.

I decided to change gearing before race and it didn't prove a very wise decision. I couldn't even get out of fifth on long straights and was resultantly a bit of a sitting duck all race, I even struggled to get past Jams Mosler on the main straight ;D. So considering all I am delighted with 3rd.

Mo not making the start confused the hell out of me and thanks to Greg (I thought you were Mo) for letting me back through.See you all at Monza.

Well considering I wasn't looking forward to that race as I didn't expect to be too competitive due to lack of practice and having trouble keeping it on the track when I did get a chance to practice, I think that was the most enjoyable race I've had all season.

Good 15-20 mins close racing with Zachari to start with for 5th place, with 4th place still in my sights. Until Zac got a better run onto the start/finish straight to pass me, only for me to pass him a few laps later after he span. I then lost him in my mirrors and in trying too make sure I didn't turn into him, I ran wide and he was through and away. Until the latter stages of the race when again passed him after he had spun in the chicane.

Not sure if non-stop strategy would have seen me on the podium though. It was looking good until the 30min mark when a silly spin in the chicane saw me take over 20secs to regain the track - Still better race than last time! Tyres seem to last OK still running at about the same pace at the end, perhaps I need to push harder!

Start was a little weird. Qualified 7th and was placed on the grid in 7th, starting rolling when the cars in front did albeit slowly to allow the 6th place qualify to filter in front of me, only to find I was now 5th. Did someone not make the start?

Until Monza then

A big CONGRATS to Dave on the NGT championship win  ;D

We were going for team points as I had no chance of catching Dave so we decided to play it really safe an pit-in for tyres. When Mark pipped me for pole (nice one Mark!), I decided to change to a no stopper which proved to be the right plan as I suspected Dave didn't need to stop in the Morgan.

We pulled out a pretty good lead when Mark went off. Gutted for you there mate.

Two wins in a row, pity I didn't get it together a bit earlier, might have made the championship go down to the wire  ;)

Great overtaking by the GT's and very courteous back-markers, thanks.

Pops

Well I just couldn't find any rhythm tonight so opted for the slow and steady approach.
It was nice to finish ahead of SBG to keep the chapionship alive for another race, although barring a disaster at Monza its as good as yours now mate.
Still pleased to have completed Estoril without any spins and to get 2nd place.

Well, that was both hard work, and great fun! When I saw there were only 8 NGT starters I knew all I had to do was finish the pace lap and the NGT title was mine - famous last words, I thought but I'd forgotten how Estoril seems to space the formation out a lot and must also thank whoever was behind for not trying to take advantage at the start when he probably could have. 8)

Spent the whole first half of the race trying to pressure Jamera into a mistake. Shark had given me a very stable and unusual setup for the race which meant I was all over him like a bad suit in the slow stuff but unable to make any impression in a straight line. On the few occaisions where I managed to get a solid tow I just didn't have the braking power to get past. Absolutely first rate dice and probably the best battle I've had in GTR ever. ;D ;D ;D

Eventually I got a good enough exit from the final turn and made a do or die attempt up the inside in turn 1, only to run onto the dirt and let Jam back past. A few laps later though the tables were turned and Jam ran in a fraction too deep and was far enough into the kitty litter that I could slip by before he could rejoin. With a little space in front I was able to open up a modest gap of 3 or 4 seconds and concentrate on driving consistently and keeping an eye on traffic.

Having fought to stay ahead of Jam I dropped my concentration for a moment and ran wide out of a left hander, allowing him to close right up again and eventually draft past again.

Had a slightly hairy moment being lapped by Greg who I think tried to go past in the flat out right hand kink and had to back out when he realised I was intending to take the normal line and let him through after the kink. And then an even hairier moment when one of the Ferraris blew its engine ahead coming out of T1 and threw a cloud of thick black smoke out just as a 550 was trying to lap me. Fortunately the lapper was kind enough to back off and gave me room to pull out and go round the smoking car as I couldn't see where I was going!

Anyway, that left Jam some 12-15 seconds ahead so I settled back into a rhythm and was a bit disappointed to see him retired a few laps later. :(

Can't remember what stage of the race it was at but I suspect I caused some confusion for the orange Porsche as I turned my lights on coming up to lap him, only to find a black Lister bearing down on me. I let him past but the Porsche and Lister made some contact in the first turn with the Porsche finding himself in an awkward place to let a car by.

Was pretty relieved when the race ended; my tyres had been showing some signs of wear during the last 15 or 20 minutes, with slight understeer in most corners and a teeny weeny bit of oversteer in the final turn in 4th gear. :o

I've had a rather up and down season and [ZiP]Tyf's exit from the season has probably made it too easy for me. Popabawa's performances have improved beyond all recognition from Season 0 and if the season were 2 rounds longer I think I'd be in serious trouble.

I won't be running at Monza as I'll need to get up very early the following morning to go on holiday so I'll wish you all good luck now. :)

My heart was in my mouth for a split second there Dave, thought I was going to take us both off.

During the quali session some late night visitors came and I had to quit.  :(

I would be glad of the visit at any other time but a GTR race. Hope you had a good time.

Very scrappy race from me, probably a fair reflection of the practice unfortunately :(

Started off well, sat behind Nik, SBG and aajay getting into a steady pace.  Was great racing, aajay was fast through the middle of the lap and the chicane and I was getting a good drive out of the final corner and closing down the straight.  Then I think Nik spun and SBG either past or caught up and all of us were nose-to-tail for a while, ended up getting past aajay after finally keeping up with him going through the middle sector, then squeezed past Nik whilst SBG and Nik were having a door-to-door moment before the back straight.

Passed SBG over the start/finish line (and now I know why!  I wondered why you were struggling down the straight) and managed to pull away a bit until I spun in the chicane.  After that it was all a total mess, I started with an understeering setup to try and cope with the problems I have with the chicane and ended up with 'tyers worn' messages with 7 and 3 laps to go.

Spun 4 or 5 times in the end, all stupidly low speed and not what I'd have expected considering I felt the car was stable in the corner - but I've a feeling the 'increased steering lock at low speed' was causing the problem when I dropped below the 25m/s (about 55mph) it was set to.  I've changed it now to 0 (I'm sure I did that before but must have been overwritten!) so hopefully that'll stop that happening in the future.

Still better racing than I'd expected though, I expected to be miles away from everyone from the start!

Oh and the start was weird too, with mo not making the start aajay thought someone had not passed who should have, so i was sitting there on the grid wondering what to do if he sat there any longer!  Thankfully wasn't a problem, shame that a bug kept mo out though :(

Looking forward to Monza a lot now  :)

Congrats Dave :)

That was more fun in the BMW, it goes quite well round Estoril!  Qualified 12th and moved up to 11th when Mo didn't make the grid.  Had to wait before the line so that I didn't pass Dave at the start as the field had got very spread out.  Had a ringside seat for the big fight between Jamera and Dave as I could keep up with them quite well whilst they were battling :)

Then had a couple of spins at the 2nd-3rd gear left hander and one half-spin at the chicane on my non-stop way to the end, picking up 1 more place when Jameras engine blew to come home 10th :D

It gets interesting when you try and lap an NGT car with the BMW ;D

I wondered at the time if you were hanging back and admiring the view - I was quite concious of you being there and concerned that if I didn't find a way to clear Jam and make a break for it I was going to end up defending from a G3 car instead of fighting for NGT points. :D

It was surprising how difficult it was to hold Dave for that long. I managed to identify the danger spots quite quickly, but in order to defend them I had to adapt my line and driving style dramaticly which affected my lap times. In hindsight I should have supported Dave's passing attempts in the hope he would catch Pops and maybe force an error from him, thus keeping my hopes of a second place alive ;D. Also maybe then the engine on the Mosler (LUUUUUURVVVV that car!!!!!!) may have held out. I think the Mosler may become a feature of the NGT sprints for me ;D

Anyway once again Dave congrats, that was such a good battle, can't wait to have a look at the replay

Well not a bad qual, I'd been playing with the BMW and got a 1:45 high in practice, then switchet to the porsche to see how that went, the porsche was very stable out of corners, unlike the beamer, but was about a second a lap slower. I should have stuck to my original plans and stayed with the porsche cuz I knew I would be spinning the beamer, but saw the times Jon and Mike posted and thought best go with the BMW (very bad decision No1.).  To make matters worse, i somehow managed to get my qual set up in race with a full tank of gas, the tyres would be fine if I didnt spin and that where bad mistakes Nos' 2 to 6 came into play, got to the stage where I was loosing the rear on any corner I tried to accelerate out of (all of them) which made me a mobile hazard so I decided to quit and take the lessons home with me. Congrats Dave on NGT championship win, well done mate.

Hi All thanks jonm for letting me know I thought you were close but I assumed I had spun . Anyway I must have rooted the tyres after that as it spun whenever I tried to make up time . Sorry to the lambo I spun in front of , I think I must have had some damage from the first spin as I could get nowhere near my quali time set on my race set up. No blame to anyone I think as Estoril is not an easy track in my opinion. cheers bye for now.gerald
