A couple of notes re. Blue Flags during qualifying and race where they differ from GTR2;

Blue Flags during qualifying - if you see a blue flag during qualifying it will be on your outlap and the driver approaching is on a hotlap. Please take this into account and act accordingly. The driver behind does not know you are on an outlap so no rash moves out of the way please  Usual SRouk rules / guidelines should be applied.

Blue Flags during the race -  if you see a blue flag during the race it means the driver approaching is about to lap you. Please take this into account and act accordingly. It differs from GTR2 in that you will not be penalised for not allowing the lapping driver to pass within a certain period. The flag is informational only. Usual SRouk rules / guidelines should be applied.

Not to mention the Late Model depicted looks suspiciously like an Impala... :D

Setup for this track available from the Team Shark garage...

Ahh well this is at least the short version so there's still hope :)

My best at the moment is low 1:03, I have a feeling there's a lot more in it!

Gaaah. This starts the week I go on a Friday to Friday holiday, missing at least the first one and potentially the other one too as it will depend on when I return.

Have fun and hope to join in when I'm back.

No worries Simon, there'll be plenty more Late Model action don't worry ;)

The plan is to do these two events which will take us up to Week 13, when I think Pops also has a fun event planned. I'll skip that one as I think it'll be overkill otherwise and continue as normal the week after that.

I'm prepared for it being one of those series that people will dip in and out of given it's a Friday night but hopefully we'll still get the numbers to have plenty of fun!

8)

I'm too "old" and grumpy to go out partying on a Friday, so it's usually a free night for me.

P.S. Like the signature.  ;)

Can we just check whether the times are correct, i.e. did you mean
  P 19:00 BST
  Q 22:10 BST
  R 22:20 BST
as it occurs to me that a lot of people use GMT to mean "UK time", which it isn't during the summer...

I'm hoping the intention was BST as 22:20 is getting a bit late to start a race for little old me.

Ah nice once for pointing that out Dave, the intention was definitely BST - I'll amend the flyers accordingly this evening!

Really looking forward to stretching my iRacing legs (the limbs not my esteemed Oldie colleague  ;D) having missed the Mazda race this week. How we doing on laps - anyone put any practice in yet?

I'm afraid you'll have to count me out on these. Timezone's screw this up for me :(
Have fun.

Yeah of course Gaz, more the merrier mate - should make for some entertaining viewing around such a short track. We'll be on TS too so come and harrass an Oldie or two if you feel the urge.

You got long 'til you're back in the seat?

And as it's officially the start of the weekend, it would be rude not to have a few beers while driving ;D

Enjoyed that, apart from the two moments where my driving led to light contact with Oily/Ade :-[

Tough non-stop action track that, would like to see it again.

Good turn out for the 1st race, look forward to next week where hopefully I'll perform a little better.

Sorry think they took my brain out in the op, i dont have the car or the track so couldnt watch  ::)

I went for a brain scan once, but they didn't find anything. *boom boom*

Enjoyed that, even if I didn't really deserve to win.

I popped out just before Q to see if anyone was in Team Speak, but my PC crashed on exit (yet again >:( ) so I lost the time I expected to use adjusting the ride height for qually. Not really sure what setup I used in Q - suspect it was my Indy Road one! - but Adam Miles failed to reproduce his 1:00.0 from practice and it came down to two last gasp laps, James Barrington (one of my ORO sparring partners) getting pole in the dying seconds followed after a couple of seconds by me snatching it back by a tenth of a second, despite accidently running into Paul Menard on the lap before after I underestimated my closing speed up the hill. :-[

Got away well and the car felt good for the first 9 or 10 laps, and I was able to keep a small gap to James and Adam behind. Then something happened to the balance of the car and I really stuggled for about 10 laps, which let James past and put Adam right on my tail. My tyres started to come back around lap 20 and something happened to James (probably a cut warning) that dropped him back. Adam's car was now an ever-present threat and only a cut track flag for him gave me temporary respite.

The laps counted down and I was clinging on by the skin of my teeth. Coming out of the final corner on the penultimate lap there was a three car pile up in progress on the start line and I had to slow and then defend into T1, but the rest of the lap went smoothly and I clung on to take the win. ;D

Glad it all went well.

I joined praccy briefly, but not really having driven this car on the road very much, it was always going to be an uphill struggle.  I decided my time would be better spent elsewhere - but I'll definately be making next weeks race.

My race went pear shaped at the bottom of the hill on lap 1 when I got nudged round by Jari after he ran wide. Looks like a combination of him getting a slight wiggle on, a bit of warp and possibly me not leaving as much room as I could, so just one of those things I think. Had fun chasing back towards the front, but the steering was bent and made it really tough to push in some places. In the end I ran wide at T1 and lost most if not all of the time I had gained, so I had to do it all again. By the end I was right behind Michael Japp but didn't have enough time to get past.

Grats to Dave on a great win & thx to Oily for setting things up. I can't see me being much of a threat with races so late on a Friday though - too much time beforehand to have a couple of beers  :whistling:

Really enjoyed last night's race even after been put off the track in T1  :nono:

However the LM seems a solid steed and even after a few offs later on all of my own doing was still running at the end ;) Had a few battles on the way but I enjoy driving the LM so much it was just fun to be there.

Must apologise to Dave, James and Adam. Well dodged as I did a 360 spin at the long right hander at the far end of the circuit. I struggled more at that corner than any other with the back coming around on me unexpectedly. Sometimes it's planted through there other times it's like someone has halved the grip at the back.

Not looking forward so much for next week's race. I suck at the cars and don't have any pace at the track so expect to be a good 5 secs off the aliens pace.

First time in the late model I was hopeless, around 5 secs off pace and once or twice per lap off track.
Even though Gizmo's (gongrats on the win) setup helped a lot there was not enough time to improve my driving. I therefore decided to leave the race.
Looking forward to next friday because I know the track and like the Spec Racer ;D and thanks to Oily for setting
this up.

Hi guys,
apologies if i caused any trouble. I was still trying to get to grips with my new G27 and i have not driven the LM in ages.... Overall i was fairly ok with my qualy at 1:01.6, i had the tank half full as it seemed like the car was stabler that way. I just could not get the feel for it although i did think i had more speed in me....

Then race started and i had a great start. I was watching Paul fight with someone else (i think it was Jari) and then at the back straight they were side by side... so i took the corner slower expecting a bit of a tussle... i tussle there was... .so i tried to avoid Paul by going wide off the left on the second part, only to be collected into the gravel and pretty much last....

I then started to fight my way back up but the combination of a slightly bent car with lack of familiarity with my G27 meant that i could not put safe laps together... as i was about to be lapped i lost it on T1 and decided to park before i ruined someone's race....

Look forward to another event! i am going to be in paris friday but i will keep my ears on the ground on the lookout for more racing!

Cheers
Fabs

Nice one Fabs, really glad you could make it - we've got a week gap after this Friday (next race will be 6th August) but there's a Riley race tomorrow at Brands in the main championship series if you're up for it?

In case you hadn't clocked it already - to see what other events are forthcoming just check out the lists in the top right of the screen..
