This race will be run using the UKGTL Skin Pack 1.8.0.0 (http://www.humyo.com/9240347/SimRacing.org.uk/UKGTL/Cars/SRou_UKGTL_Skins_1.8.0.0.exe) which will need to be installed prior to racing.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: "www.simracing.org.uk"
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=265&theme=5)
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

Love this track, bit puzzled at the lap records, particularly the Mini ???
They're obviously both very good drivers, but I can't get near that mini time in my E-Type :'(

Funny you should say that i am faster in a Mini than with the E Type , though i know this track well i find the E Type rather squirmy round the mountain  and approach .

I am waaay of the pace shown in those lap records (in e type). Like 10 seconds off, which is more than usually.

The first version of Cadwell that came out had higher grip levels than the current one which may explain the record laptimes. But as you say Legzy they are both really quick drivers so, on the other hand, it may not!

My best time in the E-type is 1.37.1 & I can get into the 1.35s with the Mini!

and I've killed my Logitech G25 wheel too, so I won't be racing tonight  >:(

Everything works except the round steery thing.

What's a good wheel and pedal set to get right now?

Sorry I couldn't start the race guys. I got called back to work. The race with Navin and API was shaping up to be a good one based on the practice and quali times. Loved the track Tony!

Well, that was some race for me. I expected to be at the back the whole race, as I hadn't broken 1.40 in my limited practice time. But found a little bit of speed and did 1.38.9 in q to start 11th. Then on the opening couple of laps some fast people fell behind me,  and I found myself around 6th or 7th. What followed was incredible. I had 2 cars on my tale for the next 15 laps. It took all my concentration to keep them behind, as they kept darting on both sides of my car, but not managing to pass. I had to be really perfect as they were some 2-3 seconds a lap faster (track design with no real overtaking places helped too).In the end Sly passed me with a really great manoeuvre after the the downhill chicane. You went through there perfectly and passed me like I wasn't there, even though I kept my usual racing line and didn't ease off. Even after that I had a couple of jaguars still trying to pass me, but I think they made mistakes and fell a bit behind. Towards the end I had to hold of Phil Gilliland, and just managed it, to finish in 6th. Even though it was my lowest finish of the season, this feels like my best race, just because of the fights :).

Using all my intelligence I managed to establish that the power cord was parting company with the adapter. Now fixed.

Whilst concentrating on my steering wheel and it's various settings I sat on the the grid and for the 2nd time this series failed to engage brain 1st gear. Sorry to whoever it was behind me.

Don't know how Ade manages to get that Healey to go so fast but he seemed to be keeping Legzy honest for the whole race.

Bill and I had our usual comedy of errors but highly enjoyable for all that. This week I came out on top.

i didn't really have a clue about the relative strength of the available cars, but the elan being reserved to newcomers i was expecting it to be a bit better and easier to driver, so i choose that one, but honestly i didnt know it was that much faster hehe otherwise i would have gone with a jaguar

after skipping the quali for obvious reason, i found myself in a big battle mainly with drake and sqter, we passed each other a few times in close maneuvers but all in great fairness, very exciting ...  :P

once i could pass and take full advantage of my fastest car i tried to make up time, could pass goeffers when he crashed out and then was trying hard to close the huge gap i had to the first 4 guys, but 2 huge mistakes (all alone) left me pretty much all alone on track  :o

i enjoyed racing with you guys, see you next week in a jaguar so i will be at my right slot (mid-packer hihi)  8)

congrats to the podium guys and everyone else participating

It was a cracker Syd and you drove a blinder. I gave it all I'd got in the last few laps but you didn't crack under pressure - well done, great race.

First things first...

Mike - sorry you had to go, but unfortunately work does come first :-\

SpecialKS aka Eifelblitz - That really sucks man :(... I think my OS is getting unstable so maybe I should do myself a favor and do a redo before I loose anything..

Tony - Good you got the G25 fixed ;D. Hope it stays that way.. I'm on my second G25 after 9 years with the same old school Logitech formula force wheel(not the crappy later versions) that was simply bulletproof.. Hope it stays working ;)

Race report - Wow what a close race.. I'm pretty sure API was a bit quicker than me and if he was in front at the beginning he would of simply drove away. But because API is a gentleman driver ;) I was just barely able to stay in front for the race :). Good stuff API ;)
What a lovely track this one is.. I have to say the early British track builders really knew what they were doing. Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Crystal Palace, Aintree and of course Cadwell Park. Like Mike was talking about in practice... Has it all.. Elevation change, on and off camber stuff, some good fast corners and some very technical slow stuff. There are some exception's but I personally feel a good track must have all of the above to truly be a great track.. ;D No modern Hockenheim type tracks for for me :P It's just a glorified Karting track now :'(

Congrats to API for a well fought 2nd place and grats as well to Legzy for a solid podium for 3rd ;)
