question repeated as it says 2L in the race announcement!!  :P

Variant = 66F1,  2L engines

Although I suspect it is 3L as per registration thread.  (suspect Typo)

Yes Steve is right, it was a typo it should be 3L as in registration thread (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=7576.0).  Five 3L races and five 2L races.  Announcement amended.

Congrats Hristo on the title.
I have to apologize to Goran. I was following very close going into T1 on lap 3, couldn't see my braking point and missed it  When I realized I was going to hit you, I tried to pull to the left and throw it into scenery, but it was too  late, and we had a crash. I was actually surprised to see my car in one peace after that. It even seemed like it suffered no serious damage, as I was able to drive the rest of the race.

Grats to Hristo on the title and commiserations to Tim on losing out at the final hurdle.

Coming into this race my best hope ( frankly my only hope!!  ::) ) was to win with Hrsito 2nd and Tim 3rd, or for Tim and Hristo to tangle on lap 1 and take each other out of the race. Not that I would wish that on anyone  ;).

Qualifying 4th did not help my chances much, and with Hristo in a Lotus which had power to spare on pole things were not looking good.

Tim had qualified well and looked as if he had the McLaren tamed and quick, but at the start I jumped Al into T1 and was right on Tim's tail. Hristo was easing away in front, but Tim seemed to be struggling on full fuel ......I detected a faint whiff of opportunity in the air ;D.
Although the Eagle was a little skittish on cold tyres I figured that this was my best chance to get past Tim and pressed hard looking for a chance. A slipstream down Hangar Straight and a tight line through Stowe  moved me up to 2nd. Now I had to break the tow to Tim who would certainly return the move if I gave him a chance.
I could see Hristo about 3 secs up the road and after a lap where he did not pull away, I sensed that SHE had suggested ( no team orders you understand  ::) ) he might assist my escape with a little tow. I slowly eased away from Tim but was still on the limit with cold tyres until the tow from Hristo was greater than I was giving to Tim and the gap grew. By the time I had settled into Hristo's wake, my tyres were up to temp and what followed was just about the most commited driving for a whole race I had ever done. Lap after lap, I was pushing as hard as I dared just to stay with Hristo and as result was slightly overdriving at times. The sheer grunt of that Lotus out of the corners was  scary and I found I had to try and carry as much speed through the apexes so that my engine was "on cam" as I exited, just to keep up!!
Tim must have had a moment as he dropped off prib and it was now between Hristo and myself for the title. BUT, I sensed that Hristo was far more comfortable than I was and with the power of the Lotus would re-pass me if I was audacious enough to pull a move on him too soon. So I sat there and hoped to make a move on the last few laps. Although I could close up I could not see anywhere that might provide a passing opportunity unless H had a problem of or blew an engine. 2nd was just the best I could manage so Hristo was a worthy winner of the race and the championship.
Great fun and thanks to Syd for organising this season and to all who took part in some great racing ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wasn't aware of the final battle for title and now I feel a bit guilty to have stolen Tim 3rd place in the race. In his last effort to pass me he lost even 4th.
Nice battles with Dave and Al through the race.  :)
Grats to Hristo and podium places for champ!
Ciao

If you won and I had finished 2nd, you would've still lost the title by 3 points according to my calculations, so the other scenario was more realistic. Or you winning and me finishing 3rd or lower.

I was struggling to come up with a decent setup in Qualifying. The one I had was quite weird, I wonder why I left it like that whenever was the last (and probably first) time I drove the 43 at Silverstone. Despite that, I could see that only Al and Tim were somewhat close, about half a second off. Eventually I managed to improve the setup and do a better lap near the end, but the positions didn't change anyway.

I knew the start was critical if I was to escape any risks of Lap 1 incidents, especially at T1, so was glad that the Lotus sheer amount of torque pulled me off the line despite not exercising the best throttle control at that moment.

Once we went going I could see people behind fighting each other, but I wasn't sure who's who as I had no time to check who is driving what car during practice. For some time I thought that white car behind is Evil but after 3 laps and paying attention to my pitboard, it was confirmed that it wasn't him because he was now up to 2nd in a green (so I thought) car.

The green turned to blue once I eased off to give him a tow because leaving Tim out of the fight was important for the championship and I suspected he was close in 3rd or 4th at the time. Thanks for the mod's insane long slipstream, it didn't take long for Evil to be powered up and come closer.

From there on I was just controlling my pace, looking after the engine and trying to keep it neat and tidy. Can't say the same for Evil who was frighteningly sideways in my mirrors on numerous occasions, but somehow always managed to catch it on time and continue. I was afraid that he might retire and promote Tim to 2nd which could've endangered the points situation (of which I forgot to get better informed before the race).

At one point of the race Evil was very fast and through sheer determination he was closing up at some corners where the odd handling of the otherwise powerful Lotus left me going into without much risk. At other corners though he would struggle and so we kept some sort of a balance.

Eventually I could raise up the pace safely as the fuel loads went down. Backmarkers were no problem at all as every one of them slowed down much earlier than necessary to let us through - thanks guys, but you don't have to go to such extent.

I went for a fast lap near the end and it was even better than my pole lap which just proved the setup changes were working in the right direction.

It's nice to win this Championship again, although this time it was much closer, partially due to what happened at Road Atlanta and Riverside, but it's all part of (online) racing I guess. Grats to Evil for a well deserved 2nd and Tim for the strong late charge in the 2nd part of the season and 3rd position at the end.

ALL OUR VICTORIES ARE BELONG TO HER!!!  ;D

Well that felt good to finish the season with.. a finish!  Hopefully the gremlins have already left to set up home elsewhere for next season!  :D

I was quite pleased in a way to not be in a position to affect the outcome of the championship, not that my pace here looked at any time likely to, but I would have been nervous mixing it closely with the contenders, not wishing to influence anyones chances.  I couldn't help watching prib to see how close it was at the front and there were times when the front runners disappeared altogether and I thought the unthinkable may have happened, until prib restored itself and normality was resumed.  This obviously did little for my own consistency which added to my cars tendency to snap out on entry at times made me quite erratic.  For some reason I can never get completely happy with the 312, although I took it thinking it may be quicker than the the BT19.   Probably a case of setup, but feel more comfortable with the Brab.

Had a few interesting laps with Fulvio and got close to Tim for a while, but despite several dangling carrots towards the end I was unable to make much of an impression.

A big Congratulations to Hristo for the championship.  Good to see you being given a run for the title H, partly down to some bad luck of your own, but also some great drives I think from Clive, Tim and Goran.

Thanks to Syd for running the series and thanks to everyone (well almost!) for some exciting but clean racing.  :)

Thought I'd take the Honda for a spin, and spin it did! Twice at least.  I hadn't driven it before so it was fun to try the car out, but more practise needed with it for me needed though.

The spins resulted in Phil catching me up and we had a close last lap so that was fun.

Grats on another title H.

WD all for another season of historic racing :)

Thanks for the mod's insane long slipstream, it didn't take long for Evil to be powered up and come closer.

I hadn't actually realised just how long that slipstream was before this race - I was shocked by how much ground Fulvio could gain on me down the straight in an identical car. Then later on running behind Fulvio I misjudged how powerful the slipstream was & outbraked myself ::).

Started 3rd but was aware I was sandwiched by the championship contenders so took a pretty conservative T1 as the last thing I wanted to do was collide with any of those guys. Circulated in 4th for the opening laps, but when Tim had a moment got elevated to 3rd. Then Fulvio appeared in my mirrors & we had a pretty epic dispute over the last podium place - very enjoyable but bloody hard work! We were locked together for many laps until I made a slight error running wide at Club which was enough to allow Fulvio to nip past. I then lost another place to Tim after I misjudged the braking in Fulvio's slipstream & had a brush with the wall at Stowe. 5th seemed poor reward after running 3rd for so long, but fortunately for me Tim's do or die last lap move allowed me to regain 4th.

Congratulations to H on the win & another Hristoric championship. After finishing 9th in my first season, I'm pleased to get 5th in the championship - (slowly) making progress I guess, so looking forward to trying to improve a bit more next season.

First I like to congratulate H on the championship and Clive and Tim for second and 3rd.

I am quite surprised to find myself next and I think I will focus more on the season than this race as the race turned out to be as bad as it gets.

Missed the start, got hit, drove on the side of the track to avoid it to happen again, quite stupid really, and lost the engine power so I limped to the finish, last.

But I learned one thing at least, do not practice in "no damage" mode. When I got to the race I blew two engines in quali so when the race started I was quite scared

But the season was quite nice, I got my first win, three 3rd,s and 4th in the championship. The problem is, how will I keep this going, I think I will need some driving lessons before season 21.

Well done to Hristo on another Season won, and to Clive for stealing getting 2nd.

Must admit I wasn't expecting anything special from myself here, knew I would be handicapped into group 1 on one the courses where engine power is most usefull!
When I then saw Hristo was in Group 2 I knew I was doomed!  ;D

Had quite a good fight wih Clive early on before Hristo dragged him away from me (A few mistakes on my part helped in this) and then plodded on trying to hold position behind them.
I did suprisingly well at that for several laps and held at about 4 seconds back until I clobbered a curb and span off entering Hanger straight.
From then on I was chasing down Fulvio and Al who passed my as I rejoined and were battleing quite nicely.
I eventually passed Al after his 2nd mistake and found myself now rapidly(ish) gaining on Fulvio, I knew my championship chances were already shot (Unless the Waza's committed team suicide of course  ;) ) so decided to go hell for leather as 3rd may have given enough points to keep Ckive from 2nd in the champ.
Sadly the big curbs got me again on the last run towards the finsh and I span, letting Al and Dave passed in the closing seconds  :(

Nevermind, was a good fun season and I'll have to try again next time  ;D

Thanks for the organising Syd and Co.

The problem is, how will I keep this going, I think I will need some driving lessons before season 21.

You have a great potential, Goran, so my simple tips are: watch replays of good laps and improve your car setup skills. The rest is just practicing as much as you can. Oh and forget about GPL rank, if you focus solely on that it will turn you into a hotlapper who crashes each 2nd lap, more or less.
