And now here they are! The most daredevil group of daffy drivers ever to whirl their wheels in the Wacky Races. We have picked a few wacky tracks for you to try out in a four race heat spread over two nights (Sunday and Tuesday). We will use the same scoring system as the GPLR race and the four results will be tallied together for a final Wacky Champions table. Note we are running 65 and 66 mods per info below;

May I add that I recommend checking Milwaukee dirt against either AI or numerous persons online. It runs even on the glorified calculator I call my desk PC at work, but if you run full details like I normally do you may find 15 cars all generating dust won't help your frame rates!  ;D

Gpl seems to limit the amount of dust drawn anyway so it shouldn't be a huge issue....

These tracks are not easy - mildirt at full blast in a 65 will be close but when you lose it there is no going back - as for the stunt track - i'm hoping for resets... its tight and I fall off a lot :o

Hope to see you there (if the wife lets me - it is school the next day y'know)

How are you going to control that people use Mosport Rain? As far as I can tell it's just a texture update pack that uses the original Mosport.

Mosport Rain is more than just texture updates, check your tyre temps after 5 laps or so and you'll see what I mean  :)
In theory at least you can't enter a race at rain using the normal circuit I think.

Trust - where's the fun in not using it. Also, it has a different DAT so you couldn't just join with original Mosport (I don't think).

Ah OK so I guess it installs in a separate folder.

Mosprain I think and you have to have it installed, it comes as a new track.

I MUST protest at the results board - I did NOT retire I was just a bit leisurely ;D

It was fun. Enjoy the Moon and the rain - I have a work commitment - I am sure you will miss me.

Firstly, sorry about Mosport Rain, not one to run online unfortunately. Looks like the moon was steady.

So the results are in and, by virtue of overall performance, Tim FMG has proved he is the wackiest driver at UKGPL. Full results were;

Quote
1) Tim FMG = 110
2) Hristo Itchov = 93
3) Al Heller = 88
4) Steve Bird = 61
5) Vlad Vosblod = 60
6) Evil Clive = 43
7) Paul Badblood = 38
8 ) Fulvio Policardi = 36
9) Bob Whitwell (Baab) = 28
10) Goran Jonsson = 14
11) Mark Jones = 11

Again, please don't pass such judgment so quickly. The track seems to have been raced just fine in other leagues online as Goran mentioned, so I'm inclined to believe it was something wrong with the server. The fact that we were simply disconnected instead of getting screen freezes is a testimony to that. I've never seen a track causing mass d/c repeatedly before so it's highly unlikely it's the track itself that is the cause or the only cause anyway.

Good, being called Wacky somehow didn't resonate well with me, lol.

well, all a bit naff from me.  Didn't do particularly well in any of the races.  The last 69 moon race was going ok while chasing Al but had a hard charging Fulvio behind, had a nice rhythm going but stumbled a little through the last esses while lapping Paul, he did nothing wrong at all (so no worries Paul) but it allowed Fulvio to catch right up, I got all a bit ragged and eventually ran wide.  Need to keep the concentration and stop unforced errors happening!

WD Tim (FMG) on the mini-series.  Also a nicely put together set of fun races Tim (Vos).

I think I'll steer clear of the 69's for a while - it was really hard to see people coming up (sorry Steve) I tried to get right off the road when people were passing but a couple of times I didn't see anyone 'til they whizzed past. Really appreciate everyone's patience. Enjoying it.

Do you mean it was harder to see others because the mirrors are obscured by your own rear wing? If so, there's a simple fix for that so you can get clear mirrors.

Yes, that was the problem - pray do tell...

OK  :) - find the 69 car folder you use (I use the low wing configuration which is located in SIERRA/GPL/CARS/69Lwng). In each chassis folder, there should be a folder called CLEAR MIRRORS - paste the files from there into the chassis folder & that's it. By the way, you need to do it for every chassis that you use & each chassis has different Clear Mirror files.

Paul, honestly you did nothing wrong at all.  It is the faster driver's responsibility to make a clean pass, I just caught you in the wrong place.  It happens.  Sometimes it can work against you, sometimes it works for you, it's all part of racing.  Adds to the fun  :D
