A couple of notes re. Blue Flags during qualifying and race where they differ from GTR2;

Blue Flags during qualifying - if you see a blue flag during qualifying it will be on your outlap and the driver approaching is on a hotlap. Please take this into account and act accordingly. The driver behind does not know you are on an outlap so no rash moves out of the way please  Usual SRouk rules / guidelines should be applied.

Blue Flags during the race -  if you see a blue flag during the race it means the driver approaching is about to lap you. Please take this into account and act accordingly. It differs from GTR2 in that you will not be penalised for not allowing the lapping driver to pass within a certain period. The flag is informational only. Usual SRouk rules / guidelines should be applied.

This combo was too good to miss and seeing as I made a minor hash of last week's race and plenty of you have practiced here already, I figured it had to be worth a re-run....albeit a fraction shorter than the original planned 80 mins!

One hour that felt like two :D

I was lucky that my only timed lap that counted in Q was good enough for pole.  Dave got a rocket start from 3rd to lead the first two laps but he was very slow in T1 and once I got alongside coming out of there, he let me go.

After a few shaky laps I settled into my pace and just had to reel off the laps.  Nearly came to grief with 3 to go when I dropped a wheel on the grass braking for T2, but brought it home for the win.

Well done to everyone who finished that, it's a tough combo :)

That was a much better performance from me. Picked up Picnic's shared setup and found it undrivably oversteery, so with some practice time available this time :laugh: I set about tweaking the worst of it away with toe and caster changes. Went out in qually on race fuel and immediately got a PB so I stopped after that first lap to focus on the race start, knowing I would be at best 3rd on the grid.

I was lucky that my only timed lap that counted in Q was good enough for pole.  Dave got a rocket start from 3rd to lead the first two laps but he was very slow in T1 and once I got alongside coming out of there, he let me go.

Tee hee, I thought that might happen. The secret is to select first and have no revs on, then just stamp on the loud pedal when the lights turn green and let the automatic clutch carry you off the line (even with autoclutch on ;) ).

Was determined to lead at least the first lap after that and duly did so, but knew I was having to be ultra conservative in T1 and Mike was soon in a position for me to do the sensible thing and allow him by. Picnic was also obviously faster and a few laps later he got a good tow coming out of the final corner and I let him make a soft pass into T1 and pull away.

Oily on the other hand was going to get no such courtesy :angel: and I pushed fairly hard for much of the race, trying not to bite off more than I could chew in the really dangerous first and last corners and being somewhat concerned by the huge inconsistency in my pace, often 1-2 seconds a lap, and by my lack of concentration.

Eventually Oily cracked and had to reset and I cruised round for much of the remained of the race. Fuel was tight so I backed off even more, too much I think as I locked the rears braking for turn 3 on the penultimate lap and ended up wrestling the car over the grass trying to avoid the wall or a spin. With Oily taking a second reset and Mike not close enough to lap me I threw caution to the winds on the last lap and was rewarded with a decent time, slightly better that Picnic's FL but nowhere near Mike's.

I find this car so hard to get any feel for; I'm sure that on the right line I could take T1 flat, but even with a brief lift, if I'm so much as a few inches to either side of the right line I end up spinning or crashing. :o

In the end I was happy to finish on the lead lap and make it a Team Shark podium lock-out. ;D

I really enjoyed this combination, last week's early start meant I'd only ever driven 4 laps in the Lotus anywhere by the start of qualifying. 2 laps here and 2 at Brands when I first got the car. Really must try these things out more! However cruising round to 2nd last week obviously gave me a chance to learn and this week with that practice and a straight car I went almost 2 secs quicker. If only I could have done my optimum time I'd have done a 1:48.076 but I'm tooling around 1.5 secs off that as consistency is so hard.

Thanks for not contesting T1 too hard Dave :) I thought you'd made it easy as you'd expect me to fall off somewhere like I usually do but even with the 4 of 5 big moments I had, each one I collected, I pleased to have kept the thing off the barriers (only 1 incident point pleases me, the other 6 were for attempted donuts and hitting Oily after the end). Sadly with you ~40 secs behind there was no way I was trying a eyeball out last lap and throw away a chance to beat you. A very very rare event these days.

I don't really get a lot of steering feel in iR but I found after last week's practice I really did get a feel for the car. I'm amazed that you found the setup (Fabio's from last week BTW) too oversteery Dave. You'd definitely gone that way with your later LM setups to the point I couldn't drive them for that very reason. By staying off the curbs I found the setup pretty stable.
