Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/), 2.1 patch from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/) and enable terrain patch.
(4) Drivers are reminded that they must select ISDN as their bandwidth, otherwise the stability of every-one's connection will be reduced.
(5) P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function. You may go as fast as you like in the pits, but please exercise caution. Penalties will be handed out for causing contact in the pit lane. Use your best judgement when making your pitstop during the race.

Guys... I want to run a couple of tests with the GT cars before the next season.

Bathurst has a nice mix of high speed straights and very challenging mountain road type twisty bits. Remember that pit strategy (only take tires if absolutely necessary) is key to a good finish.

Goldtop hasn't been racing much in P&G so I'll be looking for a server starter assistant. I will not always be available to race as work and the US time zone have been challenging as of late. Is anyone willing to help out by restarting the dedicated GTR2 server at the practice time on race day? If you are willing to help, but don't know how to start the server, I'd be more than happy to teach you. It is very easy and takes just a few minutes to do.

Guys... I'll be looking for a server starter assistant.

Suggest that you start advertising now under it's own topic. It can get missed in amongst the other information  ;)

Hi Guys,

I am hoping to join you guys on this one if this is ok? Clive Loynes let me know about the race.

EDIT: Please my earlier coments below on the Falcons. I have just noticed the Mann car has a rear anti-roll bar unlike the Westlake. I shall get my coat.

"However, aren't the Falcons in the opposite groups to what they should be? I not sure about the handling but the Westlake has an extra 15 brake and is slightly lighter than the Mann? I was thinking of using the Falcon so will have a play with the Mann version for now. I am using the yellow group cars as I am a new boy."

I shall use the Westlake. Catch you all tomorrow.

Cheers,

Mark

Note that when I tried to set up a race using time it failed to calculate it correctly and set the race to 14 laps for a 1 hour (not much more than half an hour in reality).

Looks like it is best to set it up using laps. You probably know that already but just incase.

Welcome Matt. Great to have you with us.

The Falcon Mann is a much better handling car than the Weslake due to the rear bar. It is also a little better on fuel which is a factor in these events. Being this is your first race with us, you are required to choose a car from the Yellow group. This way we can guage your performance with 1 event. Your finish position will land you into a group that matches your performance for the next race.

Thanks for the heads up on the timed race ending early. The timed events often do not record the lap counts correctly. I'll be updating the fixed lap count to approximate a 60 minute race later tonight.

I notice that it says this on the nogrip download page as well......

Because of small pit area pits spots are limited to avoid not getting a pit
spot make sure you REQUEST a pit stop and DO NOT enter pits until your
pitchief says its ok

How would you know it was not ok in PnG?
In gtr2 your engineer would tell you, but PnG :-\

Hi Mike, thanks, I suspected as much after I noticed the rear bar on the setup.

It is a good way of organising things and I may try and introduce something similar for the MARA-E league.

No worries, catch you tomorrow.

Guess you just don't know but it could be well worth making the request.

Not done any practice yet so I'm hoping to slap the long legs on the z06 from Watkins Glen and give it a go tonight.

In GTR2 when the mechanichs says something like: "Repeat, I can't hear you", you can notice that the PIT blue light on the bottom left of the screen will not switch on... so you won't find anyone that is waiting for you in the pit lane...
In P&G it's the same, but without the mechanics at the radio... If the PIT blue light is switched on, in 99% you will find your pitcrew ready... If the PIT light remains swithched off after your first call, retry to push the button until it turns in blue!
That's what I do usually, and til now it worked even with P&G.

Cu

Sometimes you hear some garbled sounds from the mechanics if your pit space is currently in use by another car. If that happens, run around another lap and try calling for your pit again.

I probably wont be able to finish the race tonight, but I'll try to get to the pit stop. I have to go to Brooklyn to pickup a couple cars for my in-laws.

b'ah, turned up without any praccy on this tough demanding track as thought i was out tonight. Tried to get some laps under my belt in practise and qually but really needs plenty of laps to get setup and lines quick enough.

Struggled around near the back, getting upto 11th at one point but then lost the car in that 'too tricky' tight downhill slalom section and bounced up on the barriers. Wasnt really in the mood for it tonight oddly and the track doesnt appeal to me that much for some reason.

Really Sorry Clive :( I was slighty put off by a Mustang that was up against the wall before turn one. I was actually going slowly into t1 but couldn't stop in the end. I was still on the brakes when I pushed your car round. I waited for you and didn't see you. Thought you had given up.

So poor race for me. I waited for Clive who didn't turn up to pass me. Then I saw him later on behind me and let him past? I then got a rear wheel on the grass at the end of conrod straight. I started praying I wasn't going to collect Clive again and spun past the rear of his Vette. After that things were going much better and I began concentrating on trying to catch the main field up again. Car felt good and I was confident I would easily see the finish line at least. That was until I clipped the wall in the mountain, killed the engine and ended up in the fields. Think I may have turned in a little to early and lost the back end a bit. Certainly very surprised to end the race where I did. Everywhere else yes!

Anyway thanks again for the race. Bathurst is probably my favourite track and I really enjoyed it while it lasted. I now know where half the MARA drivers are hiding as well :) Once more apologies to Clive. I think I might get kicked out the Instanbul team at this rate.

Very tough race on a track that after three races, I'm still not sure if I like :-\

But this was certainly the most fun outing, had a good early fight with PR till he sadly went over the wall :(
Was looking like the same sort of thing with Geoffers.... but he went the same way :)

Was very sorry to later miss my braking point (by 2 miles), picked up far to much speed trying to get back to the track, then couldn't stop  to rejoin & came straight back on & into Simon's way :-[. Very sorry Simon. I'd have followed you round at that point but you went straight in the pits & while I was waiting to see you recover, I almost took out another driver for only watching you  :-[ :wetfish:

Congrats to all who finished.

Results and replay possibly in the usual places.. ::)

I love this track, though Iit always bites me eventually, and it did, Was on for a possible 2nd place, but was not
expecting to be able to hold Ade off up to the end, and he snuck through as I went wide.
Then went over a wall and back , car righted itself but was facing the wrong way! managed to get it round, but
gave Guiseppe a fright as he went past, sorry for that, like your own spin earlier, you just have to do something
as best you can.

LOL

I don't know.  You invite your mates around for a race and look what happens.

I knew I was having a bad race but didn't realise how much help I had received.  LOL

Don't worry about it Mark.  And the only way out of the Istanbul squad is in a box!

I was slow away from T1 because I didn't spot that I was in neutral and was reving the nuts of the thing and wondering why I wasn't moving.

I managed a few laps before I binned it along Skyline.

I hadn't practiced this car/track combination and it showed.

So I sloped off to Istanbul and made a mess of some practice there too.  :(

PS  Simon rang me after the race and was quite "graphic" in his description of the "censored" who had launched himself across the track at him.   ;D

This was compounded by the fact that when he pitted, the pit crew wanted to keep him there until everyone else had finished the race.  I think there were so few cars by then that all the other pit crews were lined up to have a go at him too!

Lol, Thanks Clive.

Ah that explains why I found myself pushing you round the corner. I thought I had got away with the initial tap and breathed a big sigh of relief. I was surprised to end up spinning you out.

I shall try avoid the same move at Istanbul :) I'm likely to be behind so the danger is there :)
