Cars allowed: Caterham CSR200

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Weather: DRY
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: UKRACE07 CRC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.

Special Notes: The grid procedure for Race 07 events is slightly different from GTL/GTR2. Upon joining the grid, you won't be able to rev your engine until all drivers are present on the grid. Do not attempt to esc back to garage or you will be DQ'd.

Before I fiddle with the installer, can anybody tell me whether all the Silverstone track GDBs need this fix or just the National one you'll be using for this race?

Yes Dave, all the Silverstone layouts in this pack need the fix.

Okay, I've updated them all in the v1.1.0.0 track installer.

Already really looking forward to this one after last night. Am going to have to enter into negotiations with the Mrs to see about racing regular Wednesdays. Don't suppose swapping to Tuesdays would be considered?

Silverstone Nat is brilliant in the cats. The sweep into Brooklands is a great overtaking point.

Don't suppose swapping to Tuesdays would be considered?

I thought iRacing was Tuesdays? I don't mind putting a poll up if the negotiations go badly ;)

Once my iR subscription runs out in Jan, that's it for me.
The tracks are amazing quality, three off the cars are a real joy to drive when hot-lapping, but I sadly get no racing each time... & that's what I enjoy most.
I can think of at least three other drivers in exactly the same boat & I hope Race07 fills that void for them too. :)

Disclaimer - I understand that some people love iR to bits, this is just IMO & not looking to start anything.

Just downloaded the track and tested on the server. All appears to be working as normal now.

Best time so far is a 1:00.264.

Well, I WAS enjoying the practise tonight and was please to see I was in the ball park with pace when I decided to do some recalculations with my setup which I have to exit the Sim for.  When I exited Steam advised me of a client update so I did it and tried to restart.  Steam decided that it couldn't connect to the internet so wouldn't start up  >:(  Everything else works fine but Steam so I couldn't start Race07 to rejoin the practise.

A temporary hiccup it seems. All back to what passes for normal now and a few fast 'uns on the server  :)

Yup, nice to clime back into this baby. Never done this config of the track but it's cool enough.
Managed to do a 1:00.6 i think it was, but that seems to be my limit so far :-\

Should I not allow the upgrade, it's prompting me now :(

What a fun combo, 50 percent of lap spent sideways :) Thats gonna make passing very tricky mind, race two should be a cracker.

Think we only need a few more drivers to make this series a real hit. If you want some plain and simple fun, I can't recommend this highly enough :)

Got back on eventually. I guess the steam server is getting a bit overloaded with the update.  A few on the steam forum seem to have it.  I kept trying every few minutes and it seemed to work eventually.

Would love to make it today, but I'm working in the city. Sorry GT.

Does sound interesting. Especially with Legzy gushing about it on TS all the time ;) would be nice to run something else though.

Just a bit loathed to spend money on another racing game that I'll not like after the endless updates and physics changes.

At less than six notes ( https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=8433.msg148958#new ) its not much of a gamble is it?  :) Updates via steam and aggro free (not saying steam isn't cack or anything mind). For me, a lot of Race leaves me cold, especially the FWD muck, but the Cats, Rads and the best version of Nords make it worth the 30 notes I spent.

Its also fun :)

I have to agree about mass changes to physics etc puts me off a lot of stuff, but I'm enjoying this.  Would like a crack at the Radicals too but happy with Cats for starters.

Gotta be worth a dead fish (sick squid).   OK OK I'll get me coat.

I am now 'enjoying' the same 'feature'. Grrrrr

But got in on about the 10th try ::)

What a plonker  - slipped a cog to GTL Friday 6 lap races,  :hammer:  hence my 2.4 gall chat.  I got onto the grid and had Eureka Moment  :whistling: and decided to quit.

Never mind it was good fun.  Thanks Matt for setup  :notworthy: - should have twigged it from that but I reduced fuel to qual.

hmm, well not as good as I hoped.  race 1 was OK, but I have to say I hate the reverse grid on race 2.  If I was fast enough to be up front I'd have qualified there.

Being surrounded by faster cars on lap1 in race 2 is not fun so I don't think I'll bother with race 2 from now on.

Sorry for the touch Tony.

No worries Mr Bird sir. Thanks for waiting.

Must admit I was bricking it being so high on the grid for race 2. Hope I didn't give to many followers heart attacks. First time racing in this format and I'm staggered by the speed of it. Was hoping for a pee between races, no chance. Know better next time.

Well done Ginsters and all the pods. Going to start practising for next week now. Where is it?  ;D

Tough luck Bill, not sure why they've kept that feature  :-\

Being surrounded by faster cars on lap1 in race 2 is not fun so I don't think I'll bother with race 2 from now on.

That would be real shame. "Faster" gents also have a responsibility to race properly and, from what I've seen in first few races, they do. Dicing with some new faces in R2 have produced the highlights for me  :)

Nice few laps with Cossie in R1 but a slight slip let me through and I kept up a nice pace to hold him off.

R2 was a cracker. Very patient for first few laps and really struggled to get past anyone. Then Steves unlucky touch of Tony left me through 3 or 4 with Ade stuck hard to me. He then followed me, a little too close for comfort if I'm honest  ;), as I enjoyed some fine dicing with Cossie and Matt. Luverly :)

Great pace in R2 Ade and if you started out were you should have, after R1 bug, I'd never have caught you.

Again, just one or two new faces and we'd be there  :) For me the physics model in Race is easier than others (don't care if that means its more realistic or not), that means all of us can compete and race instead of simply trying to stay alive. Which is what I prefer.

Results and Replays in the usual places

Note: Ade has been reinstated to his correct finishing position in Race 1......just behind me ;D
