I'm in for the Privateers division, pleased to see we're allowed one shift-R as this will hopefully allow me to build up more experience in these cars.

Here is the provisional split between Works and Privateers drivers for Season 20. I say provisional as the idea is to promote close racing so, if you feel misplaced, please say so. The only real change is my move to Works - will be a challenge but I did win by a margin last season so time to give it a go.
Anyone registering between now and 10 October will be placed according to their ability. We do have 20 full timers so a split is looking feasable but more drivers would be most welcome.

WORKS drivers
Kinghiro (R)
Evil Clive
Hristo
Tim FMG
Steve Bird
John Roberts
Al Heller
Vosblod
Jethro
Sam B
Bartosz (Pod)
Baab (R)
Beefpie (R)
Rick N (R)
JHalli (R)
Fulvio P (R)
Tommie van O (R)
EasternSun (R)

PRIVATEERS drivers
Bernie
Burtoner
Mike Turner
Billy Nobrakes
Bookie W
Nigel Smith
Fabio (Il Lupo)
Ronnie Peterson
Paul Badblood
Martin Maddog (R)
Ross Gilles27 (R)
Hannah (R)
Nicky I (R)
Happy Al (R)
D-Rock (R)

count me in for a works ride

Edit:  Will definitely miss 2 races due to working out of town, possibly more...  unless I take my hotel rig again.  But dodgy hotel connections make that a real iffy.  Had to vote less than 75% attendance.

If we are using stop and go for the Privateers, how long do you have to remain stationary in your pit stall?

Stop and Go means just that - you stop (0 km/h) and start going again immediately, without delay.

If Privateers are now allowing 1 reset, what is the procedure if we run 1 grid with both Works & Privateers? Or does that mean that every race is split now regardless of numbers?

Yep - general guidelines here (https://www.ukgpl.com/index.php/rules/sporting) although for Privateers there will only be one stop allowed and a Stop and Go is compulsory for any Sh/R. You don't need to stop in your actual pit stall just pull over so the pit lane is clear for any others coming through.

We are hopefull we can run two grids for every race. IF the numbers became silly (I'm thinking grids of three or four) we would have no option but to revert to one grid (and PRO) for all. We're trying one stop following some requests and in the hope of enticing more drivers to try the 67's.

By lower case- as in 'she'- I was referring to her indoors. I am of course totally dedicated to HER cause for the season, or even longer.
Unfortunately I look like missing the pre-season events due to family commitments- that is , she makes the commitment, and I honour it. lol.
But I hope to get in some more practice on the track list. See you all on the grid.

The trouble with these 67 beasts, is their preference for the wilderness.  Welcome aboard Nicky and Happyal!  ;D

Hi Juha,
Great to see you join us and attend whenever you can.
Considering your recent form at Silverstone I rather think you would prefer doing the Works against the fast guys then scratching the Privates waiting for everyone else to catch up  ::)
If it's OK with you I'll plonk you into the more experienced division and we can always change later.

Hi Toni and welcome to UKGPL, it's never too late to join. To register for Graguates you need to vote in the poll at the beggining of this thread.

The next question is whether you would be more suited to the Works or Privateers sub divisions. The Works is for the more experienced/quicker drivers whilst Privateers is suited to those who are newer to the 67 beasts.
How long have you been racing GPL? Do you have a GPL Rank? Going from last seasons Mexico event if you are qualifying in the 1.48-1.51 zone Works might be more suited to you.

Title: Re: Season 20 Graduates Cup Registration
Post by: Toni Niemi on November 21, 2010, 03:30:54 PM +0000
Hi again , yes i guess the privateer sub is more suited for me. My best times at mexico is high 1.51 :s mostly mid 52:s   in the eagle...    Im working on my gpl rank , have some negative times but not all . and not tamed the green beast yet :)   thats why i dont have any official rank yet. Been practising on it though.

Hi All
I will do everything I can to participate in Kyalami (GPL67) on Sunday...if it's ok?
I've run GPL67 (no mods) very much, but unfortunately for several years back...now I'm old & rusty, elect probably a Honda that gives more points ;D ...if I reach the man with the checkered flag.  :o
If you are looking at GPLRank...remember my lap times are from before I was rusty

Post by: vosblod on January 22, 2011, 03:01:10 PM +0000
Hi Pelle,
Welcome to UKGPL. I've processed your registration so you will be able to see the race password under the Kyalami thread. You are in as a 'reserve' driver but in reality there should be enough free spaces for you to race, don't forget to read up on the token system re chassis choice.
The next question is whether you would be more suited to the Works or Privateers sub divisions. The Works is for the more experienced/quicker drivers whilst Privateers is suited to those who are newer to the 67 beasts.
A little birdie (see the pun ;)) tells me you are in 1.19/20 territory. From past events that would put you into the Works division. However if you would feel more comfortable in Privateers for your first outing or two we could do that with the option to move you up depending on how you go.
Let me know which you would prefer.

Thx...& yes, Steve (bird? ;) & I got tested a little, big fun.
Of course I would of Works server, but I will test some more with the car (Eagle/Honda) today & see how it goes  :)

Think I'm ready for Works Server - Test with Eagle said 1:19.7, but not stable  >:(
Honda, I only used to get a Monster Rank & only had a few setups. Found a really good stable setup & competitor certainly in Honda  :)
...but I wish I knew who is coming today, & not least...what times they run  ;)

Many from season 18 are the same, so take a look HERE (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=6874#event1858), which will give you the lap times too.

If you want to try Hristo's setups, he kindly provided them for everyone HERE (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=8489.0)

Good luck

@EvilClive: Unfortunately, Honda is not my choice number one - Eagle is my favorite, but I think it is a good choice after several years break from GPL.
I will certainly start at the back & not make 'too many' accidents...& Honda produces good points - if I get to the finish line  ;D
