A couple of notes re. Blue Flags during qualifying and race where they differ from GTR2;

Blue Flags during qualifying - if you see a blue flag during qualifying it will be on your outlap and the driver approaching is on a hotlap. Please take this into account and act accordingly. The driver behind does not know you are on an outlap so no rash moves out of the way please  Usual SRouk rules / guidelines should be applied.

Blue Flags during the race -  if you see a blue flag during the race it means the driver approaching is about to lap you. Please take this into account and act accordingly. It differs from GTR2 in that you will not be penalised for not allowing the lapping driver to pass within a certain period. The flag is informational only. Usual SRouk rules / guidelines should be applied.

  Yes very good Simon!

Sure it's a little soft on the suspension but once you get it on the limit there's a lot of fun to be had. It also feels like it's got jack all power so there should be some fun drag races along the start/ finish with any luck as we all try and keep the momentum up.

Glad you approve Legz - you better make it now!

Hi James,

Can you confirm if you plan to use the Solstice or the Solstice Rookie?

Hopefully I can make it this time

Michael

Great combo, should be a mint race if the attendance is good.

58.1s here with race fuel.  57's should definitely be possible.

....actually they are.  57.5s now.  I imagine fast guys will be in 56's easily.

I'll probably be there but I don't expect to be competitive. Having major connection and CTD issues with iRacing right now. >:(

I think iRacing are having some network problems Dave so it may not be your end:-

...although I guess that's not the cause of your CTDs

Legzina! I can't believe after all that you're forsaking my wonderful event for.....well, poppadoms! If I had more guaranteed attendees I'd ban you for life

Yep Advanced Solstice Michael and where the hell's my flyer gone LOL!? Think it's Imageshack playing up again, I'll have to upload it again later if it doesn't return of it's own accord.

60 laps should be about right I'd think Ross - really hope we get a good attendance, looking forward to some close scrapping!

Entertaining a visitor tonight so I won't be there. A real shame as I was really looking forward to driving such a great car for 60 whole laps. :P

Nope.

Brands yey.
Solstice booo.

If I wasn't otherwise engaged and it was say just 10 laps then maybe, but 60 laps seems like some sort of punishment. :)

Indycar soon ;).

I'm now doing an IndyCar league on Sundays (Legends League (http://www.legends-league.com/)), but I'm sure I can make room for one here too.

As much as i think this is a good combo not having tried it, the thought of 60 mins just puts me right off.

That's a fair point actually.  40 laps might be better?  I start losing concentration after 30 mins anyhow I find.

Never let it be said I don't listen to the people - we'll do 40 minutes but we're keeping the pit stop, I'm hoping it'll spice things up!

I can't amend the flyer from here so that'll have to wait until later.

Hi,

Just registered with the League.

Hope to make this event tonight.

You'll know who I am, I'm the one at the back of the field.

Good fun that although my 3rd was gifted to me by James so we could have a bit more close racing near the end which I took advantage of ;)

Would have been really great with another 10 cars on track!

Certainly a good combo and probably could have done with another 15 laps in the end I reckon!

Finish second well behind Adam is becoming a bit of a habit. :D

Surprisingly good fun and for once my connection stayed up and iRacing didn't crash. I've changed my three screens so that they're in the same plane and am using single rendering in game and the Catalyst bezel management to get accurate 1:1 rendering. That's made a massive improvement to my frame rates and I now have maximum detail on everything except shadows, with 50% more FPS than I had before. It's not taken much getting used to and it looks massively better and smoother.

In the early stages it looked like Adam would be about a lap minus 15 seconds behind at the end - I didn't actually realise he'd stopped at all until after the race and it was a bit of a rude awakening to see him just 3 seconds from lapping me as I started my final lap :o even if I had backed off for half a dozen laps to ensure I had no fuel pickup issues on the last lap.

The Slowstice is much more fun to drive than I remember although I've never spent any time setting it up before. Brands Indy was probably the perfect venue for it with almost no straights to get bored on. :D

Again I had fun last night, not sure if I've only driven the rookie version before and I've certainly not run either since I resubscribed late last year, but the car really was good fun around Brands. Huge backend out moments that I caught all but one of in the race. Had some fun trying to keep up with Ross and Oily at the start then kept having little battles with Edward. 3 clean changes of place in one lap purely due to different lines rather than errors. Great racing there :)

Race was messed up a bit because I had to do 2 pitstops. I'm sure I never deselected taking fuel but I didn't get given any on the first stop so I had to go around and try again. Of course this time I hadn't deselected tyres again so I had to sit there while they changed them. Doh.

GTR2 bugs me with sillyness in its pitstop instructions but iR beats it. Why you can't preset the strategy I don't know and then after each stop it sets stupid values rather than leaving things as you had, grrrr.

Yes finishing off the pace seems to be my habit at the moment but I didn't really care last night - sliding that Solstice around kept a smile on my face and Paddock produced wake up calls at least every third lap heheh.

Great fun at the start and incredibly close on fuel - I was spluttering from Graham Hill on my in lap! Good pace by Ross, I suspect at the originally planned 60 min duration you'd have got the job done anyway - need to raise my game obviously! :)

Well Adam is just comprehensively carping on our heads at the moment but I'm reliably informed that Pete is a Jetta expert (that is what you said wasn't it mate?) so he'll no doubt uphold SROU honour at the next round ;)

Thanks as always for coming along - great to see so many new faces last night....on to Summit!
