Uh oh, we're in trouble now. I've just spotted that Spanner is a Lap record holder here :scared:

wow, nice interesting track !, just done some practise.  Certainly a challenge when never raced here before to suddenly have to setup a Ferrari 430 to race on it !  Its like a hillclimbing event and lots of blind crests !

Will make an interesting race, though hope contact can be avoided with so many 1st gear blind corners :-\

Tricky round here for me, front doesnt want to turn in most of the time so have tried to make it a bit oversteery which makes it pretty interesting at times with most corners cambered. Best so far is a 53.5 but typically in 54's. Seeing GT doing 52's on friday is a bit disheartening!

52's ? bugger, im doing 53's  :( and even that was a spirited handful over all these crests and tight turns

Early bath for me  :(

Gutted as looked like i was on for a cracking race.

Had struggled through qually in the 53's and then 52's but i made some late setup changes that gained me time and put in a 51 to qually 7th or 8th?
Race start, spanner braked a bit early so i took an opportunist but clean, dive down the inside and nabbed a place  :)
Then chased H@L hard for several laps whilst pulling out a gap on the chasing pack behind.
Alas on about lap 6 or 7 at T2, i got sucked into following H@Ls aston as it ran wide on the grass on exit but whereas he carried on, mine spat me round into the wall on the inside of the corner. I couldnt dare move as the whole grid came round and had to rejoin last and 18 secs down  :'(
Then drove like a loon again doing 1:52s race pace and re-caught the pack but then oddly near the top of the first hill, the car just launched me into a sudden 360 degree turn that  was still spinning when TT unfortunately hit me head on and destroyed my car  :( Race over.

I've never been so unprepared for one of these races & it showed in my performance.
Ah well, lets hope I learn my lesson.

Always liked this track  :) Great flow and rhythm to it and in the 997 it was a dream to race on tonight. Qualied P2 behind API who was as usual on another planet.....great pace  8)

Managed to pull a 2 or 3 second gap early on back to Matt in 3rd, which was enough to allow me to concentrate on my driving and not my mirrors, meanwhile Matt was kept busy battling with Jim. I thought I'd discoed with about 5 or 6 to go as they disappeared behind me. I was just about to hit esc when I saw their tabs as I rounded the hairpin, so they must have had a tangle  :sweatdrop: From then on with the pressure off it was an easy drive to the line for my first pody in GTR2  ;D ;D ;D

Congrats to API and well done all.

Wot Goldtop said. Followed him for a few, sort of catching then not as I was cautious braking, then Laz was all over
me like a bad cold, the Ferri was much faster down the straights,I was a bit quicker in a couple of tight turns
had some good pass/repass action, I got bored of defensive driving so moved over down the fast hill
to let him by assuming he would run away and pass Goldie, but I could easily keep up, and even made a couple
of speculative half passes. Then I braked late into the 1st tight right, he less so and I tapped him,(sorry for that)
into a half spin, waited and we went at it again with HAL now pressing me from behind. Was great fun having
someone to race from start to finish.  :)
In hindsight I probably should have kept blocking, and not been so accomodating.  :(

Intense race! :)

I was fighting hard with nsfast from early on with MJ in the mirrors. MJ fell back after a while, unlucky mate, I almost came a cropper at that point too. I had an incident with nsfast soon after, sorry mate. :( Luckily we did not loose too much time but, he eventually made a mistake and I was able to pass, was not easy until that point. I tried hard to catch Lazlow and Matt but, they were allot faster. I was only able to catch due to them slowing each other down. Near then end I got really close and tried a very opportunist move on Matt in case I could catch him off guard. No team orders at Pseudo. ;D It did not work and I could not get close enough to try again.

Good fun, well done podiums, see you all next time. :)

Made a quick setup a few days back and thought I was gonna make some laps on Saturday. Was busy and then on Sunday as well. Then on Sunday afternoon there was no net, some kind of ISP service crash, the note was it was not likely to be fixed before Monday. But it was, just before the race, but I didn't practice any. ::) Qualified with the intended race setup and felt reasonably ok. Then in the race I was driving closer to the limit and kept falling off until I slowed down. And it shows. :D
Like Legzy said, you get what you invest. Next time. :)

Wasnnt particularly enjoying this as i had thought it would be, you had to really overdrive it through the corners and straightline them as much as possible with the tyres suffering a bit. However come qually i bolted softs on the front and ran low fuel for the first time and surprised myself to get in the 51's so parked it as i felt i was too far up the grid for my pace!

However i was tweaking the car all the way up to the race if it helped or not not sure but as usual wit hthe pressure of actually racing people my pace improved quite a bit. It takes a while to get brake and tyre temps up so got mugged by MJ on the second corner and then just set about trying to push with quite a group behind early on. Managed to pull a gap on those behind sadly MJ fell off later on but H@L and nsfast were dicing a bit and clearly slowing each other up and for a few laps thought i could get nsfast but with Greg coming up behind i lost focus a bit. Being a bit hesitant it took a while for him to get past as alot of the corners are still quick and there arnt too many passing places but after that was just trying to watch the gap behind and get to the end.

But i'm not entirely sure what happend but braking into second corner i must have locked up a bit or just got on the grass as it speared into the barrier on right and killed the engine. Didnt think i was going that fast to do all that damamge. Had a nice bonfire going there for a few moments.

Looks like i've now got Legzy on my tail in the points and at snetterton for the final round ::)

Damage limitation again last night...was going to run Soft/Mediums in the race, but seeing the times API & Goldtop were doing in the 997 there was no way I could match them so I decided to play it safe and run Mediums/Mediums.
The pace of Ferrari 360 down the straights made it possible for me to make some overtaking moves...and after the 3rd attempt of trying I managed to get past Matt down the long downhill straight promoting me to a 3rd place finish.

Snetterton in 2 weeks....hopefully I'll be able to stay a little closer to API to give him someone to race with ;D

Laters
