Welcome to this pre-season test/fun race featuring the Caterham CSR260. This is a chance for us to get to grips with the slightly faster cat, before we head off to Europe to begin the championship.

Those who took part in our CSR200 event last season at Silverstone National should already have the GP track, so no need to download. As ever, please report any track issues after the race.

The server is always up unless there is a problem or there's a race on.

So no server tonight between 7:30 - 9:30pm

No server so i ended up having a full blown race meet with a full grid of the AI at 96%  :)

Once again, this sim blows me away! Im still kicking myself for not delving into it deeper despite owning it for 2 years !
These 260bhp Cats are mega and feel great and fun to drive, as well as looking and sounding superb on this stunning (best ive seen) version of Silverstone.  8) So much detail trackside that you have to adjust your eyes to look out for your brake points and distance boards.
The engines sound dead right with the drafty carb sounds and handle just as you would expect them too, fishtailing out of corners, power slides and wiggles as they go over dips and bumps. Top stuff.  :thumbup1:

1:56 so far for me. Not very sure how these feisty cars need to be setup ideally as limited track time with them.  :-\

edit: ps..also tried out the wtcc cars. Got to say once again, they are stunningly detailed, sound absolutely spot on and feel right. The only problem for me is they feel dog slow compared to the GT cars we are so used to racing with, and even compared to the sprightly caterhams ! Yet when you watch a replay you can see your still hussling along pretty quickly, its just the speed perception in the cockpit. Not sure i would find them scintillating enough for a race distance...but the action would be very close i think.

Crank up the volume no matter what car you drive in Evo/race, they did a fantastic job with the car sounds this time round. :notworthy:

Which version of Silverstone are we using for this one?  ???

The threads say GP- the server at the top says International.

I'm confused.  :-\

I'll wait till the server is back up. The International version is shorter than the GP one.

55.7 for me tonight.
Most enjoyable fun it was too on the server! :o  ;D

Doesn't need quite so an extreme setup as the 200bhp Cat, already it's a bit more neutral rather than understeery by nature... though obviously it's more fun to make the back end a little playful :whistling:

I left before the first race finished as I was easily too slow to compete and it was a bit pointless continuing. I like the cars alot but if I'm sooo of the pace I don't think I'll be bothering.
Have fun guys

c'mon Tony, no need to give in so easy !  Just get some more practise in and the times will come.

I thought that was great fun, these cars are excellent to drive hard and give me the feeling from many kart events ive done in the past with the ffb giving decent feedback through the steering and making my arms ache!  :P
Had some great battles, especially with Mcfids once again  :) stupidly outbraked myself at the end of hanger straight twice in the race so ended up 7th, but enjoyed it all the same.
Couldnt make race 2 unfortunately as was on a promise  ;) and you dont leave Italian women waiting  ;D

1st race was fun, but I was locking fronts, so set the bias from 61 to 60 for second race, adn was all over the track under braking
I like these cars, but it is becoming to much like masochism, I set the bias to 60 and reduce the brake amount to 90% or whatever
the lowesrt is, and I can't "race" because I am having to manage the braking at every corner, left 2nd race in frustration
May not bother with any more of these cat events.

Any ideas on why it's not showing up our team names? :-\

I can understand the Legend boys wanting to hide their allegiance, but everyone else ??? :P

I almost didn't race, there is something seriously messed up with the way my system was working. Race07 seems to have a dead spot in the steering input around straight ahead, but it's lopsided. If I go to Controller settings and watch the white bar move as I steer there is a pronounced dead zone, but I have to move the wheel more to the right from center before the bar moves.

While practising I found I could detect it in the lower powered cats we ran last season but it is less noticeable. But it's dire with this car. It really doesn't feel like driving at all around the straight ahead area.

Could I ask for someone to post both their Logitech Profiler settings and in game settings as I couldn't find a magic combination that made the steering remotely believable.

Yes, the downfall of THE Legends Racing Team could be paralelled to the disintegration of the Roman Empire. Or British. ;)

Hmm...had a lot of trouble importing these results last night. Our site was taking ages to load and would usually time out with an error message. Other sites were ok so I'm sure it wasn't a generally sleepy connection or anything my end. After several attempts to import and generate standings, this is how they appeared  ???

Some great racing last night although real life kept distracting me throughout culminating with the Tesco shopping turning up during lap 3 of the 2nd race :( (certainly not as fun as MJs excuse...).

First race was a great scrap with MJ and Picnic but the handling really dropped off in the latter stages - not sure if my tyres were shot or I had damaged the car.

The second race was even more frenetic with a great battle with Ade - we were inches apart at times - and made it up to 4th from 11th until I had to take enforced retirement.

Congrats to podiums.

Was reserving judgement until I had chance to try it offline properly.
I joined late having only just installed the game so was on all the wrong settings!
Worst being 900 deg rotation of the wheel. Adjusted it to 360 and tried it again.... a lot better!
Not convinced yet, although I can see why you like the car!
Gonna do a few offline races to get up to speed, am still way off pace :(

Was a great time to be part of, these two races. I must say it went by as a bit of a blurr and I can't really separate all the events, especially in race one where more mistakes were made, at least by me.

Race 1: qualified 3rd and was a bit faster in various attempts but always slower in the end than Lazlow and Ade. Overmotivation, I guess. :D Start was a bit chaotic and I beg forgiveness if I had a contact with anyone and didn't aknowledge. Please report, I really can't remember. :-\ What I do remember is the frantic pace and constant moving to overtake or make a leverage to push others into mistakes. It worked, though two ways. :P In the end Lazlow managed to make a gap and once Ade made a little mistake I was able to start chasing Lazlow in the lead. Couldn't catch him, though, even with the fastest lap of the race. Well done. 8)

Race 2: much less to report, even if I started from 7th place. Managed to get past some drivers in a clinch and mostly gained from mistakes of others. Once I got up front I maintained the gap and tried to drive with less mistakes.

Great fun, these cars. More power, more fun - at least for now. Do they make these beasties with 800 HP? ;)
