Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.

(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read

If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Porsche 904

I have my pipe and cloth cap ready. I will drive the Volvo.

Having trouble with Volvo.  File in the right place but no see when selecting cars.  Had trouble when GTLDK raced it some time ago.  Henry fixed it by sending me a line to change in a file.  I think it was something to do with the site where the Volvo was down load  from and their different, from standard, classification of car groupings.

Nice UKGTL Jag Tony, Ford Escort FVA looks and sounds nice.

I could not see the volvo at first. I ticked every box in the allowed cars not just the groups and then it appeared

Must be something to do with the car it's cloned from. I'll investigate. Thanks for the feedback chaps.

Found the GTLDK fix that Henry gave me and tried it without success so had to uninstall and reinstall.

Actually I don't mind which car to run.
Just have a slight preference for the 904 but if interest is high in the 904 then I will swap to another car...

You should get a warning message when you do that

Right then, I have installed everything. Everything went fine except the Volvo 1800  ::)
Uninstalled, deleted the sounds and car files, re-installed, I bought all cars, but when I go to the car choice, it doesn't show, however, the sounds and the car files are at the right place (I think...), sounds are in the sounds folder and car is in the GTC-65 folder.
Any tip please?  ;D

Guys, there is a fix at the BUDE, it's name is 'Volvo P1800 Bude-download classes fix' and it worked.
At least is the name I have in my download file.

Get the message "car not on the server" concerning the Escort TwinCam FVA ?

The car is linked to the Lotus Elite so you need that car "on". But if you tick all classes it should show for selection.

I presume that the car was released without the GTC65 class being added to the .CAR file. Every version of the Volvo has it's own .CAR file so you must do them all, not just the car you want to drive.

You can edit the .CAR file by using Notepad. This is the part of the .CAR file that needs tweaking,

classes="SIM_FULL, SIM_GTC, SIM_ABB_Server3, SIM_P1800, SIM_ELI, SIM_GTCTC65, SIM_NIGHT, SIM_NOLONG, SIM_ABB_GTC65, SIM_GTC65"

Add the red bit and you should be good to go. Don't omit the comma  ::)

You may have to buy the cars again.

EDIT: Could you try again please. I've corrected something on the server and it's worked for me.

Had an hour or so on the server tonight in a few of the cars and all seems well. Haven't done anything special with the installs and all cars seem present and correct in my garage and on track.

I was looking for it last night, but couldn't spot it. Even with the 'search' option of the site.
I know the file's name because that is what I have in my GTL download folder.
If you want, I can put the file here if someone teach me how to do it. 

I will drive or the Volvo for the fun, or the Escort MKI because my Dad had one in 1974.  :)

There were two of us online at the time, I was in the Volvo & Alex in the TR4.
So I would start by reinstalling those two & try again now, the GTL server will not be running tomorrow evening from 7:30-9:30pm (due to other race).

My laptimes:
TR4    = 3:02
Jag     = 3:02
Volvo  = 2:58
Escort = 2:58
Porka  =  ?  (Goldtop was similar pace to me in other cars & he was doing 2:53 in the 904)

I can't get to drive the Porka because it costs £295,000 (not even on the server ???). I only have about £30,000. Anyone know how I can get round that?

Legzy just go into the car file and change the price (I stick them on 1$)

I think this is for GTL, create an empty file in your install dir called TG2001.DYN and you can buy anything.

That way we can create 3 classes on a same race, cooooooooooool.

Well it's not limitless. You get $1,000,000 and it only works once per profile. Once it's used up you have to create a new profile and fiddle about with it to get your settings back. Far easier to do what Ade says and change VALUE in the CAR file to $1.

Can only be used once per profile tho  :(

Which number car is that one Alex? Just curious as I wouldn't know a Borrani wheel if I were run over by one.

We don't have a Chevelle on our server  ???

they are beautiful wire (?) wheels, much used by Ferrari and other exclusive manufacturers.

There were shown Legzy on a Volvo and Alex on a Chevelle and Alex's 
player name popped up again and again when game freezed.

Just a miracle of GTL - hopefully. Just tested the Escort FVA online - worked fine.

SpecialK, you need to try the TR4 online. That is what Alex was in. Sounds like you don't have the Tr4 installed, would explain the repeat flashing of Alex's name.

Bingo - that was the mistake - my mistake  ::).
Installed the original TR4 mod V. 2.5 and not the simracing.org.uk-version.

Have a problem with my steering set-up , G25 :-\
If I want to assign a key and I click it, it is assigned to my left mouse key inmediately .
Had this problem before in January last year but have forgotten how I solved it ......

I've already created a new profile and downloaded the new Logitech Profiler , but no help

Strange thing is that I don't have any problem in P&G , just in GTL .

Anyone with a brilliant idea here ?  ( topic related  ;D)

Porka was decent enough.
Jag is a bit 'special interest' for my liking :-\

I'm gonna try to join. It seems my CTD problems have to do with the skinpack. I have downloaded and installed all the addon cars from UKGTL, but NOT the skinpack. Will that cause a mismatch online ?

You shouldn't need the skinpack for this race - there are no UKGTL skins for these cars yet.

Stig, Phil is correct. But for all future races the skinpack is essential.

I'll definitely be Escort mounted(!) tonight. Got into the 2.56s with it & I'm sure it has the potential to go a lot quicker, but I can't get a setup that makes the car predictable to drive. Sometimes it will understeer on the power & other times oversteer, if you could be sure what it was going to do you could drive it accordingly. Still a fun car to drive though  ;D

Unistalled my unifying software from Logitech, but no good.

It was something very easy but can't recall either.

Do you know which race the issue occured? We can track the forum messages for that race.
Another thing you can do is look to your post when you enter your profile...

Sandor i think I had the same problem at one time, if i remember it was my gear shifter set as gate shift and i had it in gear when trying to setup the wheel buttons.

Just had a little go in the Jag :o that engine is a bit delicate, lost 1% engine health on  every gear shift changing at the shift light.

I can get the jag down to mid 03s, Volvo low 03s, and TR4 low 02s with race fuel
Not tried the others. I will drive the Volvo or Jag depending on which is less polular

Expected to have a lonely race in the TR4 but I was pleasantly surprised to have some company during the race.
Even finished 9th  ??? or something in my little loved Triumph.

Liked the cars and nice to see a good turnout for a test race.

It's so depressing finishing when many of the teams already left for home  :-\

I lost 10% just getting the thing off the Start line, lost 55% by the time i crashed it.

Really enjoyed the 904/4 tonight...felt like a real thoroughbred race car around this great circuit.

No problems that I noticed with this or other cars. Fuel readings on the 904 were a bit conservative as are most, engine health was excellent losing only 1% over the 12 laps and tyre wear pretty even at around 2 to 3 each corner by the finish. Grip went a little off as temps fell slightly into 50s as I eased off mid race, but grip returned as temps rose back to low 70s when I started pushing again.

Looking forward to driving it sometime next season.

TR4 was my fave car but was too fast compared to Jag and VOlvo for me.
joined with the Jag, and saw Phil's times were quite a bit faster than what I had been getting and there would have been 4
of them, so rejoined with Volvo and was amazed at Legzy's times at more than 4 secs faster  :o
Ahem, dropped the gearing down 2 clicks and I went quite a bit faster, gave it some more front grip and it went a bit faster
again, still was 1 sec off Legz's best in the race, but was able to slowly catch him and Ade and then sneak past them both
disaster when Ade then lost it in Eau Rouge leaving me and Legz, door to door stuff, he spun I pulled ahead, i spun , he passed
he spun I passed, then he just got me out of Eau Rouge as I was getting a bit wandery by then, nose to tail over the line
Excellent racing.

Very enjoyable race.
First with Geoffers, then with Tibs and later with Sqter.

How do you get this info in GTL, is there a program like the one for P&G that shows you tyrewear,  laptimes ect, maybe even the possibillity to change pit instructions ?

It's the same xd tool Stig....the only difference is that you cannot preselect pit options.

Just copy the file that you put into P&G's main folder, into GTL's main folder and it should be job done.

Replay available and results will be finished tomorrow. Just have to add the details of the new cars.

Forgot how the  countdown sequence in GTL worked and started way too early  :-\
Hit the break but it was too late and got a stop-and-go penalty , and that pitlane is long.
When I finally got out I was 1.30 min behind already.

What left was a very lonely race . The last few laps I was trying to take myself to the limit and went over it  ;D
Crashed the suspension and decided to skip the last lap.

Was nice to have a drive in GTL again.

I tried to join yesterday after having removed the Skin-pack ( it caused a CDT earlier ), but that didn't work, the game just kept loading the different players over and over. I then reinstalled exactely the same skinpack ..... and wupti .... all of a sudden everything seemed to work!

Had no problems with, Escort FVA, both versions of the 904 - the only problem was the stupid driver.  Some how I seemed last night to have lost the knack of driving - what's new.  Wasted time changing cars, then in qualifying realising my mistake and reverted to the 904/4.  Got about the same lap time as in practice, made a reasonable start but screwed it all up accelerating near the pit exit and went across the track and bounced off the left hand wall.  After that I put in some good laps (new PB) and caught up/passed a few drivers only to spin or run wide.  Had usual little dice with Tony only to go straight on at the last corner in the race in my mad attempt to catch him.  As a result I lost another place and finished in my usual position as last runner.

My only observation on the car was it seems to be robust when abused - over revving and crashing into stationary objects.

Bit puzzled by that Jag engine wear. I was mainly short shifting so finished the race on about 80%. But I did notice that not every green light gear change caused the percentage to drop.
If I get a chance I'll be doing some further testing.

Fairly lonely race after the first couple of laps dicing with PR. Goldtop caught & passed just after half distance, but other than that I never really saw another car. Still was fun driving the Escort, look forward too driving it again at some time during the season.

Was fun for me too.

Fighting with a bad setup as usual. Let's say: competitive on the straights but
far too slow in the corners.
Ran out of fuel during my last lap and had to go very slow to the finish, but
could overtake Bill in the last corner due to his turner.

No problems with all the cars I tested, but thinking about my nearly 10 seconds
difference to the fastest lap of an Escort  ???.
As long as I'm no rolling obstacle...  ;D

I remember it was a very good race with some very nice cars 8). Had some good racing with Phil & Ade & Matt. Good one guys.

Regarding the Jaguar  MKII engine-issue I think the XD tool is incorrect. Even if you get the engine wear down to 32% it doesn't effect the power at all !
The reason my engine died on me, was because I overreved it when downshifting, which is a realistic reaction IMO  ;D
