Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: x2
Fuel consumption: Normal

Server: simracing.org.uk BSCC
Password: see above (#post_event_password)

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=267&theme=5)
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: There are no start lights, instead there are starting marshals who wave a green flag to mark the start of the race. The pole sitter can't see any of these marshalls without using the "look left" feature. Suggest the grid countdown feature be turned on.

Please read this

After the recent test race it was discovered that the Jag MkII has a delicate engine. If you drive it hard the engine will quickly expire. If you watch the revs and don't exceed 6000rpm you will be fine.
I have added another car to this series, the Daimler V8. There are two versions. The white car suffers in the same way as the Jag MkII however the red car has no problems.
I will continue to investigate if there is a fix for the Jag.

The Ford Falcon is leading in the picture. I may go out on a limb here without testing any cars and say I'll take that one.

Deserves to be run fortnightly, alternating with the other cracking UKGTL you've put together. :(

If only we could do a UKGTL every week :whistling:

AM using the skinpack I already had, not sure if this one is "new". The Daimler does not appear to be on the server
but the Falcon is.
So far a couple of laps in the Flacon got down to 1:42.5. after lot of setup fidding laps in the Daimler 450 managed 1:42.2
I think the Flacon would go a deal faster with the same amount of laps. Would like to drive Mr Daimler though.
I though I had seen a Daimler Dart somewhere on the web. that would be fun if it exists.

My fault about the Daimler not being on the server, sorry. I'll fix that tonight. I havent seen the Daimler Dart?

EDIT: Daimlers are now available in multiplayer.

Seems to be someone's variant on the Daimler 450, he called the SP250 which was actually the Dart but his
is the saloon.

Saw one race in the 1960/1 season at Snetterton, was at the old hairpin - only railway sleepers then to separate the cars and spectators.  The Dart came over the top of the rise before the dip into the hairpin and lost it, flew into the in field and bounced along a bit shedding fibre glass until all that was left was a chassis, suspension and the V8 engine.  Don't remember what happened to the driver.  There t'is

Expect it'll all turn to worms in the event tonight - used up my days driving stamina.  :wheelchair:

My prediction was so right.  Got a good start and avoided all the crashes and was up to 6th, I think, and trying to relax and drive smoothly to make my tyres last when I just touched the left hand verge (mid way between last turn and pit entrance) got pointed right, hit the right hand bank and somesalted only to be collected by a Jag.  Sorry to Jag driver I guess I screwed your race as well.

Could have been such a great race... ::)

Qualied about 4th. Down to about 7th by T1. Back up to 3rd & had the run on Geoffers going into the last turn of L1, just saw a twitch from Geoffers (didn't do anything wrong) & I flinched & I lost the back end... :'(
I was stranded facing the wrong way between the full tilt final two turns & I sat & waited till the coast was clear... I powered my 1310 Mini round, but my front bumper got caught up in the grass bank... In the blink of the eye I'm thinking, 'I can't move forward & if I move back I'm right in the middle of the track'... :-\ BOOM!!!  I don't think there was anything poor Pele could have done to avoid me there. So sorry Pele, if I'd had the slightest idea I wasn't getting round I'd have made sure every single car was past, not just till I couldn't see another car :-[. Pele pitted immediately for repairs :( :-[ but I decided to keep going to test the car out. Quickly realised it wasn't too bad.
About 8 laps later, I changed my mind as I was spinning under braking & veering badly off when accelerating! >:(
Pitted, full repairs & two laps down later... rejoined behind a herd of cars. Sqtr was one of them & lost it in his big falcon, Ade hit him 1st & then I got caught with his other end as he came across the track.
My mini was mullered again, steering wheel off to the side... kept going for another 4/5 laps & still able to gain on Ade up in about 3rd at this point, when my poor little car just drifted a bit wide going under the bridge & .... R.I.P. little mini. :'(

Hope I do better in the next round!!! (Goodwood in a month)

Wow, did someone hand out steroids in the pits?  :o

First laps looked more like a WTCC race at Macau than a semi-endurance race.. saw some of the most veteran drivers somersault their cars in the air.

Was quite some spectacle from my little Mini I must say. Bill spinning on the straight was interesting and a burning Jag (that's what you get when you mess with a fine engine  ;) ) completed the entertainment.

Never imagined to finish in P7 but attrition was one of the highest I have ever seen.

Quite enjoyed the show though  ;D

Congrats to the Cosworth man and thanks all for the racing.

Good race, might have finished higher if I had not pitted for tyres, As my lefts were both under 25% and blood red by
lap 16, I assumed they would not last the race without blowing. I didn't realise you could drive a Falcon for 20+ laps with
the wear at 0 or I might have tried, I was 30+ secs in front of Phil, so "might" have just hung on, enjoyed the
racing anyway.

Big Grats Cos  :thumbup1: ...& more gold to GTLDK  :D

Changed mid qual from Daimler to Jaguar & totally forgot the earlier braking point on lap 1...Big Sry Phil  :'(
Already turn after I was even sent to the counting of a push  :( ...but in car number 13 should I experience more - still on lap 1 - Legzy come across, NP.
As I see it, you try to to run out on grass , butthe edge is too high & the car stops - Bang - shame...it all went so fast that I forgot to flash with the lights
More in shock throughout the race, engine dies more & more every lap & running over the line with 3% engine...at a great tenth place  ;D

Fun race & Thx

Very eventful race, just a shame I didn't reach the end. :'(

After several laps in the 1.39s, eventually got into the 1.38s on my last qually lap to grab pole. Start wasn't great but I held onto 3rd place until Pelle & Phil had an incident at the Hairpin, 2nd place didn't last long as Sqtr's Falcon went by on the straight. Got held up in the last turns by the Falcon & both Legzy & Tibs closed up. Saw Legzy spin out behind, sorry if I caused you to crash Legzy, I was trying to give you room but the 1310 is quite a twitchy car. Tibs pulled alongside down the S/F straight & as we turned into T1 we collided & both went off  :(. I couldn't see where you were Tibs, I think it was a case of neither of us giving way.

Couple of laps later I went off on my own at T1 when I clipped the bank on the inside. Was now down to around 12th place  ::). Got things together a bit after that & gradually worked my way up the order. Eventually caught up with Phil, who must have had a 'moment', & we spent several laps running together & gaining on Sqtr. Phil made a mistake at Coram & I nipped past for 4th place. With around 6 laps left we caught Sqtr's Falcon, but getting past was going to be tricky, the Falcon was a roadblock in the corners but tore away down the straights  ::).

But I didn't get the chance to try a pass! Going into Coram I had to slow behind the Falcon which tightened my line, I clipped the inside bank & flipped the car, doh! I finished upside-down in the middle of the track & I could hear a car approaching at speed, so hit 'ESC' to get out of the way.

Congrats to Cosworth, Ade & Phil.

Cya all at Goodwood.

The Ford Falcon is leading in the picture.

It's actually a Galaxie not a Falcon in the picture. The Falcon didn't race in the BSCC until 1966.

Well that was quite a good turnout for the 1st "proper" race of 2011 and certainly not without incident!

The Mini's seemed to be the most accident prone cars. Legzy's rear end hanging out over the track was re-modelled by Pelles Jag, who in turn performed some fine acrobatics as his car tumbled and rolled down the straight. Tibs went off later at the same spot but ended up on the wrong side of the fence but was able to rejoin. Geoffers took turn one or two on two wheels which ended up in a A over T type situation. And so it went on.......

Alas poor Bill received a pounding from two Jags, one after the other. Stranded on the start/finish straight, sideways on, after a roll, Bill moved forwards just as the first Jag chose to pass Bill on the right, crash! The 2nd Jag then hit Bill again.

I must apologise to Mr Drake for the large impact when I slide under heavy braking into the side of his innocent Cortina, sorry Syd.

Looking forward to Goodwood now, another fast circuit. Oh look! I can take the Falcon he he.

Never a truer word spoken my friend. I don't think I've ever known a car so keen/able to turn corners!

If my car hadn't been so darn twitchy (particularly at that section of track), I'd have had no bother at all  / :hammer:, anyway, not your fault mate, just one of those things :)

The speed difference between the standard Mini and the 1310 version is enormous!

Really interesting race. These small british tracks seem to be very funny.

Practice: only a short one for me and I changed the cars more than once, because I had no time to get to know the track and I found that the Mini 1310 was much faster than the Cortina but could not find a suitable setup in that shortness oftime so I returned to the Cortina.

Race: some crazy crashes in the beginning. I didn't feel that bad at all but - as usual - I lost places due to my usual faults during a race. Around lap 25 I was unconcentrated a little moment and crashed into the pit wall frontally. That was it.

Thank you Tony for your outstanding work concerning the preparation of the upcoming races this year  :thumbup1: :thumbup2: :notworthy:

A lot of british tracks were derived from the perimeter roads around WWII airfields, examples being Snetterton, Goodwood and Silverstone.

It's all worthwhile when guys like you appreciate and enjoy it, and thanks.
