Really wanted to race at Enna. Missing the races, Hope to race with ya soon

Think I'll take the Corvette for this one, and spray on some special 'anti-tyre' paint. GTR feels really strange after spending so much time with GTL.

GTR feels really strange after spending so much time with GTL.

I need more time in the day. Still doing Cup C in GTL!!
Had to restart Cup C after I discovered the brakes fail on th TVR on lap 8 of 8 at Spa.  :-[

Does somebody want to pay me for driving online, then I can quit my job and have the time I need to play GTL!?

The lobby has been on backup server so if anyone is having trouble logging in then it's because of bug which requires registering again on the backup as well (same username etc).  ::)

Actually none of that post is valid, DNS records take about 24 hours to propogate

Both lobbies are hosting on a C64 ;D

You just have to accept they are both very unstable.

Server is up but I have no idea in which lobby, it doesn't tell you. Several have joined so if you experience troubles finding the server quite the lobby and rejoin. With luck you'll end up in the same one as the server.

Good luck all  :)

My sincere apologies for you guys tonigh at Enna. It was inexcusable what just happened. My little kid is a true menace if I leave my room door open. He just barged in here wanting to turn the wheel and press the pedals. During the foramtion lap I was able to keep him at distance but as soon as we were getting ready to start the race I focused on the monitor and he pressed my gas pedal. I tried to avoid it and hit Esc, but wasn't in time to avoid contact with the other cars.

Once again my apologies to all. It was entirely my fault.

Ferkin great >:(  I get smashed up the arse so hard on the formation lap that my car goes airborne and lands the wrong way round...what happened to the speed limit ??? ::)  Pits tell me i have aero damage but decide to see how it handles. Also dumped to the back of the grid. Very first race lap, Luis? rolls it right in front of me entering the first chicane, no where to go as i'm full pace but straight into the tyre wall as his wrecked car is in middle of track :'(

Total b*lls up of a race start and a waste of time. >:(  Why does everyone keep trying to win the race on the first lap of a 40min race?, especially at Enna and with cold tyres and brakes.....last few races seem to be chaos at beginning. ::)

First chicane? You meant 1st corner don't you? The wreckedge was on T1 and hit Esc as fast I could.

about turn 4 isnt it Luis? The fast jink with the horrible tyres either side. Presume that was your car crashed there?...think you had rejoined from turn 1 / 2 grass in front of me.
Not your fault if your kid messed with your pedals, i'm just aggrieved to not even get a full race lap done :'(

Nope, I didn't rejoined. I hit Esc at turn 1 trying to avoid wreckedge but wasn't fast enough to avoid ruining the other drivers race

Don't know exactely what happened at the formation lap  ??? I followed the car in fron of me at a reasonable distance and suddenly the field came to a halt  ???

Punctured a tyre in the last corner with about 20 minutes to go, had to limb back to the pits the entire lap. Got back on track, worked my way up to tenth, then blew up my engine in the first corner with only 8 minutes to go. That's about the stupidest thing I can think of you can do to end your own race  :(

Think there was a diff. accident you were cought up in Mark, Luis's was def. at T1.  Totally silly the number of accidents in the first couple of laps, and in quali too - if that quali session was moderated there'd be a lot of drivers with points against their name.

Gonna check the replay before writing anything else  :-\  fwiw my race was pretty uneventful!

Post by: Mike Wrightson on November 22, 2005, 10:02:51 PM +0000
I was up to 6th when I clipped the tyres at the first fast chicane :(  lost the splitter and bonnet, a pitstop would surely have been needed and that would lose me too much time for a sprint race so I quit.

Don't enjoy Enna particularly and TBH, I'm not enjoying racing at the moment either.  I want to be more competitive but I don't have the practice time to get there, this brings out a lot of frustration and mistakes trying to go quicker.

I'm > < this close to just quitting league racing altogether.

I spent the first ten minutes trying to keep up with Leuven  but soon realised he was way too fast.
So it looked good for second place - until my engine blew entering the back straight. First time its happened and strangely the engine temp showed only 84c  :o  Ah well, I had been screaming the thing for the early part of the race and still had good fun.

That was a real race of attrition. The race finished about 5 minutes early due to LEUVENS stonking pace, which was a relief as far as I was concerned.

Good race for me. Took the Corvette as it's a bit more forgiving over the kerbs and qualified back in 13th. Had one off a few laps in when looking in my mirrors, luckily no where near the tyres. After that I was very consistant, never pushing too hard, and worked my way up to 6th as people retired or spun off. One of my better races, very pleased to finish.

As always, race incidents to the moderators please, looks like they will be busy.  :(

Congratulations LEUVEN, and all finishers for surviving "The Tyres of Doom"

Damn guys, really sorry to hear about the troubles. I glanced back approaching the first chicane on the pace lap and saw a red Ferrari recieve a massive shunt up the back, sending it flipping. Had a horrible feeling it was Mark who's just had completely rotten luck despite really putting the effort in this season. It's time the guy had bit of luck  :'(

Did a new PB 1:32.4 in qually only to find that was god enough for about 9th... amazing pace in GT Sprint this year. The top 5 times or so had alien written all over them  ;D

Tried really hard to concentrate (this time) but found myself thinking about work a couple of times and both reulted in a slide ::). Lost a couple of places that way but also made a few up in the race and finished 7th. Credit to Aagramn who, once I'd slid and was behind him, I was sure I was going to catch what with him in a Corvette and me in a rootin' tootin' 550. Couldn't keep up though and was slowly leaking 10ths /lap. In the end I decided discretion is the better part of Valour and all that and backed off to make sure I got through the chicane on the remaining laps OK.

It seems like blowing the engine doesn't have much to do with temp. My engine temp was something like 86 when it blew up. It just gives up because of the engine braking you are doing when downshifting. It's really easy to overrev it that way  :(

Am I the only one who likes Enna?  :P :D

Qually went ok, but couldnt get up to usual speed, but should be expected without recent practice, especially at Enna (everyones favourite track ;))

For the first few laps mo was running at a fast pace and I was only very slowly edging away, so I thought I was in for a close run till the end.
Kept a pretty good race pace early on and got a 1:29 as my fastest lap, thats when I decided to slow a bit incase it ended in tears  :'(
By not pushing too hard, I had good consistency for a change;) with a very minor warning from my rear tyres exiting the Schumacher chicane where I skimmed the barrier costing about 2/3 seconds.
I was just catching Blaz and had about 5 minutes to go, when the race ended. Probably to most peoples enjoyment.  :P

Luckily I didn't have to out drag anyone as I had a very tall 6th gear with slightly reduced revs,(Note to self> check setup)

Well what a ragged performance that was from me, glad its over.  Qualed 8th I think, 2.5 secs of my PB, where has the time gone ?
Couldnt really put it together in the race, to many little mistakes but fortunatly only one off.
Appologies to the PaulW (I think) for tapping you, I think you were already going sideways and I just couldnt avoid you.
Finished in 4th which amazed me after such a poor overall performance.
Oh well on to the next one :)

Yea u too Leuven good job, cheque is in the post.. a lucky one two for CBFR - we could have driven to paddock in formation hehe. :D

For F550 7800 does 30 min, 7700 does about and hour and 7600 1h30+ before engine blows.

I'd like to see more moderation too, alot of folk speeding on pit lane and there's no harm in starting a traffic jam on pit exit if there's alot of hotlapping traffic.

Great finish in 2nd for me.. but alot of DNF's and I got to find more pace at Enna. Good run with you Truetom at start until your Lambo seemed to bottom out over kurbs and loose all grip. Had Zacuri behind me but I managed to stay 5 - 8 seconds ahead.  :)

Yeah, Rich, the car just lost the a$$ and went straight into the wall, engine blown, etc. Otherwise a good race, was 3rd at the time of my crash. Lambo is quite fast, but a bit unstable with Sharks setup. When I fixed the dancing a$$ it seemed to lose the edge so I decided to give it a try. Would have been ok if Rich wasn't chasing me. I had to push it and the result is known.  ;D

I had a good time tonight at Enna, scary circuit!

The Lambo is very fast and as wide as bus.

In WOSEC team LNR drove Lambourgini and their fastest driver was consistantly 1 - 2 seconds faster than me so I know that car is quick and he looked good doing it with their team livery.

no Leuven- Enna is one of my faves because it's so different in style :)

If it's the incident I'm thinking of Greg then, no worries. I was trying to leave a little space to my right in case you should need it after our little outbreaking competition. That new line screwed me up though and my wheel hooked into the sand and span me around. You couldn't have avoided me- glad you kept your splitter!

"Like" isn't really the word. We had a poll before Season 2 started on whether we should dump Enna as so many people complain about how evil it is, however, it's apparently that evil that keeps it close to our hearts as we voted overwhelmingly to keep it...

Well, I'm not as patient as you and also I stink at making setup - or I'm just lazy. Your monster setups are good enough for the race to be fun - and that's why I came here anyway. Just watch it when I grow up!  ;D
