I assume the last para really means to say 2 stops ala the rest!

Must say 2 stops is plain nasty ;)

Just testing Peter my good man ;)

Yeah the stops should mix things up a tad, particularly as the pit lane entrance is a bit vicious!

Apologies for the delayed announcement by the way people - been doing too much driving this week!

Legends or Advanced Legends? I'm guessing the latter.  I presume full course yellows WON'T be in effect - as and hour behind the safety car would be very dull :D

Ah yes, unless otherwise stated I always think of the Legends as the Advanced - what's the matter with you, not telepathic or something!?  ;D

As for the yellows - I'm yet to see them come out and I've been using them in pretty much every round. Not entirely sure what you would have to do to get the safety car out on track tbh but yes I'm going to leave them set to full course for the time being as I love the idea of everyone being bunched up at some point. If anyone knows how they work and fancies explaining it please feel free!

Full course yellows don't work on road courses.

HTH  ;D

Ah drat- I'm a big fan of the Legends cars on road courses, typical that I can't make this one as I'm at work

  That might explain it....

Yeah I have to agree Bernie, shame you can't make it - these Legends are great fun and I'm hoping on a big wide, smooth track with plenty of twists and turns there should be lots of space for overtaking!

That was awesome fun ... but it was Anything Can Happen Fridays ... and it did.

Had a nightmare mid race after a really solid start - then had a spin, pitted ... a couple of little offs ... got the 2nd stop out the way, never got in a rhythm again after that.  Oily got past me as I spun ... and then the missus was banging on the window as she forgot her keys so I quit back to the pits.

After that I didn't really feel like carrying on, but it was a hell of a lot of fun to drive before that.

Still - on the bright side ... it's a fun race, it's not like I had a decent finish in the Grand Am stolen from me.

Cheers to the brave few who were on track - a proper test of the driver to be sure - and your arms, the FFB is epic in those toy cars :D

Thanks James for hosting...

Great fun in spells.  Shame most of the time I was on my own...

No pit stop practise and a silly spin (while deselecting my tyres) made Dave's win look even easier..  Well done Dave.

Question...  Why did we need 2 pit stops?  In fact, why did we need any pit stops?  They spoilt what could have been a great race.  :-\

I quite enjoyed them - I knew the start was going to be a problem as I completely failed to practice it  and sure enough on slipping to 3rd by turn 1 I made the most of it and pitted immediately to get out onto some clear track and put some good laps in.

Stayed out until I was about to catch Adam and then did my second stop, putting me back onto a clear track. I kept pushing like mad and watched the gap slowly, slowly come down; with about 10 to go it looked like I might have as much as 12 seconds in hand after Darren's second stop, but with just 3 or so to go he lost it over the brow at the end of the lap which handed me a big lead all the way to the flag.

Pit stops can be good for longer races because they add an element of strategy into the race.  However, in my opinion they shouldn't be forced onto the driver, and they certainly shouldn't be be added just for the sake of it, because they nearly always interfere with the racing out on the track (the exciting stuff).  The second pit stop just wasn't needed...

You drove a great strategic race Dave and deserved to win.  However, if I had known before hand that the last 24 laps of a 30 lap race was going to be a hot lapping session I probably wouldn't have joined.  After all, this was meant to be a fun race.  ::)

P.S.  Thanks for the first 6 laps James.  Great fun while it lasted.  It's just a shame our battle didn't go on for longer.  :-\

You had control over that though - you could've reacted to each of my stops by pitting yourself on the next lap, which would've put you back on the track somewhere close to me. In fact, that would've been the logical thing to do, as you might have capitalized on your good start and stayed ahead. By staying out you put yourself out of contention.

Hear ya Darren, I'm definitely of the same view that racing on the track is the way to go but the idea was that this would throw more margin for error into the mix, hopefully ensuring some battles. As it was, I only caught out myself from the sound of things lol! I probably should have kept up the fight with you at the beginning but I realised we were slowing each other up and Dave was capitalising so I thought I'd see if I could encourage you into a stop and give myself a few laps to concentrate on some tidy laps instead of mirror watching while you thought about it before rejoining me.

It was a bit of an experiment but in the end I don't think it was the format that robbed you of some decent racing Daz, it was my driving basically! After the stops we came out of the pits within about 10 yards! I couldn't believe it, we'd been racing hard for a good chunk of laps (apologies for lack of accuracy - I never really know what's going on LOL) and then we both came out on the same stretch of black stuff to resume the battle. You always hope that's going to happen but it's rare for me at least - usually somebody's made a mistake along the line somewhere to create a gap.

Unfortunately as an example how not to race, not only did I have a little slide and get it on the grass at one stage, but I then proceeded to run out of fuel on the start/ finish, enter the pits backwards at well over the limit and then drive like a pratt for five laps, seeing off any chance you had of a race with me and all my good work!

Anyway hands up this evening chaps - should've announced the race earlier, 6 isn't enough and that was blatantly my fault which is a shame as I really do think this is a good combo. With so much room for error getting the power down, particularly in the slow stuff it really makes dicing fun as you both inevitably get excited but try to keep it neat.

I'm probably slightly biased but I actually enjoyed the 60 mins in any case, love this track and the car too at the right circuit. I saw some action with Dave, Darren and Adam at various stages (unlucky mate!) and God knows I need pit stop praccy for the enduros so it was mission accomplished on that front!

Thanks all for coming, nice to see Raimo join us from Adam's enduro league - new developments for ACHF in the pipeline....watcha dis space :).

Very true, I could have.  At the time I was having fun battling with James and I didn't want to throw that opportunity away.

From a purely selfish point of view, I wished you and James had stayed out on the track for longer before pitting.  It would have been a great tussle with the 3 of us fighting for position each lap.  Having said that, I fully understand why you did what you did.  In terms of winning the race you did the right thing.

Yeah, it was a pleasant surprise to rejoin the track just in front of you.  I was just gearing myself up for another battle when you threw your car off the track in a cloud of smoke. :o  ::) :(

Anyway, thanks again for hosting.  Hopefully these little battles between us will continue into season 5 (providing I can afford to pay Gary enough to keep his motec black magic to himself ;) )
