You'd have thought with my new found powers I would have seen that coming!  ;D

This will be the last ACHF before Christmas chaps given a week Friday is Xmas eve. It's also the last of the current format so watch this space (not this precise space) for details

Hope this puts a smile on your face this Christmas Sharky - no thank you letter needed but an indicative lap time would be useful...I don't think I'm quite on the pace yet LOL.

Yeah it's one of the few roundy roundys I own that didn't come free but it just had to be done!

If you've got all the road content but haven't got NHMS, I'd recommend popping that in your cart (think it's a paid for one anyway)!

I got all excited until I saw it was the road course and not the roundy-round circuit :(

Despite that, I'll try to make it, hopefully snow will scupper Mrs Pops plans for the weekend ;D

Hahaha no sorry Pops, you'll have to use both pedals for this one - I'll warn you now, rumour has it you'll need to turn the wheel left and right too so you make sure you're prepared ;)

I won't be wishing for more snow but I do hope you can make it :).

1:15's at the sharp end for race pace, perhaps getting into 1:14.

1:16.9 is my best so far, with the setup from HERE (http://www.podiumassault.com/setupgarage.php?vehicle=18&track=90). Doesn't feel good to me though, not comfortable with it so not quick with it either therefore.

I revise my prediction, don't think we'll see 14's.  I'm getting close to breaking into 15's but low to mid 1:16 is where I'm at now.

Well done chaps - setups always appreciated as is the indicative lap time!

Martin, shame on you.

What's with the new girly name Oily?

There's a distinct possibility I was SRou account raped....and by a Shark!   I feel dirty.

Thanks Paul but was deliberate this time - seeing as it's the last one in this format I thought I'd try and bump the numbers a little! Anything can happen and all that (the best get out clause ever).

Apologies in advance for the multi-car pile-up   ;D

ok. The 2 guys on there atm don't have much of a clue how to drive the Dallara I'm afraid! (apologies if anyone here is one of them, but they can't make it through a few corners without spinning).

Ah must be friends of mine. I've got the ability to remove anyone looking suspect come qually so I'll see how it progresses and boot whoever I need to.

More of a problem with a no-password server is the number of people that join, don't even do a lap and then retire, taking a potential spot for someone else, although I have a feeling the turnout might be a bit rubbish.

Down to a 1:15.7 now and I've shared a setup in game.

Gutted about the turnout, but as it turned out me, Paul H and Mike were very close in qualifying so made a race of it with us three at the front.

I absolutely adore that car. It's been a while since I've done any laps in it and it just all came flooding back. I think it's the only car in the game that I can really feel feeding the throttle in and feel the limit on the brakes. Seems a bit less knife-edge than before as it was fairly hard to throw it off without trying to be too eager with the throttle or throwing it around like a loonatic.

Shame that the car is mostly wasted in the public series with only a half and half series available as this car is made for road courses, such a waste to put it on an oval.

Anyway, to the race. Qualified on pole with the top three within a tenth of each other. But I was scared about making a pigs ear of the start and hadn't practiced it at all (plonker), so I put it in 1st and when the lights came I press the throttle pedal. Obviously a very slow technique and sure enough Mike and Paul went by before I'd even made it around the whole of T1. My brain for some reason hadn't engaged the idea of using the clutch pedal with it already in gear!

Matter not as I then got to chase Paul as Mike edged away in the lead. After a fair few laps I finally got close enough near the end of the lap and with the slipstream on the oval passed Paul into T1 around the outside as he went for the defenders line. After that I chased Mike, but he was just too quick for me. Closed a little in the pits, but not taking tyres seemed to hurt my lap times in the second stint and he edged away further into the lead.

Apart from one lap where I missed the braking marker for T1 and had to turn around at the cones I didn't have any spins or offs, so pretty pleased with that.

Awesome job on getting the length of the race correct almost down to the second Oily. It was 2407 seconds long so very close. ;D

Would have really fancied this but there was just too much going on tonight, and I'm still to get the 'pick up' call from the mrs who is out in town on her Xmas do!

Yeah I think it was just one of those nights, everyone's busy on the run up to Christmas, I don't think it was the car/ track combination but I never know these days!

Well I'm glad it was me and not one of you quick chaps that collected the turn 1 lap 1 incident - the gamble with no password for more numbers didn't pay off obviously! Bent my front wing and from that point on it was just a battle with understeer followed by faffing about in the pits and a tow.

Bit of a shame as I'd been running full fuel with Paul's kindly donated setup and I was feeling comfortable for a consistent race pace at least but it wasn't to be. At least I got the timing right, that can be the positive I take away from Indy.

Thoroughly enjoyed the car but while I liked the challenge of the Indy infield as something different, I reckon I'll enjoy it more on something a little more fast and flowing.

Anyway thanks those of you who came along - stay tuned for the new look ACH series!

Good race, shame about the low numbers, but I guess it's that time of year.

Missed out on pole by a hairs width, but I hoped I had a secret weapon  :P  When I set up my gears, I made sure to set 1st low enough to get a better standing start.  It could have been better still, but it worked OK.  Got up alongside Shark and beat him into T1.

He and Paul then stuck with me for a bit until we got about 10 laps in when they started to go backwards, my setup was staying very well balanced even on different fuel loads, so I pitted a bit early.  Fresh tyres and a top up of fuel and stayed ahead of Shark after he made his stop.  He was soon going backwards again and ended up so far back that I figured he hadn't changed tyres and was really suffering.

Woo  ;D

I enjoyed that, despite the low numbers. The Dallara now has some 'feel' to it so that you can start to hustle it a bit, but I have so much to learn to really get to grips with it - if memory serves me correctly, that was my first ever Dallara race. Mike in race trim was just too fast, and Simon also had a bit too much consistency for me. It was nice to match them (within a tenth anyway) in terms of pole and fastest lap, but more time and possibly a better understanding of setups are needed to keep the pace up. After Simon passed me I had 2 silly spins which were as much about losing concentration as anything else - I wasn't going to catch Simon and there was nobody within a lap behind me. My start was pants too Simon, I just stuck it down the inside and the guy who had been to my right seemed to fence you in a bit on the outside and offline. Nice pass in the end though to retake the position  :)  I'll know better next time that you might as well change tyres if you take fuel, as I lost a lot of pace after the stop and changing the tyres would only have cost a sec or 2 extra. Grats to Mike on the win - too good.

Would have been there but too much going on in the run up to Chrimbo, was out in Bath last night.
