Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=271&theme=5)
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Should be ok for this one  :)

The 904 is my favourite car of this bunch, so it's a no brainer for me here.

Thanks Tony. Hope I can make it (and if I do, I will not take the 904  ;) )

:) 904 seems the best choice mid 2's for me. Escort is nice but lacks power. Might try the Ferrari 250 tonight at the very least it will be fun!  ;D

Hope to join in an A110. No idea whether it is cometitive - that doesn't matter. I always fight for last  ;).

But at the moment I seem to have an unstable internet connection.
Hope that this will be better tomorrow.

See you guys.

Driving 906GTS/6, worked down to 2:8s  ;D after a long time trying to sorting out setup - couldn't find my earlier setup  ???, remember I practiced both versions for a race at Spa some time ago.

Bill, I think the 904GTS/4 is the faster car Bill although the 904GTS/6 has a higher top speed. Think I had 2:4's in the former.

Same here.

Car not present on server message.

Checked the server and the fva doesn't appear on the selection list, so I guess it must be linked with another car. Escort RS would be the obvious thought, but that's shown as being available.

Hopefully Tony will be along soon, if not I'll put all the cars on and see if that cures it.

Thanks Tony, luckily find the same setup works for both cars but brake and turn in points appear to be a little different.  Will see what gives later.

Right, own up. Who spiked my pre-race drink with acid? Apologies to any who got caught out by my stationary car. The trip came on suddenly and I lost all use of my limbs. Tried carrying on but couldn't see the edges of the track and when I got the third cut track warning I decided to give up and float off round the room.

I missed the start. Really stupid.

I was wondering why you showed as DQ so early in the race. I guess it's something we all do from time to time. Speaking of dumb errors I did my party trick of trying to pull away from the start before engaging 1st gear DOH! Sorry for anyone behind me who must have had to take avoiding action. Which leads me on to my narrow miss when I found Phil stationary on the start/finish straight. I must of done one of the longest broadside slides ever seen but fortunately did not hit anything solid and was able to continue undamaged. Otherwise it was a quiet race once I had passes the non-porsche drivers. Tried to catch Sandoor but although the gap closed to single figure I ran out of time and he triumphed.

Well done to everyone who didn't take the obvious choice of the Porsche. It was inevitable that one race would have only one really fast car left to choose. The next races will produce harder and possibly more varied fields IMO.

Geoffers is looking invincible now but we still have a long way to go so who knows. Hope he keeps the same form for next Tuesdays F1 race at Sepang  ;)

Thanks to everyone who took part, much appreciated guys. Hope you all had a good race.

That's the kiss of death on my chances then, lol.  ;D

Well that went well, I didn't expect to complete the race without an 'off' as I kept making mistakes in testing & qually, but somehow it all came together in the race. Followed Goldtop for a few laps at the start, had a couple of attempts at a pass but Goldie was a bit better on the brakes. About lap 8 Goldtop made a mistake at the esses (T6-7?) & I got ahead. Had to drive hard the rest of the race with Goldtop only about 2-3s behind, our laptimes nearly identical. Only in the last 3-4 laps did the gap widen to the 4s it was at the finish.

Congrats to Goldtop & Mark   & well done to all who didn't take the Porsche, it was clearly 2-3s faster than anything else.

Just a quick query on the results Tony, Sqter is shown in a TR4 & as a DNF. Didn't he drive an Escort?  & in my results he finished 6th.  ???

Nabbed pole and had a nice neat start off the line. Geoffers was behind me all the way in the opening laps and was threatening to have me into T1 on a couple of occasions. I was concious of his better speed through and off the final turns which put pressure on me to have a good middle section. Consequently I ran wide through the awkward T7 and he was through. Wasn't able to close the gap for the rest of the race and made a couple of small errors in desperation towards the end. Great driving Geoffers....I don't think I saw you make a mistake all race 8)

Looks like I'll have to find another car now.

Yeh, I thought that on the in-game results board at the end of the race he was shown as 12th, but when I ran Analyzer he was shown as 6th. Also I don't remember lapping him, unless he was off-track somewhere.

The race file produced by GTL was abnormally large with many, many duplicated errors. Dave had to spend time sorting it all out before we could publish the results. Sqter's entries were highlighted as being the most dubious and Dave has asked if there are any anomolies with the results as published.

If anyone spot's anymore errors please let us know in this thread. I will run the replay tonight (or over the weekend) to confirm.

Best result for me this season but a very lonely race.

I passed 2 guys who had an incident in Lap 1 and that was it. After 20 laps I was lapped by number 1 and 2 and for the rest nothing happened.
Gap in front of me was increasing by 1,5 secs a lap and the gap behind was pretty steady.

I hope for a bit more action in the next race, although it will probably end in tears  ;D

Sqter overtook me near the end, but it was showing him in 12th on his name tag.

Same here only 10 laps earlier.

:) Another great race for me, this can't last, Qualified P4 2.03 got a good start passing Legsy and closed right up on Geoffers.  ;D I could not quite understand why Geoffers was so slow on lp one and to be honest it threw me, do I  attempt a pass or not? Then on lap 2 he hit the grove and just buggered off into the distance,  ::) nice one mate and that was the last I saw of him and Goldtop. Congrats on your podiums guys.  ;D I then settled in to my some what slower grove and was soon hotly persued by my team mate Legsy  :) we were pretty much swapping places for the rest of the race (the best kind of GTL racing) Legsy was right behind me on the last lap and only a tenth begind on the line (top racing mate). Very pleased to get the last step on the podium, this championships hotting up nicely, great racing guys.  :)

Thanks Tony, good fun.  Decided on the 904GTS as you said it would be popular and like Matt wanted to drive it at lease once in the Series.

Practice went well, qualifying was disappointing but when I looked the car in front, Sandor, was about 2 sec quicker than my PB so it made no difference.  Tony gave me a touch of the OMGs at the start and he passed me when I went too deep into a corner and he sailed by.  After that I set a new PB chasing him and just about caught him up battling with Alex and slowing each other down.  Tony's pass was bit like a scene from "The Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift".  Tony then sailed off into the distance leaving me to try and get by Alex.  I think someone gave him a copy of the DVD for Christmas, I don't ever recall Alex driving like that before.  I spent a couple of laps trying to get by at the penultimate corner/last corner.  I think he was trying to block the track he had such acute drift angles.  Lifted first time to avoid hitting him and went off, caught up again and tried to go past on the inside without success.  Kept on his tail around the lap and the went for it from the penultimate corner and touched and spun him on the final turn sending him into the kitty litter.  Waited for him and crept away and after what seemed an age accelerated  up to speed found out at the end of the lap that he was still going but I slowly pulled away from him.

After a few laps on my own, I amused myself by trying to set a new PB then cut the penultimate corner lifted to get back on line and hit the wall - got a warning.  After that I tried to avoid doing it again and had a few offs on the outside of track and eventually had a big one allowing Alex through again.  Still it was good fun.

These results are from my local drive, including Sqter:

Bill, I hope that I didn't do anything naughty. Still haven't seen Vin Diesel exploring some parking lots in the far East; It was just silly me trying to get some speed out of the 275..
Tried to give you some room in the last corner but noticed too late because the 904 are such low cars; you simply disappeared from my rear view mirror  :-\

After the spin I got stuck in the gravel. BIG apology to the Porsche driver I gave a scare by spinning in the middle of the track. Had some trouble getting unstuck from the Spanish beaches  :-[

Nevertheless I enjoyed the race. Like to thank Bill and Eifelman for the competition, not always side-by-side but watching the gaps on the pitboard spurred me on!
Congrats to Geoffers for winning and my teamie for a solid race. I know your days are long and nights are short  ;) .

Thank you Tony for the car choice. Although not always evenly matched, I quite like wide selection including some new cars.

No Alex you were perfectly correct. you held your line and I had responsibility to make a clean pass.  I made three attempts on consecutive laps and failed.  On the final one I tried to run through the penultimate turn as fast as I could to get by in the final turn but misjudged the effect on my line and speed.  When you turned in my nose hit your Ferrari about the front edge of the door - clearly my fault, sorry.  I know I should have waited for you but I lost sight of you and didn't know what was happening so I waited a while and then started to creep away waiting for you to go by eventually I thought you might have quit so I continued.  Still you got the place in the end.

My reference to Tokyo Drift was merely my attempt at humour - to be honest I'm carp at drifting and wish I could do better.  Occasionally, on a day with the right car and track, I do a poor impression of drifting.

When you passed Alex into turn 1 and 2 - that's what it looked like from my car - perhaps I exaggerated a bit but you both looked like you were drifting in sync.  ::)

PS Having viewed the pass in overhead I was clearly wrong - it was a beautiful outbrake down the outside no drift what so ever.  :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Even Less Unofficial LapChart (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/GTL/BarcMar2011Local/)
Shouldn't that be the "Even More Unofficial Lapchart"? ;)

BIG apology to the Porsche driver I gave a scare by spinning in the middle of the track. Had some trouble getting unstuck from the Spanish beaches  :-[
No Problem, had to do a bit of a nervous swerve to be sure to avoid, but just added to the thrill of the event

and was soon hotly persued by my team mate Legsy  :) we were pretty much swapping places for the rest of the race (the best kind of GTL racing) Legsy was right behind me on the last lap and only a tenth begind on the line (top racing mate).
Yes, another very very enjoyable outing in GTL again (when we going to upgrade to weekly races? :P)
Had a superb race with my new team mate Mark C. I think we were pretty even round most of the course, but a couple of corners particularly I had a decent advantage (particularly the final couple of turns & the one leading onto the back straight where the 2nd time check point is) & there was that one left-hander just after the first time check point that he was stealing a ton of time on me every lap >:( :D.
Anyway, it all led to some great driving, racing & overtaking. Mark just didn't read the team orders memo before the race obviously :nono: ;)

p.s. I've avoided the obvious car choice in the 1st two races & stuck with the Porka in all three events. I'm the only driver to have used the Porka in all three events & think that my loyalty to it should be rewarded with a final drive in it (for me only) at the next event. What say you Tony? :whistling: :ninja: :shifty:

Even Less Unofficial LapChart (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/GTL/BarcMar2011Local/)

Glad you posted that - the server was utterly convinced that he was in the TR4 - no wonder it failed to record any of his laps (and wrote something like 20 megabytes of junk in the results export!).

Hopefully the results are now correct.

Shouldn't that be the "Even More Unofficial Lapchart"? ;)
You're quite right. I've used a double negative

Glad the results are all sorted now (although it costed Da GD Club dearly).

Didn't expect that the A110 was so much uncompetitive, but race was fun but a little
bit confusing due to Sqters positions displayed on my table.
Behind me on the grid (no quali time), in a displayed first place during the first lap but behind me
in reality (sorry for holding you up due to my first turner of the race. Didn't expect you there due
to the displayed first position) then one lap behind me and so on. But luckily all has been solved now.

Had a quiet race in last position always trying to pay attention to the faster guys lapping me.
Was able to improve my personal best about 1.5 seconds, realized during the last few laps
that Bill was getting slower and tried to catch him right
before the finish line but during the last lap I had another turner.
So last - but finished.

It's the taking part that counts!

See you next time.

Of course you can Mark.

If you wish to race, just leave a post on the thread at NG.
