Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) Driver lists can be found on the Championship standings page (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=271&theme=5)
(4) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

A power circuit like this should make it a Ferrari fest but could the Aston's gatecrash?

This is the old A1 ring right? If so, I like that difficult chicane at the end of the pit straight and the tough slight left in the brake zone at the end of the 2nd long straight.

The difficult chicane didn't appear until 1977 Mike.

Thanks Tony.
Was expecting Aston to be on it here, but I am two secs slower in it than Either Ferri.
Merc could be very close but is quite a different beast, if you can keep the
momentum through the turns it is almost as quick as the 275.

Well my Ferri times at Misano were goldfish, so maybe I just don't get them.....
Can go faster, only did a few laps in each, and managed 7.9 in 250 or 275
8.9 in Merc, and 10.2 in Aston. NOt tried Squealey or TR4 which are likely
to be easy in the corners, but will lose out on the straights big time.

EDIT:
Had another go...

Aston  2:06.5
F250   2:07.7
Merc   2:08.7

That was frustrating, it appears something has changed in GTL since I last used my dedicated UKGTL install.  All i got was 'Game not available. Host may be running an updated version' or something like that.  Tried my Altbierbude install which is moderately up to date with all the auto-patching it does, and that would at least join, but of course no point actually loading track as its missing all the UKGTL skins.

So I desperately tried to cobble together a working install but clearly something was wrong, it loaded Imola so I guess wrong Zeltweg version.  Darn, its a track I know well and one of my favourite cars so I thought I'd give it a go - got straight down to low 4s in a few laps refamiliarisation and was hoping for mid to low 3s.  I guess I am destined to remain in retirement.

Good race. decided to use higher than ideal gearing to make sure i had fuel, and to make the rears last a bit more
as with optimum gearing the rears got chewed up quite fast, even though I could go a little faster
i thought I should play the long game, and it seemed to mostly work.
Had some superb tussles with Mark C and GT for a while, until GT stuffed it into the inside wall and bounced off
the fence onto my nose as I tried to avoid. lost a lot of the fun after that, as it was then chase Mark, and
gradually catch, then he froze mid corner, and rematerialised behind me where he stayed to the end
was holding at around 5-6 secs but I think he must have had an off as it leapt up to 17 secs with only
a few to go, so cruised to the end. Great pace from Henry in the 275, and Navin for keeping his Aston
12 secs or so in front up to the end.

:) Qualified P4 on a full tank due to Sandor making my screen flash but did not want to pull out at this stage so just stuck with it.
Rubbish start dropping to around p6 ish? Than managed to pull back and had a truly awesome battle with Goldtop and Phspok. Goldtops Healy was faster in places but just did not have the legs down the straights and slipstream as he might he just could not quite pull it off relying on Phspok and I cocking it up in the turns as we fought wheel to wheel. This is the best kind of racing guys many thanks. I eventually got a break on them and eased a gap out but unfortunately my PC froze/black screened mid corner I hit the brakes and luckily found myself just off track when it came back on.  ::)  :-\ Still don't know whats causing this its strange!!

Any way this gave Phspok the break he needed and try as I might I could not close the gap again and pushing to hard spun into a left hander. Settled for P4 and much needed championship points. Well done podium guys.....great race.  ;)

Yeah...I was kinda...driving the wrong way after the race finished. Sorry. :-[

To be honest I hate that car, and I hate that track. So not a particularly enjoyable race for me, despite the scraps.

Was really enjoying that. I think the first time I've raced the Healey and was a lot nicer than I remember it. Great racing with Mark and Matt as we contested 3rd place for 10 laps or so. I was just able to hang onto the back of the Astons down the straights when I could get in the tow, which allowed me to battle it out in the corners. Excellent close quarters racing chaps  8)

Unfortunately I went in a bit deep to the right hander at the end of the straight, hit the outside armco and then skewed it into the inside armco...not very clever  ::) Even worse, I stalled it and had to restart. With only one way to go, I looked left and went but nearly took out both Eifelblitz and Tibs who must've wondered what the blazes I was doing  :-[ :-[ Very sorry for that both  :( Car was very wayward after that and I understeered into the outside of the last bend and did one of those strange nosedives  ??? and decided to hit esc before I got in someone elses way.

Must try harder next time!

No practice time for here, but I've had enough laps here in the past with GPL and Nascar 4 to at least know where the track is going and where the pitfalls are. So I thought I'd be ok for the race.. Was a surprise to be on pole ;D GTL...like riding a bike  Had a good start. Henry and I quickly got a decent gap. Henry was all over me and after a couple of mistakes he got by but I was able to stay with him and then Henry had a couple of small mistakes and I was able to get back by.. He was right back on me and shortly after passed me again..  I was then able to get a good run exiting turn 1 and we were side by side entering the left hander going up the hill I wasn't sure if I had cleared Henry so I left room but dropped my left side on the grass and slide into the barrier.. Actually got on top of it like a skateboard grinding on a rail.. Amazingly I only lost a coupe of seconds with that and was able to get on with the chase again..  Shortly after that Henry was pulling away from me as I just couldn't keep the pace anymore as the Aston started to wear out.. Was able to drive to 2nd place from that point.. Had great time racing Henry again as we haven't had many chances this year for that.. Big congrats to Henry for a well deserved home track win ;) Grats also to Matt for his solid 3rd place finish. Was nice to run GTL again as it just feels like home..  And a big thanks to Tony as always for keeping GTL going :thumbup1:

Rather a quiet race for me which yielded on of my best results. Was going to take the Volvo but panicked when I worked out that it's fuel tank might not see me to the end without a top-up. Then spent the remainder of praccy choosing an alternative drive. Settled on the Ferrari 250 and then spent what was left of praccy and most of qually setting her up and test driving her with a full tank to get used to the handling and braking. Realised that a steady Eddie approach was called for with lot's of early braking, smooth entry's and fast acceleration out of turns, and for the most part this worked well. I had only a couple of minor armco rubs.
Race started and passed Bill and Sandor early on (after they had collided?). Soon caught Alex and passed him too. Then it was catch-up time to reel in Tibs and Eifel who looked to be in close company with each other. But for most of the race they kept the gap between me and them. Near the end I finaly passed Eifel who was on his roof! More than enough laps to catch Tibs I thought and spent the remainder of the race trying dam hard to go faster than him. He did at on point seem closer but soon sped off again. I had settled for 6th place when I passed Tibs who had obviously had some drama as he was recovering on the grass. Three laps to go keeping Tibs about 3 secs behing me and a nice 5th place.

Thanks to everyone who turned out. If you had a good time and you havent donated, please think about doing so willya?

Cheers

Tony

First apologies to Sandor for collision - on right hander, first lap.  My different driving style and setup means at times I fail to realise just how much drift you other guys achieve with new tyres.  My eventual pass was more what I expected, you started to drift wide and I was able to drive inside you and complete overtaking manoeuvre.

Having made my apologies, thanks Tony for organising the event; I really enjoyed driving through from last and gradually closing the guy in front down and then battling for the place.  First Sandor, then Alex and finally SpecialKS (aka Eifelblitz).  The last battle got very untidy as we both had Ferrari 275 GTB/Cs using the same gearing, striving to brake later and use the full track width,  with me trying different lines to get the lead.  We both had wheels on the grass and a few “gentle” nudges of the Armco, finally with just over a lap left I out braked myself into that open left hander, sharp right hander and spun backwards into the Armco, Stalling my engine and losing about 10 secs, leaving Eifelblitz a comfortable drive to the end.

First time I’ve driven the Ferrari in anger and very pleased with the result, using a slightly modified Legzy setup.  Yes Tony I would like an Alfa/Tina race here also.

Was a real fun race.
Had a lot of fun with Tibernius over more than one half of the race.
Great fights - thank you Sir!
Then I made my only (!) big mistake, cause my tyres were down, landed on my roof  :sweatdrop:
and Tony could pass me.
At the end of the race I had to fight more and more with my tyres and had to look
at my fuel consumption. Bill one or two seconds behind me could go faster but obviously he made a
mistake and I could reach seventh place on my latest drop of fuel - now sixth due to Tib's DQ  ???.

Finally found the problem with the 'Host may be running an updated version' warning.  The .GDB files in the Gamedata directory need to be in lower case for Windows 7.  What a stupid error.  Guess that comes from this being an old install under Windows XP since then sticking 7 on the system partition.  Probably a fresh install would have been fine.

Maybe I will try to join some races again.....:)

Nope, changed my mind again. I think I'll do a whole series of shadow races where we can repeat the WPC tracks but with Lotus Cortina's, Alfa Romeo's and Ford Mustangs. That will give us a GTL race every Monday night. You should have the tracks installed from the previous week and the cars are all standard.
