Cheers Mark and apologies Jasper, think there was an issue with that image host. Have switched to a different one now, can you let me know if you still have problems seeing it?

Can you explain how your planning on running this Oily? The race of champions is normally an ellimination contest with the winner of a best of three going through to the next round.

It's just based loosely around the idea Spanner - I'm fresh out of indoor stadiums too I'm afraid :D

It's 8 sprint rounds where drivers get to race a different car each week but in a championship format - it's basically a nice excuse to use some of the cars lots of us have sat collecting virtual dust and I'm using the same scoring system as we do in the sprints...more details on the series home page.

I've staged the whole thing to get you to renew your iRacing membership - no pressure ;)

Nah, my peerblocker was blocking the host. It's working now as well though, no need for apologies

I'd like to add that this looks like great fun, can't wait!

First time I think I've tried the Mustang properly.  Really good fun round here - very surprised!

I hope there's a decent grid tomorrow!

Blinding to hear Ross - I really like it too although I'll be needing some more practice tomorrow before I see any pace, at the moment it's just lots of sideways action and grinning.

Giz I'm in the same boat as you mate but when I get something resembling a setup - tomorrow early avo hopefully, I'm happy to share!

Thanks again for starting the practice server Adam, much appreciated!

Thank god that's the Mustang out of the way, that had to be the most boring race I've been in right up until I crashed.

The car is so lifeless and unresponsive, I'm starting to hate it.  If iRacing release any more cars like this I won't be buying them.

Well I'm battling with a wrist injury sustained in Rugby training and also I hate Sebring.

Couldn't keep up with anyone really due to the pain. Quit with about 3 laps left.

In my opinion, the races need to be a bit shorter. But thank you for hosting James.

Never turned a wheel in that car/track and only ever done two races in the Mustang before anyway. Didn't get there in time to do anything but a warmup lap in practice and then straight into qually, where I ended up half way up the grid.  :o :o :o

Had a great race with Raimo, but realised about 65% through the race that I would not have enough fuel to finish (thanks Oily! :P :P). Anyway, faffing about with F displays whilst wondering what to do let Raimo back through and once that happened I realised there was no point in fighting back and decided to start trying to save fuel. The last two laps I really really slowed down and coasted over the line with 0.1 gallons remaining *phew*.

Quite enjoyed the car/track/racing. Although it's not my favorite car it's better than quite a lot of the other road cars. I thank the great shark in the ocean that we're not doing the Lotus 79, Legends, Solstice or Jetta, as they are just diabolical cars. I'll think about doing the Skip Barber, but it will be a crash fest and I need oodles of practice just to keep the car on the road. One of my least favorite cars.

After finally getting back behind the wheel tonight for the first time in ages I thought I'd practice for next weeks endurance event only to notice Oily had lined this up (sorry for not paying proper attention  :wetfish:)

I thought I'd have a crack although I'd only managed 2:27's in practice.

Super racing throughout, a great stint at the start with Pete and Robin then I started to realise some guys wouldn't make it if they listened to Oily so I kept plugging away for this to happen on the last lap;

Hey I didn't say it would be enough for you - I calculated it for me  ;D.

Bizarrely I had a lap's worth in hand!? I was short shifting in a couple of places to avoid wheelspin and it obviously made more difference than I realised!

Anyway thanks for coming along all - appreciate the support for the first round. I've never been a fan of the Stang but around here I really started to enjoy it I must admit, there was a good feel on the limit even if it does understeer to buggery ;D. Sorry you had to leave btw Robin - lets hope you're on form for the next one and that is hard luck Ian!

Grats to Mr. Miles - just ran away with it to the tune of over 20 secs by the end but was still fun with Dave keeping me honest for the first part at least. Nice to have had the chance to see what the Stang drivers will be going through too for next week's enduro.

1 down 7 to go! Next up, a taste of something completely different with the Skippy @ Mid Ohio   :fencing:

but realised about 65% through the race that I would not have enough fuel to finish (thanks Oily! :P :P).

It wasn't Oily's fault you made the front end even less aerodynamic than it started out. :P

Bit of a dull race in the end for me - despite being the only person to get two cracks at a qualifying lap I couldn't get a good one in and ended up 4th behind Mike and Oily (and Adam, but that was no surprise :D ).

A good start slotted me into 3rd in T1 and after that I was keeping up with Oily okay whilst in his draft, a little quicker in a few corners, until after a few laps I made a little mistake in T15 and he was able to break the tow; after that I was powerless to stay with him as he eeked out a tiny gap.

Was a bit worried that Mike might find some extra oomph until he spun; after that I had a very lonely race, watching the fuel (I started on the same as Oily but had only half a lap left at the end).

Well done to Adam on yet another untouchable win.

Looks like it was a fun one.  I could have made the race, connecting a minute or two before qually started ... but decided against it - even though I'm quite familiar with the car and the track ... just not in combination.

Assuming the diary is clear I'll be making the Skippy race, been a while since I raced that one :)

Great fun race... apart from taking Ross and Oily's suggested fuel level which left me spluttering into the pits a lap before the end.... :'( :'(
My own stupid fault!  ;D
