No, you have to keep turning left until you make the right turn.     ::)

...or you can enter the turns backward.   ;D

Might have to try and make this - I like the track, but haven't really had any time in the car.

how the hell do ya get these things to turn right?

tried levelling out the set-up, goes round left turns at a "very slow speed" :-\  but still can't get it round right turns other than at 10 mph :)  :-\

and is the steering a rubber band or something ...............it's awful :-\ ;) ;)

any info would be helpful

Setup in the Team Shark garage (http://www.teamshark.org.uk/Pages/Setups.aspx) - basically you max out the caster and roll the brake balance waaaaay back. Slow in, fast out, don't get greedy on the throttle - it's no Late Model, you can't ride the power out of a corner in the same way.

Only an American would have the nerve to call this a racing car.  ::)

My parents have a canal boat, it turns in sharper, rolls less and is only marginally outdone in the oversteer stakes lol

Despite all that, I kinda like it in a rough and ready sort of way.  Should be a blast to race.

Yuk, what an awful car. No brakes, no power, no grip, no turning ability, should be re-titled demolision derby. :-\

With that sort of comment, you'll be lucky if I don't nail your car into the barrier at T1, that's assuming IndyCars at Long Beach on the box isn't more of a draw than driving this gawd awful thing.

Had friends round so missed my practice time for this other than a few laps.  Seemed like pretty good fun to drive though - still getting to grips with using an H shifter and clutch at the moment anyhow.

Hope it was a good race!

Cheers, Ross.

not up to it guys sorry had a bad few days, not even fired up any engines in iRacing today at all, so no practice in the car since the other day which was a disaster  :-\

Sorry I missed this - in some ways.

Mental combination, but fun in a twisted way.  Last nights praccy sesh was fun, and had I been back in time this evening I would have run it.  Ah well.

See you guys who couldn't make it at the next one hopefully- Ross you're a brave man using the H-Shift, sequential was lively enough! I'm guessing you were using it too were you Raimo??

Anyway cheers for that chaps, really enjoyed myself tonight throwing that thing about. Shame about the couple of silly errors or it might have been a little closer but have to take hat off Dave, not a bad pace for fuel conservation mode! Good drive John too for second, just couldn't make inroads on that rather large gap unfortunately!

Results and standings up - Dave would you mind adding the Street Stock to the car list please, just used the dummy one for now. Hoosier isn't there as a tire brand either so I've set it to Pirelli as it seemed appropriate given the way mine melted!

Hope it was a good race!

It was for me. :w00t: Hadn't done more than a dozen laps before tonight, just enough to check out a road setup off the forums and make sure I had the controls set up right (I don't use the H-pattern in the synchro cars - I find the G27's clutch and shifter so unrealistic that I hate using it, I'd rather take the performance hit of auto clutch and auto blip and have a car I can drive consistently).

First thing I did in practice was to get a fuel consumption number, so I could concentrate on practicing on full race fuel. Gradually I honed the setup until I managed a lap under 2:01; I was pretty chuffed with that - trust James to come along and slash another half a second off it.

I figured that with fuel removed I'd be sure of a front row slot, but I fluffed my second lap whilst heading for a 2:00.5 and ended up where I expected - second on he grid - but for the wrong reason, as Oily had nailed a good one and James could only manage 3rd.

Start was okay but I couldn't make the inside line into T1 pay and had to settled into second. James was kind enough to muck up the end of his first lap though which gave me a great run on him down the front straight, allowing me to take the lead on the second circulation. I didn't take Oily long to have another moment which dropped him back to about 10 seconds, but James B was still there 2-3 seconds back, and I know how quick he is over a race distance in these oval sleds, so it was a huge relief to see him slide of in T1 a few laps later.

That left me a reasonable gap to maintain without destroying the tyres - I was especially worried about the rears - but after about a third of the race was gone I checked the fuel usage and was alarmed to discover that my initial fuel estimate was one click short. I started trying to save fuel and watching the gap, but luckily for me, the James twins both had further dramas, dropping them out of contention, and leaving me with a nice 10 second gap to Bernie that I could manage whilst saving fuel. I had to keep saving for the remainder of the race, just popping a couple of moderately quicker laps in at the end once I was absolutely sure of making it. As it was I crossed the line with 0.9 litres left - enough for about a third of a lap. :o

Well done to Bernie for second - nice to see the top two were also the only zero incident points. Crime does not pay! :whistling:

What a numpty I am..   ::)

Race started well and I tucked in behind the front 3.  My plan was to try to stay in touch while trying to look after my tyres...  This plan soon changed when I took too much kerb through turn 4.  This sent me flying into the wall, badly damaging my front left suspension. :'(

If the turnout had of been higher I would have quit.  But I thought I owed it to the others to try to continue even though my car now wanted to ignore any right turns.  :helpsmilie:

With Jamie just up the road and Raimo just behind, I drove my ass off for the next 14 laps.  Eventually Raimo got the better of me.  I think he would have passed sooner but he was ultra cautious when trying to pass me.  Looking at the replay I'm not surprised.... Every right hander (which there are many) my car became a trike.  The front right wheel would lift off the ground, lock up, then drag itself along the floor.  I can only imagine what Raimo was thinking...  He probably thought he was following a Red Arrows display team. ;)

Eventually my front right gave way to the abuse ending my race with 4 to go...

Congrats to the Podium and thanks to everyone that turned up...

Sorry chaps I was away over the w/e and although I was back fractionally before the race start time, however never having run this car meant a no show. Should be around for the next one again.

Was good fun even though I havent practiced a single lap   as I bought the track...  2 min before joining you guys

I had some laps in and didn't want to risk getting in the way of anybody so I quitted early.. but I'll definately train for the next one !

I must say that I'm hooked again to iRacing and every other sim feels very old now  :'(

Crime does not pay!

Yeah Jamie - shame on you  ;D.

What sort of times were you doing in the Late Model around here Dave - found it hard to grasp quite what the speed difference was??

This thing's found a special place in my heart already I have to admit, just love the fact it needs to be hustled - constant inputs needed although i think three hours straight of practice killed me for the race as my concentration was terrible. Note to self, stop for a bit next time!

Should have said before but thanks to..well...pretty much everyone for good dices at some stage throughout the sessions!

For anyone who hasn't tried this car yet - you MUST do a few laps with a reasonable setup, it's brilliant. You'll definitely be seeing more of it!

Best lap from the ORO race in the LM was 1:47.333 - the ACHF race we did was also in the 47s - and I'd expect to be a little quicker now as those times were done before the tyre damping change. So, most likely 15s a lap faster.

I still have a smile on my face when I think of this race. lol
This car was very fun to drive. Yeah with H-patern a lot of things went wrong. Missed gears on up and down shifts, but when I got it right I missed the blip and all sorts off things could happen. That's why I was so scared when trying to pass Darren, but at least for me I had a blast.

Hope to race this car again soon
