Count me in. Don't forget to include the Healy in the allowed cars list though Shark! :)

I'll be there ;D. Got to say this class is far more fun than the 76's, just far more forgiving on the edge.

I will be there this time  ;D please let me know if i am warping at all as that is what stopped me from running GTR.

Only thing is i will be in a Austin Healey 3000

The upgrade should sort it out tho.

Well that cars is absolutely horrid, and the track is stupid with its "cut track". Could not believe it.

Sorry Leuven and Jamera (I think) who I arsed up one run on qual for.

That was great fun while it lasted, but guess who put in 14 litres of fuel instead of 14 laps worth? Doh.

(Sorry BigG if I messed up your race when I half spun when the car started coughing.)

Fantastic fun that! Single make racing is the future! Really close, hard racing and had a superb battle after an early spin in the mid pack. Managed to work through and pull away a bit of a gap to 7th for the last 6 laps or so and had a great time chucking the thing into the corners. Was entering the Mercedes complex and flicking the wheel harder and harder on the fast right to see how much sliding and smoke I could create. Didn't like the Healey before tonight but have a new found respect for it after seeing how well it responds to a bit of harsh (but fair) treatment ;) Felt a little like the Escort in the '76 range for chuckability ;D

I love the Healy - was sliding all over the place but they are so catchable. Great fun powersliding out of the last turn every lap leaving a huge cloud of smoke behind.Qualified 8th, finished 4th, same as last race. Had a good battle with Picnic for the entire race, but he was always a little bit faster.

We had some warp during the race. I passed a virtually stationary Rich_A at one point (on my screen anyway), but half a lap later he suddenly appeared a few seconds in front of me. Also saw Leuven stopped in the middle of the track a couple times, I went flying off avoiding him. Will be interesting to see what the server replay shows.

I had some odd bugs tonight. During quali my time remaining indicator timed out from start and before start of race my timer suddenly shot from 20 to 1 sec to go. So I shot onto grid only for my start countdown to be out of sync with everyone else. It looked like everyone shot off when my countdown was on 3 and I dropped to back of grid.

Race was great fun. The funniest moment being Paul's flashing lights overtaking manoeuvre and the fact it actually worked. All rounded off with edgy last lap with Mark that inluded some lighting up of the rears to cloud his view.

Sooner the season starts the better.

Single class racing rules!  ;D

I'd never even driven the Healey before that but it's a very fun car to drive.  One quali lap I was paying too much attention to people's names in the pitlane, suddenly missed my braking point, so I downshifted and threw the car in hoping to scrub the speed off sideways - full opposite lock and it held a treat!  No way on earth that's doable in GTR.  (laptime was pants mindyou, but the car was still in one piece!)

Quali'd in 2nd behind Leuven (as ever!), just couldn't get into the 2:05's however hard I tried.  Then got swamped into 5th off the start, had a great few laps trying to fight back into 2nd which was very very fun in identical cars.  Finally managed it but was about 8 secs behind Leuv, then after avoiding a couple of stationary Leuvens (one on the main straight/curve, the other parked right in the hairpin), and missing my braking point into the hairpin after someone removed the 200m board, finished about 13 secs back.  Definately better racing in single class, actually having a fight for position lasting a few laps rather than a few corners is awesome!

Hope there's more fun races like this in the future, especially in the non-gtc76 category.

Lol m8- I wish I could say I actually intended that! The left and right hat switches fire on and off really rapidly when I use them. Have the HUD and lights mapped to them and it means I have to hammer away a few times before it actually sticks. Must get that delay thingy assigned to them soon  ;D

Totally agree Zacari- I haven't tried them all yet but, for me, it's the most sideways car in GTL so far  8)

Thoroughly enjoyed the foray, yes single make is great. in GTR i was last usually and all alone , but last night was in a fight with other cars most of the time.
Like some of you i had 5 mins in the car prior to the start of practice and had rarely raced on that track.
4 secs off of Leuv s pace but still a 2.09 was a good starting point.

Got too many penaltys for alleged corner cutting, the last was when i ran wide going too deep into a corner . then forgot rev limiter in the pits and got another . so now being last by miles i left as i was tired from work but it did bring a smile to my face.

 ;D :)
Overall great car to drive the Healey and produces closer racing in one make form.

Replay from last night's race is here (http://ukgtl.simracing.org.uk/Hockenheim%20GP%20-%20Fun%20Race%20051125.zip)

Was fun, I had driven the Healy at the Spa endurance race we did but I'd not driven the full GP track until last night. Was a good race, I was not quick enough to keep up with the guys infront of me but everything I made a mistake there was Aagramn back on my rear bumper. Brakaing for the hairpin was very unnerving, I seemed to have to brake much earlier and was losing a stack of time there. May have been the concertena effect but it didn't feel that way  :o

I had the stationary Leuven too ! Have to see what the replay shows. May have been Shark on the server as VNC can steal upto 30% of the CPU, but if this is the case when we were probably down to 10 runners doesn't bode well for large grids. We will see, roll on the patch.

hi guys sorry if i was a bit wild but it took me back to 1984. trouble was we were on very big sticky slicks and these iron tyres are nothing like i was used to for real. hope i did not upset to many drivers.car sounds a bit flat but may still be on su carbs. on triple webbers they are really noisey. the cam in the from special tuning if it was a works car would have pulled from about 2500 to 5800. i think the power should drop off alot after this as the engine actually was from a small lorry and was not very sophisticated. the older healys were a bit more like the mga with a lighter engine. bye for now gerald

They're probably subject to onerous noise restrictions these days. ::)

My dad built an mga mk2, was a great little car..

An ok race, damn good start from the front runners. I seemed to fall back a little and then kept same distance with two drivers behind keeping pace about 1000 meters behind - great atmosphere. Saw one or two stationary cars but no lag.

Glad to hear that as i would not have been suprised if i had lag, the hairpin is a bit hairy i was braking early as i had gone very wide in praccy and did not want to ruin anyone elses race. heres to sideways motoring again  ;D
