I hope to see you for round 2 of the Super GT500 championship. :)

Note the early evening virtual start time. This is to make the track more interesting to drive (as we have done it many times) NOT more difficult to drive.

There is some heavy sun light at that time but, it is almost set (you will only see it for the first 20mins or so) and does not affect the view of any of the corners.

Isnt Japan "Land of the Rising Sun" ?.....not setting sun  ;)  ;D

Were any of the euro spec GT cars in this pack competitive? Forgotten. The Jap cars just dont do it for me.

Going to be tricky round here. Softs are far faster but how long will they last? Low 54's with softs and 50L

53s and 52s for some people. I'm in the 53s my self. :)

I did have a very big drop in frames per second when I raced off line with a full grid and a standing start. It was back up again after the field had spread out. With a rolling start, it will help a little but, some people may need to reduce settings a little. I recommend light effects no higher than medium and if you need to improve the frame rate then turning down the shadows and shadow quality should be the first thing you look at other than light effects (light detail, or what ever its called in game).

See you all in the race. :)

After watching a hot lap replay of myself I noticed that I was cutting the last left curb of the chicane leading to the start/finish straight without realising.

Watch out for that. 2 wheels inside the white lines at all times please. We were all very well behaved at Melbourne. Lets have more of the same tonight gents. :)

For what is probably my favourite track & using cars that I'm really enjoying, I just didn't get to grips with that ???

Think I'd have finished 6th/7th tonight, but ran a fraction wide through that 'almost flat out 2nd last turn' & as I put the power back down while on the kerb.... night night :'(

Made the same mistake as Legzy, only in 10th minute of the race. ::) Damaged car meant I was losing 5 sec per lap but I didn't want to stop just for repairs and continued up to the 40 min to go. Then I was driving with a good pace (for me) ::) and caught Ade with 20 min to go. My tyres were worn by then, approaching 20. Couldn't catch him and in overdriving I clipped the curb and spun into the barrier. :-\

Nice track, but I never really score here. Was a bit faster with F550 but Jap cars are much easier to (over)drive, so... :)

Shame about your tyres though SBG ???

Not sure of its this mod or the x2 wear but, for me, the tyre wear model was just good grip then poor grip. I didn't feel any degradation at all and its just took me by suprise. I'll be waiting next time :)

Throughly enjoyed the racing. Good close battle with Hal and Lazlow where all of us made mistakes whilst leading. Then, they ironed out the mistakes and left me behind. Congrats to the nasty men  :)

The mod provides good close racing, simples.

Oh, it was 2x tyre and 2x fuel !  :o
Took hards all round for 1st stint with half a view to not change, was wondering why they seemed to wear as fast as meds... took a late stop (It's nice to lead the race even for a couple of
laps  :D ) then took meds to see if I could keep up with NSfast, who I managed to get in the way
of for a while. Your braking was wayyyy later than I could manage, and your speed through 130R
and the final chicane seemed a lot quicker too. What tyres? I came out of the pits just as Spanner
and NSfats went by, was gaining on them a bit, but kept putting wheels off and eventually fell
back. Good racing, these Japs are manic to drive, I like the mod.

Great race, great cars, great track last night  ;D

Some excellent racing with Matt, Ade and TT in the first half and spanner and Matt in the second half. All very close with very little mistakes. The grids may be a little smaller these days but the quality of the racing is still excellent.  :)

I was on meds all round Matt.  :) I didn't notice you braking a lot earlier than me. The difference in our lap times was mainly due to me carrying more speed throught 130R.

Not being a fan of downforce I did enjoy this 8) a very frantic drive,

First a sorry to TT for the hit at the hairpin :-[ totally missed my brake point, Was fun till the pitstop when i got a stop

go for speeding ??? don't know why? i was early on the limiter at the overhead banner well before the line.

Nice stuff H@l thanks for organising the fun.

                                                               Cheers Ade

Surprised myself with qually, sitting right behind the top aliens then it looks like i have Matt to thank for holding up nsfast in the first half of the race as i had a quiet race in the first half. Even contemplated leaving the tyres on before the stop but common sense prevailed, stopping just after half time. Came out and saw nsfast had got past matt and realised i was going to be under pressure towards the end and managed to stay ahead, which might have been because of some lairy moments trying to stay ahead!

Fantastic race. :)

I had Lazlow and Ginsters applying pressure right from the start. We took it in turns to make mistakes and Lazlow was just in front of me when we both pitted at the same time, half way through the race. I had to drive quite close and tight around Lazlow to get to my pit as he was in the box just before mine. I took on fuel and changed both sets of hard tyres. I could not have made mediums last.

Lazlow exited the pits before me and by the time I was back on the track he had an 8 second lead. I tried not to let the gap get any bigger and was just about holding on for a while.

Lazlow then had an incident that gave me the lead back. We had a close chase to the end after that and were very close on the last lap till Lazlow went do or die at 130R...  ;D

Thanks all, see you next time. :)

I saw this post and thought everyone was gonna go with softs, looks like I was the only one that did. Spanner is  cannier than I thought ;)

Only place that NSfast seemed later on the brakes was into final chicane, but it seemed a LOT later
maybe you were just better at riding the kerbs and didn't need to anchor up as much as I did.
If I went in any faster I spun in prac. Took team leader's advice on wing settings (though I was away
hence no response) hard rears would have easily lasted the race, but the fronts would have been canvas
Tried not changing tyres in Aussie, but I lost more time in the 2nd half than the tyre change time
The hards didn't seem much slower than meds, but on reflection I probably should have stopped
at half way and used meds for both halfs.

I usually use meds. Hards only in case of need of handling the tyre temps. Can't remember to see hards last any longer than the meds. :)

Mediums all round for me....worked like a charm ;)
As for braking into the last chicane.....a little tip that helped me during the 24hr race we did a few weeks ago, is not to brake too hard...I was braking far harder than I needed to which was scrubbing off to much speed.

my race turned out pretty much as i expected, i had only done about an hours praccy for the race (although i did a GT1 race on this track in a different league in 2009 so i wasnt learning the track from scratch)

i kept it out of the barriers and made a few places when others had problems!
