Pit Stops: You must make a minimum of one pit stop during which you must take on at least 1 litre of fuel and/or change at least two tyres. You cannot take a mandatory stop at the end of the pace lap, or with less than 1 lap to go.

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.

Special Notes: The grid procedure for Race 07 events is slightly different from GTL/GTR2. Upon joining the grid, you won't be able to rev your engine until all drivers are present on the grid. Do not attempt to esc back to garage or you will be DQ'd.

After some discussion with H@L, he will be running Evo events on alternate sundays in a few weeks time. Therefore this fun event is run more as a taster and to serve as a warm up to the touring car season starting the following week.

Dull track & the Porka is probably to fast! ::)


p.s. Are these weekly or fortnightly races? If it's fortnightly, you've picked the alternate weeks I can't race. If it's weekly, you've set the start time so early I probably can't join anyway. >:(

and boo sucks to legz for starting the thread with two negative posts  :sleep1: whats early about 8pm with 8.30 start? Thats what time we always do races!  ???
ps if you think the porker is too fast (without even trying it) perhaps you can wow us again with your performace in one like you did in the last GT2 race  :laugh:

8:30 start, we normally do 8:40... have done for years mid-week. I'm loving GT's F1-88 start time of 8:50, it just increases the chance I can finish children duty & sit in my chair before it clicks over from qually to race. I'm very happy to start at the back, just happy to make the grid in time these days :'(.

I was easily ahead of you in that race, till my inexperience with the ridiculous Porka handling requirements ::), caught me unaware & ended my race. Stupid cars :hammer: ;)

In these trying times I think we need to do all we can to get as many drivers on the grid as possible. If it means a bit later start, so bee it. :) Comming form a guy one hour ahead of ya'll. :P

Tried the F430, got to 1:40:7xx. Must say it acts completely different to the GTR2 one. Understear, then snap overstear either on entering or exiting a corner. Or both. ::) Probably setup again, though I tried soft and hard combo with high and low downforce. :-X Will try other cars. :)

Just downloaded them cars .... had a few runs ... they are brill ....

quick question ...

was looking for the pratice server ... what name does it go under .. i am upto date with the pw ... just want to check that my stuff is uptodate and able to connect on the day of the race..

Yep, I'd be up for a later start. 21:30 would be perfect for me  :angel: but I realise that's probably past a few folks bedtime  ;)

Server would be off on race nights , we only run on sim at a time for the duration of the race(should be back on soon).
Server name? just go into the filter sever list and put in uk and you should find it.

Err.. having a few issues with the new cars on the server so its not up, and if it was you couldnt connect to it! Be prepared not to run them.

Though this was a Fezza vs Porka but now note all are included :wetfish: Thats good for me.

The add on RSR feels exactly like the add on GTR2 porkas we use i.e. just like the other cars. I know nothing of real Porsches, nor do I want to, but like the rear end swings about in GTR Png and GTL. There's no such excitement in these add on porkas. Maybe those much maligned/lazy Porsche designers have actually improved them? ;)

Off to try a few of the vanilla cars which should be better. The add on Fezza is good fun  :)

NOTE: this will not use any paid addon content being used i,e the GT addon pack cars which includes the Ford GT and the later M3 GTR

whys that Spanner?   RD ran many races online using the porker&fezzas so why cant we?

typically flipping ironically, i may not be able to make this race wednesday  :( will find out nearer or on the day.

Because the porsche clashes with the new Zonda that was released as part of the GT power pack. If you have it installed and tried to join the server it wont let you and thinks your running a modified game. As some of us do have the GT power pack installed and the short time to sort anything out its safer to just disallow the car.

ah bugger, okay. RD ran their races before the gtpack release hence them getting no clashes. Must be a car number assignment needs tweaking.

ive reported the problem on his mod download file messages, hopefully it lets him know someone has posted. I couldnt find a member search or option to pm him directly. :-\

just an afterthought, but was it just you who had a problem or have others mentioned it also? Only asking as i cant see mention of it on other websites and would have thought others may have started commenting on problems by now  :-\  knowing how fickle simbin online can be, it may even have been an individual skinned car causing probs like we've seen in GTL/P&G before.

i was wondering when i went on line the porsche was not available ...

I find the F430 is more gtr2 like in its behavior so will plump for that. my times were around 44-45's though i did try the sunred out and did 43's

Meh, should have won this race. :-\ Forgot to pre-set my pit-strategy so I spent 15 sec more in the pit while I learned how to do it. Also, Ade hypnotized me so I made the same mistake as he did. :P Grats Pete. :)

I heard Ade's groan on TeamSpeak as he made that mistake and I could see him going deep in to T1 in my mirror. Initial thought was "oh darn it, he's gone and let TT through and he has enough time to catch me". Took a bit longer for me to realise the real outcome  :laugh: Bad luck there.

Only 15 seconds TT, you're a fast learner!  I spent a minute or so trying to find which buttons did what and then managed to select absolutely nothing and left the pits, picked up a speeding stop/go as I'd deactivated the limiter so had to do 2 more pitstops.  Never having pitted in Evo perhaps my assumption that it was the same as GTR2 was not a good one!

Learning experience all round, I've never driven more than 5-6 laps in a powerful rwd car in Evo, so the tyre degredation surprised me, my hastily bodged setup that was just right for cold tyres (pretty much all I'd driven on!) was far too loose for worn tyres and my limited abilities these days were insufficient to control the car after the first few laps.  So about 5 good minutes followed by mess up after mess up. Oh well, better luck next time!

sorry i couldnt join you for this. Had hoped to be in but wasnt to be.

Was doing 1:43.0's with full fuel in the F430, so would have been on the pace it seems.

have to say i was enjoying it till i blew the engin ..... came down the gears too quick into turn 1 and bang it went ...

looking forward to the next one ...when is it ... ?
