I REALLY (and I mean REALLY!!!) hope we don't repeat what happened at T2 on lap 1 in yesterday's BREASTS race! The WHOLE field went off, I honestly don't think I've ever witnessed something like that, LOL. It's worth making a video of.  :D

I enjoyed watching your valiant efforts, at imitating a bulldozer, Hristo.  I'm often puzzled by the pregnant pause displayed by some cars, following an unexpected off.

I suck harder than a Dyson at this track. Me and the Porsche are like Fred Astaire and Ginger...

...Spice.

Just can't get the speed round the corners. Too cautious too slow but when I try to hold speed I spin. Hopeless. I have practised for this and I can do between high 1:46 and 1:49. Really frustrating. Don't really care about the times but I just can't seem to get the hairpins right.

High 46's means you're only 3 secs off my pace! Couldn't get below 43 today, maybe I'll be in better shape tomorrow.

The thing to remember here Paul is that every corner, which is also quite slow, is followed by a VERY long straight. So, you have to gear everything up for the exit of the corner. Stay on the middle or outside of the track untill the last 1/3 of the corner, driving carefully, then aim for a straight line out of the corner, hitting both the apex and outer white line of the track. Remember that when you get better exits out of corners, you will also have to start braking earlier for the next corner because you are carrying more speed.

Tommie.

Are we all going to be driving in white cars tonight, or are teams colour coded in some way?

Just concerned that I should/could have a different opinion of how to drive if one of my team mates is behind/in front of me. I don't mean I'm taking you out if you aren't my teamie, just don't want to have a post race Vettel/Webber Turkey 2010 type conversation... :D

Just been practising online, and experienced really bad warp.

The others on track blamed me for the warp. I've not experienced such bad warp before. Is there a quick check-list of things I can run through if I experience the same thing again in the race tonight. The only thing I thought to do was check that my core.ini settings were the same as the server (they weren't but fixing that didn't change anything)

Cheers

Arf

If you get really bad warp you can often cure it by disconnecting and then re-connecting. See you later Colin.

Fulvio. Apologies for chatting before end of practice, but 2 people commented on my warping, so I thought it was serious enough to respond to. It seemed the concensus was I would ruin the race, so I quit. Sorry HikiWaza2...

It wasn't much fun anyway - in practice I was lapping in 144/5s with full fuel, so to have it tell me my qual times were 2mins plus was very frustrating.

Just to respond to questions asked of me online, I don't even have 60fps downloaded, so it wasn't that. I was also experimenting with a wired connection, because of problems noticed earlier today in practice with wifi. I saw no difference :-(

Hopefully my connection will work on Sunday...

:P hope ukgpl_GT_5 isnt the server we spent money on .

what is the sence in starting a race on a server people reported during qually it have massiv lag ?

well of about 75 % of the starting field got lost till L19 , cant say more , cause lag decided to let my clutch die at a engine temp of 89°.

well , sort of boring racing against the lag ,only focus on left bar and constanly disapearing pribluda and driving most defensiv as possible .just in hope not to be killed by lag stuff ..........

thats simply wasted time

Qually went quite well and I ended up in a pasti sandwich.  Got a good start and managed to pick my way through a bit of debris at T2 on lap 1.  Then I had Nicky from the sister pasti team on my tail so I stayed wide at T4 to let him through on the inside.  By now the warp was getting quite bad and I had my teamie Natan closing in on me.  So when it looked like he was going for the inside at T4 (don't know if it was a genuine attempt at a pass or the warp playing tricks) I decided to stay wide again.  Then there appeared to be massive warp contact.  I got punted off into the sand and Natan ended up on his roof.  I continued but Natan was out :(

Race was very quiet after that. I just concentrated on putting in some steady laps and tried to avoid getting lapped.  With 5 laps to go and in a solid 6th place with the leaders still 30 seconds away from lapping me I got discoed  :taz:

Given that a lot of people were complaining about warp I suspect a lot of people were warping so doubt it was my connection.  Probably indicates a server issue.

I think that given the warp there has been for the last 2 GT races on UKGPL 5 we shouldn't use it for this mod.

The Novices race at Watkins seemed OK but the GTs are troublesome I think.

Good to hear about the server Mike. It was really bad and I had to stay as long away form other cars as possible.

Not to say that my L1 T2 was due to lag it was purely me but I spent the rest of the race looking at the L meter, looking at cars/not looking at cars, warp made it impossible to know where they were, and waiting for the disco but I only had a few nearly screen freeze moments, so after all the result, 5Th, were not too bad and Pedro and Lupo also made it to the finish so a good team effort.

I got punted off into the sand and Natan ended up on his roof.  I continued but Natan was out :(

Race was very quiet after that.

What do you mean it was quiet - I was chasing you as hard as I could... I saw the Natan flip - I unchariatbly thought -"Aha another place". Phil disposed of me fairly quickly and I settled down with Jonny and Fran behind me. Although I wasn't lapping quickly (1:49.1 or so) I was opening up a lead. I was 8th by now and feeling pretty good. Then my wheel came off in my hands - literally. Luckily I was on a straight but I couldn't change up or down which was tricky as I was approaching the lap's end. Got through it by using my knees to steer and then spent the S/F straight fixing my wheel. This meant Fran was on my tail. He was quicker on the straights but I was better on some corners so approaching T2 I stayed left and took it slow but I caught the sand trying to leave lots of room in view of the lag. Bounced around and then we were coming out of the turn ok, phew. Suddenly BANG. Span but caught it and got going but fuel was leaking away. Coasted off and finished after 11 laps. Very sad, because I was really solid if slow. I might have held that eighth. Who knows.

Horrible lag and warp. Fun whilst it lasted though.

Finally a HUGE apology to all of you on server 1. First I forgot the password. Second try but GP was set to 90 laps so I thought it was Int Long. Nope. Finally got it right on try four. Sorry again and massive thank you for your patience. Believe you me it was worse for me than it was for you! I shall do better next time....

Congratulations to The podium, commiserations to myself and apologies to my team mates Juha and Axl for not getting to the finishing line from a position that would have given us good points.

In short Juha was lightning quick around here, Clive was always faster and more consistent than me, and my late change in gearing worked a treat in qualifying but was not the wisest choice for the race. By the time Clive had shaken me off the damage had probably been done to my overworked tightly geared engine and bang she went. Sorry guys to let the team down. Off to work now to lick my wounds.

Grats to the podium in the other race as well.

Note to the organisers; after just two races I think this series is superb and will be very even more popular in the future. We might just need even more servers in seasons to come?

Congratulations to our superb Juha and the podium!

My race was mean cause I had not enough concentration for this new track. Was hot and humid here.
Lost some positions in the first few laps but did overall a constant race. Had some fun racing with Martin the drifting genius :)
Ray dont be sad, there are great races to come!
To have Juha in the team is a great pleasure so the Porsche International is still leading.
I allready know the next tracks, so I hope to come in better ;)

Cheers

every wednesday Breasts-races serves the possibility to test if my server is good enough for a full grid GT race .
obviously the attendance of more then , lets say , 15 drivers is essential .

Released briefly from my duties, as test driver at Antipasti, I was given a one off contract with Team7 at Bugatti.  No. 7 was Stirling Moss' favorite number, so I decided to drive for free! 8)

The start went very well, and a lovely sight to see all the cars, skillfully flinging themselves around the opening lap. This lasted all the way to lap 2.  Several silly mistakes then left me chasing promising newcomer Cookie, for much of the race.  I had hoped the tyre barrier's under construction alongside the track, would be ready by race time, but no such luck.  The trouble with those lumps in place already was, they chose to attract more than they repelled.

The pitboard battle raged on undaunted, until with only 3 laps left, "Bang!"  I ended it all, hypothetically - how pathetically ineffectual. >:( (Note : long words hurt brain) "Ah well, back to testing!"  ;)

Absolutely right Hristo, Juha was flying in his Porsche. I actually broke one of my rules and tried to match his qually time by dumping all but 3  galls of fuel, rather than try on race fuel, but even that left me some way behind. Ronnie put it a great qually lap that dropped me to 3rd so I was looking forward to some serious racing.

I was hoping that Juha's race pace/setup might be a little slower than his quali performance and that might give me a chance to challenge him, but from the start he was very quick. I had Rocket Ronnie in front of me and although I felt I could go slightly faster than him there was no chance for a safe pass. All the while Juha was easing into the distance :-\.

I had pressure from behind as well as the fast guys sorted themselves out and began to close, so I had to press Ronnie as hard as I dared.
When he ran wide at T1 hairpin ( or is it 2?) I fired myself through the gap and took off after the shadow of Juha. Ronnie recovered very quickly and was holding Fulvio ( I think ) behind him and I was able to keep both of them at a safe distance whilst the fuel load came down.
By half distance Juha was about 500mtrs in front and still easing away every lap and Ronnie was still within 100 mtrs behind. Time to push hard......

I put in a session of 3-4 banzai laps and gradually pulled away from Ronnie to the point where he lost my slipstream, after that tried to maintain the speed to see if I could catch Juha. But his pace was so good that I could barely make any difference to the gap even after 5 or 6 laps on the limit.
Ronnie retired leaving the 3rd place car about half a lap behind and with Juha about the same ditance ahead I decided with about 8 laps to go that to try and chase Juha was likely to end in disaster so I would maintain my pace and hope that Juha would run out of fuel or blow up...he did neither!! :-\

Grats to Juha on a deserved win and hard luck to Ronnie who was fast but payed the price for over stressing the unbreakable Porsche engine.

This is turning into a very popular and highly contested series,,,,,,,,,,looking good for the rest of the season  ;D

what i can say ,  perfect race for me  ;D, no mistakes , setup feels good and track that i know very well from earlier races  . It was lonely driving from start to finish,i see few backmarkers after half distance but they give me easy way, so no problems with them either.  Wondered what happened to ronnie as he did very quick qualifying lap. Not a bad day for team Porche international as cookie finished 6th. we are trying for team championship title

Brands is familiar track but i guess more closer times for top 5

so after all the result, 5Th, were not too bad and Pedro and Lupo also made it to the finish so a good team effort.

Thanks Böss ;)
I had a interesting and fun race.
With the lag thingy..........some people take great risk while overtaking, but that's racing.

Thanks all for the race!
cu next time.
Greetings Pedro.

Apparently this template is totally different from the one used to make a livery for mod 67 which is composed by several .mip files.
In this image, all components of a car skin are placed all together on the same file. Is this file suitable to be readed directly as it is from GPL or may it be transformed with Photoshop cutting away parts and making .mip files with those parts for each component ?
If this is the only file we need to draw a livery, which are the bounding boxes surrounding each componet ?

Thanks.

P.S.: this image looks like the template file for IL-2 airplanes.

For me, a very enjoyable race and a good result! :punk:

My car was nice handling, although a little slow exiting corners, but I was confident to have a good pace during the race, hoping for some unlucky events of the drivers in front of me. Started 3rd, but dropped down to 4th before turn 1. But, at the braking for the 2nd turn, dived inside Goran and returned to my strating grid position.

On second lap, I was pursuing and watching Hristo x Tommie battle, when both made contact and spun off the track. Then I was leading, trying to avoid an approach from Pedro. Some laps later, Tommie was 2nd again, and started to reduce my advantage. I was not so much fast and, after receiving some pressure from him, made a mistake and went off the track, losing the lead.

After a few mistakes, my race was summed up to keep the 2nd place and Hristo behind me. As usual, I reserved for the last lap my "bizarre moment of the race" ;D. At the penultimate turn, I clipped a tyre and had a spun. Luckily, my car did a 360º spin and was able to return without losing the 2nd place.

Grats to the winners, especially for the flying Juha! (Did somebody told him that this championship is only with Porsches?). And grats to all finishers! See ya next time!

It is necessary to make your own test how much fuel is consumed for every track with the GTs!
This lap/fuel in GPL-setup is allways way to much...

Maybe the fuel is calculated for Le Mans where you are all the time pedal to the metal?

I had a great start and was behind Clive for a while, then I had slide out of the third hairpin and Sergio couldn't avoid me putting both in the sand. Had another off here and there, but eventually caught a honorable 4th behind Sergio that showed a good speed  :)
Ciao

That's right m8, I was so close to you that I was not able to avoid the contact while you were braking just after the power oversteer exiting from the Hairpin. I was so surprised of your move that I had no time to push the brake pedal at all. I'm sorry for the contact Fulvio. I never had a more unwanted contact than this one  ;)

Hi all,

Qualifying for this race was tough, but in the end I managed a good lap which put me at P2. Going into the first corner, I slotted in behind Hristo and tried to follow him round for the first few laps. I was happy to just be able to follow when my connection suddenly got a lot worse. Cars were jumping left and right but at least I was able to continue. Unfortunately I then had a lapse in concentration and missed my braking point, hitting Hristo. We both went straight on but could rejoin relatively quickly with only 2 places lost. Hristo then started chasing Pedro, but a couple of laps later he missed his braking point at the same corner as I did. Thankfully he was able to avoid Pedro, although he did go straight on. With Hristo now behind me, I had to figure out a plan to overtake Pedro despite the massive warp to be able to keep Hristo behind me. Thankfully he had another off so that gave me some breathing space. I then set about overtaking Pedro. I had a better exit out of a slow corner and pulled alongside lining up for the fast left kink, when he suddenly disappeared due to the appaling connection. As a result, I drove through the kink a lot slower than usual, but at the exit of the corner everybody reappeared and it was suddenly Hristo behind me, with Pedro behind him. I was able to pull away from Hristo a bit and started catching Raoni. I made a mistake later on but was able to catch him again before he crumbled under the pressure. After that I was able to drive my own race and not worry about the huge warping as much.

Even though I crossed the finish line in first place, I expect to be degraded back to third due to my mistake, so grats to Raoni and Hristo for a good race in appalling conditions.

Tommie.

I can't agree with my penalty. As explained the car preceding me was out of the track and suddenly ,one second after, was in front of me.In wich way is possible to avoid an accident? The only way is to race without try overtaking! This problem is due to the server ,i think, and in my replay is clearly visible this fact.

I can't agree with my penalty.

You have the right to appeal by sending the Chief Mod (Vosblod) a PM and he will look at the incident again and maybe reverse the decision but he could also increase the penalty too.
