I need to do a few tweaks to my weather system but, if I do then what do you all think of changeable conditions for this event?

My reasoning for the suggestion is as I said in the season introduction, that on the tracks we have done loads before, I will try to make the races more interesting by using changeable weather or non standard virtual race start times.

SuperGT cars are great on this track, but then all cars probably are on this incredible and historic venue in the Arden Forest. :)

No probs here, though we havent tried the wet tyres in the mod at all.
Interesting, how low do you go with the wings!

i am not sure if i did a race already with wet tyres in this mod., but for the wings...
high wings are always best with this cars in dry (japan cars), so you can be sure in wet full wings is not wrong...
in my nissan z i do drive always in every track with 4 in front and 11-12 in rear, think i did 12 in laguna seca and 11 in portima de funes (do not know name)
you win much more time with high wing in the corners as you loose in the straights (if you loose any??), with lower rear wing you can not push the cars so extrem in the corners.

I find with humyo if you follow the link and it asks you to login, try clicking the link again and it then downloads it.

You can still practise with the official Spa 2003 until I sort out the upload.

The only change in UKGTR version is corner cut detection. Do not cut the corners at the top of Eau Rouge and the Bus Stop chicane.

I am just trying to get the weather system sorted at the moment but, if I can not get the changes done in time then we will race with non standard virtual start time. I will let you all know later today.

If we do use changeable weather it will be based on real life weather conditions and its currently forecast to be dry at Spa tomorrow.

Sorry it is so last minute but, as there is no rain forecast (and I have not managed to get the changes I wanted working in the weather system) we will be having a non standard virtual start time. It will be 19:00Hrs. It is starting to get dark but, you can still see the road side objects at that time. By the end of the race it will be quite dark.

The aim is to ease us into a night drive with only the last few laps in any real darkness.

1st post has been updated.

i have just been practicing offline, i set the session starting time to 8pm (to see how dark it would be at the end of the race) the pitlane was flood lit, but by the time i got to the end of the pitlane i was in complete darkness and could not see anything (yes i did have the headlights on!). i have done night time races on other tracks before and still seen the track, is there some setting that i have changed by accident?

Hah, 1 hour race my butt. >:( Don't know if it was the darkness, but I even lifted off a bit on Eau Rouge as nsfast in front did and still I spun at the top of it. Never had in practice. :(

was circulating ok (but not very fast  :( ) until it got very dark i started getting the problem with the screen going dark again, it seems to happen in the darker parts of the circuit (the whole screen (HUD and motec included) dim right down, then when i reached the flood lit parts of the circuit it was ok again)

The only changes i have made to the computer recently are installing steam and GTR evo last weekend, has anyone else experianced any probs like this?

Nice race. :)

I had some good fights with a few drivers and I saw Apex and Mantoes have a nice fight at the front for a while.

I eventually crashed at the top of Eau Rouge and later got a stop and go for cutting the bus top. :( I too seemed to have less grip at Eau Rouge than in practise TT.

Fast laps at the front. :) Unlucky on the warm up Spanner. Spa was lovely in the moody lighting. :)

That is strange, I have not heard of that before. The HUD going dark as well says there is an issue there. Do you have any graphics mods installed? Some may not be tested with nigh time conditions.

The only other thing I can think of is any tweaks made to your graphics card settings or maybe turn the in game graphics up/down a bit. Cant help more than that at the moment.  :(

@SRW
I had problems with my old 42 inch plasma monitor doing night races, after  10 minutes or so it would go into screen saver mode and dim down ??? to stop screen burn.
Couldn't find any settings to make it stop ??? all i could do was pull over to the side of the track and click back to desktop then go back to the game, then it would be OK for another 10 minutes (not good) had to get a new one :( (when i say new  i nicked the girlfriends new 32 inch LCD TV she got for her Birthday) ;D
Have a look in the monitor settings and see if there is any screen burn settings?

                                      Good luck, cheers Ade

Wondered what happened to you SRW as we were having a nice race there until you had to pull over. Hope you get it sorted.

I was was slideshowing for the formation and 1st lap and decided to bail out onto the grass at Les Combes rather than risk tangling. Not sure if it was a night problem or the fact I was running a performance monitor  :-\ but haven't experienced this since before I upgraded my setup.

I was off pace all night really, especially so after opting to keep my mediums at the pitstop. Tyre wear didn't seem at all bad, but soon after my stop I was losing 4 to 6 secs a lap  ::)

Still not sure about this mod. I have even less feel for these cars than I do for our UKGTR cars and for me they are not at all inspiring or realistic to drive.

I found some car of this mod really easy to drive, and I think that is a perfect mod to have some good fights!

At the start I stupidly failed to disengage the pit limiter (I missed the button), so Apextechusa passed me before the eau rouge. That was better for the fun of the race. I had to study his lines 4-5 laps before making an attempt to overtake him. It was very difficult to stay so close in trail every time I had to approach the eau rouge, so I had to find another point to pass him. I realised that the right point was at the "source", cause I was always faster in the chicane, and consequently in the acceleration between the "bus stop" and the "source".
When I gained the inside line before the source braking, I was successful in my manouvre, and I easily escaped by the Apextechusa/H@l duo, that started to fight hardly at my back.
After 14 laps I pitted, refueling and changing the soft tyres with another set of fresh soft. The track was free, and I pushed a bit managing some good laptimes in row, but the race has become a little boring in the second stint without someone to fight against. At my back, my followers had some troubles with their pit, taking both a Stop & GO, so I gained 1 minute circa to apextechusa and H@l. Nsfast took advantage of the other drivers mistakes and gained the 2nd position under the checkered flag. Race over.

1st victory in a UKGTR Race makes me happy  ;D, but I hope that for the next races, there will be more people to join these events cause this mod it's perfect for the fun. Where are the previous champ regular ??? ??? More people = more fun!
Cu for the next ;)

Still not really comfortable round here in the car but felt a bit better running softs on the front, i can cope easier with the greater wear on the fronts plus the softs heat up nicely. Surprised to start so far up as i expected many to go faster. Not the best pace lap, ended being too agreesive through turn 9 and hit the curb on the inside, bit of a tank slapper, then hit the barriers picking up massive damage :-[ Tempted to just drive past everyone on way back to the pits but thought i'd better take it slow having seen H@L's unique pit entry method.

Came out and just kept my head down all race try to gain time on those ahead. Few strange moments where those lapping me where actually a bit slower at times and through the normal stops managed to end up racing Matt briefly. Was on my last cut-track warning as well for the last 20mins so had to take it quite steady into the bus stop.

I guess looking back i could have had a good race if it wasnt for that mistake! Congrats to a rather dominate win by Manteos
