Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules (https://www.simracing.org.uk/index.php?pid=7) especially the rules about in-game chat messages.
(3) You will need to install Power and Glory v2 from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/), 2.1 patch from here (http://www.gtlw.co.uk/) and enable terrain patch.
(4) P&G has no 'Pit Speed Limiter' function. You may go as fast as you like in the pits, but please exercise caution. Penalties will be handed out for causing contact in the pit lane. Use your best judgement when making your pitstop during the race.

Many thanks to Phspok for helping to organize this event. I think he selected a good car/track combination that should prove to be interesting challenge.

Hi there, I'm not in the Championship but can I take part on this race?

Rafael

We'd be happy to have you Rafael. Please be sure to read the rules and regulations. A link to them is found in the notes section of the race announcement.
Be sure to run the P&G Terrain patcher prior to joining the server or you will get connection errors.
The test server is up and running now. It would be a good idea to try to join the server prior to race day to ensure you do not run into any troubles.

Hi there, well I was able to connect to the server but as soon as i got to the garage screen I was "booted as possible cheat". Then as I tried to re-enter the server I couldn't get past the password box, I kept entering the password (---------) and nothing happened. What is this? How do i get around it?

Keep at it. Sometimes it takes a few attempts to get in.

Thanx, after about 5 attempts I managed to connect and get to the garage, but then I got kicked againg "as possible cheat". Would this be happening to me because I'm running the game on Windows 7 and hence am using the no-dvd file in order to play PnG? Because as far as I know there's no other way to play PnG in Windows 7.

Thx already!

If you got to the garage then you are basically connected. Random "booted as possible cheat" is common. Try joining with a different car.
Windows 7 is not the problem. I too run Windows 7 without the CD.

Welcome Rafael  :)

The booted as possible cheat thing is a pia with PnG and other mods. I've failed to start races because of this on a few occasions and there doesn't seem to be any solution. As we've said, joining in another car model often helps. Other than that, check the terrain patch is enabled, but most of all just keep trying.

Thanks Tony, installed.  Problem with Windows 7 screening (I think) but it does give the option of installing any way.  Also screwed up my system of saving files in folders for each League.  Will have to look at it when I have time - Microsoft's continuous faffing about is a ****** pest, keep changing things.

Questionable source, but:

"We trained hard, but it seemed that every time we were beginning to form up into teams, we would be reorganized. I was to learn later in life that we tend to meet any new situation by reorganization; and what a wonderful method it can be for creating the illusion of progress while producing confusion, inefficiency and demoralization.''

It's one way that Microsoft makes people want to buy their "new" version of something.

Thanks for the extra link Tony, I think I will start mirroring the downloads from my site in future whenever I can.

Don't know the track, don't like the E Type and can't drive the Falcon  ::)

Should be good fun then  :D

LOL, Thanks for the test GT. E-type is sooo good here, and the Falcon gets round surprisingly calmly
Roadster is on paper faster, but I am usually quicker with the Coupe.
I think some people are in the same boat as I am, in that they don't really have time to learn a track
AND spend time creating a setup. So to make things a little easier I think I will also try to put up
my setups for the coming events. I struggle to drive other people's setups, so may be limited value
but mine are usually fairly "easy listening" so could be a useful start point.

p.s how was the download speed? My hoster (is that a word?) seems to have changed some things - limited file size
limited upload/download time)

Unfortunately I'm forced to miss this one due to a "summer-flu" which makes it
impossible for me to concentrate on track.

Would have taken the E-coupe too.

@ phspok: thxs for the setups. Will test them asap.
               Download worked perfect.

The idea of providing basic setups is most welcome. However by the time I've finished tweaking them to suit my particular driving "style" there nothing like the original  ::)

Haven't had much problem with T1, but T2!!!!! Always seems that you can take it faster, but trying to do so always involves taking to the grass! ::)

Don't know what laptimes people are getting, my best is a 1.41.3 in the E Roadster.

I'm doing a 1:41.2 in the roadster on soft tyres - trying to decide if it can manage the race on them, or if I should take the Tank which has better tyre choices and only a slight speed disadvantage......  ???

So far my best with the Coupe is 1.41.474. This is one tricky little track with all those hollow high cambered curbs.

Ok, after a few laps in the Jag Roadster I've managed a 1.40:8. At first I thought the Coupe was faster but the Roadster with a few tweaks seems to be not only faster but also easier to drive than the Coupe.

Low 42's is as good as I can get in either, low 43's in Falcon. With race fuel mind, I still think I may get lapped
Just because I thik it makes a great track for a race, doesn't mean I am good at it...  :D

Didn't get much practice in & so started comfortably at the back. Quite pleased I managed to get my laptimes down quite a bit, think it was a low 42 in the end.
Enjoyed lots of good close clean racing with Alex & Henry, pretty much from start to finish.

Great fun, quite a technical track so made a change to have something big to play with  :)

Early appologies to Miguel - we exchanged paint in the first lap on several corners, hope it was as clean at your end as it appeared to be on mine  :)

Had great fun chasing John and Ade, for the first 10 laps or so all 3 cars were managing very similar laptimes - with each car having a 'strong' section.
Then Ade ran wide letting me hop into 2nd, where I looked semi-safe until I out braked myself into T1 and put a wheel in the dirt half spinning myself.

From the re-join I spend a while trying hard to catch Ade, but eventually just gave up and went drifting instead  :ninja:

Moment of the race for me has to be diving onto the grass on the infield of T1 to avoid John's increadible early braking just moments after his 'I'll probably spin off in T1' comment  ;D
Amazed (And glad) that carnage didn't ensue...

Results and Replay posted in Mordor

Messy lap 1, recovered from a kamikaze Jag attack, and then lost it myself up an inside kerb, then set off to
catch people, managed to pass a bit, then came up behind Geoffers, who I then sat behind more or less
up to the end, I could catch, then he would get away, eventually we caught Manteos on tyres that seemed
even more worn than mine, Geoffers and Matteo had a ding dong battle up to the last couple of laps
allowing me to close up some, then Matteo fell off and I nipped through to grab a place.

We tried lots of different cars here, and small cars worked, but we had somewhere we felt better
for the ankle biters, and to me the Jag was made for this place.
Great racing, thanks to all that turned up and had a go.

Tried all ways of driving these cars tonight....smooth, ragged, flambouyant, relaxed, accurate and couldn't find any consistency or speed. Every corner was a surprise  ::)  Bailed out after a few laps and a few spins as I was blocking the road.

Yeh, it seemed that lap after lap the gap between us was about 1s. I could open it up in the first & last sections but I was losing time in the middle twisty section. I had made one or two setup changes in practice but I think I made the car worse as after a few laps I had lots of understeer in the slow corners.

Was a good race though, despite being taken out at the hairpin on lap 1 by a wayward E-Type (Syd I think) that dropped me to the tail of the field. Had good fun working back up the order with Matt in tow. Eventually caught up with Manteos' Falcon & had great fun trying to find a way past. Manteos' tyres were clearly past their best & he went off at T1 with 2 laps left, leaving me to just hold off Matt on the last lap.

Congrats to John, Ade & Mr Muttram

First race in this totally unknown circuit for me, and the 0 practice laps strategy, surely doesn't helped me.
It was surely not my favourite track with all these slow corners, but at least it was easier to learn it. In any case, the 2 possible choices for this race were not in the list of my favourite cars, but I tried to race at my best as ever. Lap after lap, I was getting better on laptimes, and my start position was good compared to my 15 mins training for this race, so at least was going to be a nice mid pack challenge.
At the start I gained a couple of positions, while at the third corner someone did a "kamikaze" attack, and the pack was immediately divided in 2 groups.
The guys in front were flying and I wasn't able at all to keep their pace, even if after some laps I was getting near Miguel laptimes. When Miguel went a bit wide at the first corner, I passed him, but I did not try to resist so much in my defense, and he easily passed me again a corner later.
Lost the contact with Miguel, I was only trying to see the checkered flag, cause I forgot to change my "white spot" before the start, and the last 10 laps were a real disaster for me.
Geoffers replaced the gap, and I tried to resist him successfully for some laps. Then he made a mistake, giving me a break. My mobile rang just in the "right" moment, and I had even the time to answer to my friend saying him: "I will recall you in 5 mins"  ;D ;D. Back to the race Geoffers was again in my mirrors, and 1 or 2 laps before the end I went too wide at the first corner, and even Matt passed me. Finally the race was over!!! I hope to be more trained for the next one

Grats to the podium and to all the participants. Thanks to Geoffers for the nice and correct duel... til it lasted :)
Cu :)

Good fun last night at quite a challenging track. Had some setup help from Clive in his absence that shaved a few more tenths off and just scraped into the 38's in qually.

Got a good getaway off the line and held onto first place going into T1, but from the sounds of it I nearly caused a pileup with my over-cautious braking  :o. So much so in fact that Ade was able to drive clean round the outside of me and into P1! Luckily for me he got a bit out of shape at the left-hand kink and I was able to get up the inside going into the hairpin to regain the lead.

After that the pressure was on from Ade in the heavier Jag for the next few laps until FMG caught back up and distracted him and I was able to make good my escape, keeping it tidy for the rest of the race. Impeccable behaivour from those that were lapped, as usual  :thumbup1:. Grats to Ade & FMG for the podium.

Unofficial LapChart (http://www.justanotherpage.nl/Srou/PnG/RupJun11/)

Again a surprising close race. Really close fighting with Legzy and Henri. Thanks guys.
Surprised because learning the track was a frustrating experience, mainly going into the corners too fast.
This technical stuff is hard but a good learning experience.

Big apologies to Ade for the bad rejoin. The last laps my brain gave up and the errors were numerous...  :(

Congrats to the podium.
