Just to note this will be the normal 06 layout and not the 07 one with the extrmely tight first corner.

It's probably rubbish, but I've managed a 1:31.0 so far.

I've managed a 30.8 in both the 430 and M3 with fuel. Needed to push to mange it in the 430, first decent lap in the m3 and i managed it so definately more to come. Not enjoying it much, they are tricky here.

1.32 in the BMW for me.

I decided to change from the Marcos as I was soooo off pace at Magny.

The game feels a bit better to me after changing the degrees of rotation in my G25 profile settings from 370 to 290.

I think Marco needs to learn the starting procedure  ???
After getting totaly confused at the start i slowed to allow nsfast and TT to get near then spent the next bit realising the ferrari is a bit too quick a i would pull away easily down the straights! Few mistakes but was still chasing them then got sidways out of the last chicane and went straight in the barriers. Strangely my pit crew where telling me the race was over even if i could still drive the car, minus the front end! Dived back in the pits for repairs and hoped i could last 40mins on the tyres. Realised on XD my engine health was on 1%  :o And it kinda felt tight at the top end but still kept going thinking it was going to die on me soon.
Thought i was racing Jamara initial so was so surprised when i tried getting past the first time and the blue flags popped up that i backed right out. Only occured to me a few laps latter that he was alap ahead! Managedto get passed anf hopped the constant blue flag warnings werent going to end with a stop go but a few minutes later the car died having been on 0% for a little while.

The cars drive decent enough, but the tyres are not exactly ideal for endurance racing... :-\ (from what I've seen so far).

Managed a few 1:29's in the short windows before the tyres went off, but was basically under-steering constantly with the occasional snap over-steer for added pleasure ::) once the tyres were about 7 laps old. ??? Think H@L had it worse than me by the sounds of it too.

I'll keep quite about the pitting system till I get another Evo race under my belt.

p.s. congrats to Jonzo for the win 8), I doubt that 15-20sec lead you & Marco got for ignoring the SROUK starting procedure helped :-\ :whistling:

Enjoyed that despite all the negativity in my ears on TS  ::)

If you dont do any practise and therefore dont get the car set up properly, dont then whinge about the sim, the car and the tyres for the whole 60mins race  :wetfish:  If i can do 1:28's in the same car and still have good tyres after half hour then its obviously down to you guys not putting the effort in before the event. In the RD championship i am in, some guys are making one tyre stop in 90minute endurance races! so its mostly down to the setup and driving style if your tyres are getting knackered early.
Rant over.  :-*

Sorry about joining the confusion at race start. I was glued to Marcos and when he accelerated out the last corner on the formation lap, i went with him in auto-pilot (as thats how the RD races are run) and it wasnt until i braked down at T1 that i glanced in the mirrors and saw a gaggle of you half way back down the s/f straight. I span a few laps later anyway, so lost any advantage, but then had the pace to pull away from the pack again. Spent most of the race fighting Marcos, though he was much quicker but making a few mistakes, so it kept us close-ish. I actually took the lead when we both pitted at same time (pint of beer for my pitcrew for once!) and we had a great fight for next 20mins until Marcos cracked under pressure and over steered out of a corner exit into the armco.
TT chased me hard for last 10mins and i made a couple of errors out of tiredness but thankfully still finished a few secs ahead.  :)

Shame all our races are blighted by low turnouts now, no matter what the formula.  :(

Legends 1-2. :shifty: When did this happen the last time? :D Grats MJ, seemed like a tense race in front. Is fezza too fast then? Couldn't hold your pace despite you two close racing and slowing each other down. :-\ Had some close laps with Spanner and nsfast from the beginning, then Spanner made some mistakes and fell back. Was driving behind nsfast and couldn't quite get close enough to safely pass until his won mistake. Second stint was all about trying to catch the front two fezzas but couldn't until their mistakes and MJ was too fast in the end. :) Sport class is ok, Pro seems too much power for to me.

I think both MJ and Legzy are right. More effort in practice would show, and a bit harder tyres would make the race more enjoyable. Also, I'm having problems setting Race cars, they all have too much understeer for my taste and similar settings don't quite make the same difference as in GTR2. So it's probably down to me my meager mechanical knowledge. :D

All in all, seems Marcos is that much outta pace. ;)

MJ, is this Sports beemer the same as in RDGT series?

Edit: are this fun races? R5GT table (https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?action=LM2R&group=316&theme=4) doesn't show anything.

Well I must say I really enjoyed last night's race. Spent a few hours practising with and setting up the F430 only to decide to use the Spyker instead when the praccy session started!!!!

Once I got to grips with it and realised that if you overdrive it it WILL bite I really enjoyed it and could be quite happy using it going forward.

Race was going pretty up until the midway pit stop for fuel and i got a worn tyre warning as I left the pits lol (having forgot to change them). I struggled round for a few more laps  and really enjoyed the tussle with Spanner  ;D until I had no choice but to pit for tyres and promptly earned myself a stop/ go for pit lane speeding  >:(, pretty much my race over at that point.

Main thing I want to say is though that it was a real pleasure racing with you guys, having been consigned to public servers over the last few months it was great to have very good, very clean racing.

MJ, is this Sports beemer the same as in RDGT series?

No this BMW is the normal GT2 beemer not the new M3 GT2. Both should be available normally but think the new one is a tad too quick being a new evolution car. Could always allow it with a penalty weight applied using the ballast. :-\

I dont think the fezzas are too quick. I did about 2 hours solid praccy for this and Marcos C is a quick guy who also did a lot i think...hence we were up front ! (for once in my case!)

Understeer is inherent in a lot of these cars and takes a lot of tweaking out. I use Motec for my setups hence getting a decent setup :)  The default setups have way too stiff setups in ARB's, springs and dampers.
